Has anyone heard anything yet in regards to tickets? I know they are having some picture event tomorrow at the stadium.
No I don't think they are taking out seats that are there. i believe its just that fans will be standing jumping and singing etc.
That’s a really cool map. Just being nit picky but I don’t know how much the Canadian teams have influence in America and Anchorage to Vancouver is over a day’s drive.Nonetheless, it’s a fantastic visual. What seems to need to happen is a club in Detroit, Cleveland/Pittsburgh/Rochester/Buffalo, Phoenix/Las Vegas, and a USL club in Boise. Meanwhile, for us South Carolinians, it’ll be interesting to see the divide in Atlanta/Charlotte fans. It’ll depend on who markets better in the area. Atlanta has a head start and Charlotte lost a chance by not going with with Carolina in the name. Still, if Charlotte FC invest heavily, they should be able to claim South Carolina.

I hate everything about this club. Generic name, NFL stadium and now plastic pitch. There is nothing about this team that I like. Yea you can say that about Atlanta, but at least Atlanta plays in a cool stadium.
I hate to say that I feel the same way. I don’t get the desire for a generic no name brand. Why not just go with The Charlotte Crown FC? That was a rather popular name suggestion and would have given the team some branding power. Still, I think they should have really gone with Carolina Crown FC, so to say, we’re all of NC and SC club. Effectively stealing a large fan base from Atlanta with one stroke. They could have easily have argued too that the Crown was in reference to the Queen City motif. Overall, a failure in branding. As far as stadium, we’ll see. Hopefully, they do something cool that we cannot foresee. We need to remember that the best game day experiences in MLS, Atlanta and Seattle, are in shared stadiums. So there’s reason to still hope that Tepper knows what he’s doing.
Yeah I was really against the football stadium too. The name seemed predetermined even before having the names the fans could choose (I liked Charlotte Town). And there was no choice but having the Panthers colors or damn close to it due to the stadium color IMO. Then they went with the common, generic "token" or "coin" looking logo. But Why did Charlotte MLS go with Charlotte FC for the name, you ask?The fans.“By far, the number one, the favorite name, has been Charlotte Football Club,” team president Tom Glick told @theobserver More here:https://t.co/xjYf8tFgmZ— Alex Andrejev (@AndrejevAlex) July 22, 2020
Hmmm... So really it's just a proximity map, not really anything that gauges real world interest in teams. I've found those maps to be really interesting. Particularly when they include non-MLS teams that have more of a presence than the MLS side in any given area.
Yes, it's just a pretty, but relatively meaningless map. It does show just how big and open the western part of the country really is, though.

Greetings! This looks like the most active thread in this forum; sorry for this quick threadjack. I’m a Columbus Crew fan and I’m in Charlotte for a conference this weekend. Are there any US viewing bars (or bars more likely to show soccer) in Charlotte (namely downtown)? Any advice or points in the right direction would be much appreciated. Cheers!
