I'm not at all sure your proposal is within the spirit of the game. It's pretty close in silliness to the taping up the keepers, Monty Python style.
The problem with dumping PKs can be seen in this cup match today.
I would advocate that within the spirit of the game, the best way to determine a winner after a 120 minutes of tie, is a replay, another 90 minutes with another 30 minutes if necessary, and then again.
The massive problem with that is that if you look at their schedules, Chelsea, if they get by Lille in CL, will play at least 60 games this year. Liverpool will play more than 55. With national team commitments, there are individuals who have been expected to be counted on for upwards of 75 matches this year (Salah, for instance, 76). if Puli played in every Chelsea game, and every national team game, which often seems to be the angry assumption on here, he'd have played in 86 matches since the end of the 20/21 season, after the CL final.
Adding half an hour of lung busting 3v3 on a full size field would hardly seem to be an answer to the question, unless it was a really weird question.
Also, while it is true that hardcore footie fans will watch a tense game all day long, casuals usually like PKs. They think they're exciting, and are easily understood.

They should just go unlimited subs and continue playing for 90 more minutes of golden goal. That way, at least the total number of games that end in penalties would sharply decline. Would also reward squads with significant depth.

Golden goal plus goalie can't use his hands anymore.

Question is does Pulisic stay on the left or move to the right?

My guess is he will start on the right. Tuchel likes likes Mount at LF and typically has that player dropping back more to support the midfield. He could reverse things but typically doesn't.

Puli will be more advanced but not on his preferred side.

The pressure is mounting. Abramovich turns "stewardship" of the club over to the Chelsea's charitable foundation. https://www.espn.com/soccer/chelsea...e-foundation-stewardship-and-care-of-the-club

He is still the owner, and the club is not currently for sale. In light of current events, won't be surprising if the threat of UK government action forces him to sell, but that's not going to happen overnight.

Given the folks available, and current injury status and form, probably the exact lineup I would have picked. *IF* Reece James can play 30 minutes in the second half, that would be huge.

You can already tell Liverpool will be attacking on Chelsea's left side all day long, targeting Alonso's non existent defense.

Not that everything's perfect, but Pulisic is suddenly passing the eye test in a way he simply wasn't a month ago. Really encouraging.

But he isn’t passing eye test when scoring unfortunately. Not clinical enough. Hard to blame the naysayers. Tuchel is giving him chances, especially in big matches.

Solve ties by eye test? (Not totally sure why I was quoted there, but all publicity is good publicity!)

I think Tuchel has figured out that in these last 3-4 matches that Pulisic has turned into his first choice CAM. Pulisic is setting up good opportunities for others and he will pounce now and again. I like him in the role he’s developing into.

I hope you’re right. But why did he sub out his “first choice CAM” around the 70th minute?

    Nah, I'll blame the naysayers.

He was dynamic on and off the ball today. He created at least two golden chances for a goal and put in a real shift on defense. It was more than enough for 70 minutes of action.

Most players, even good finishers, don't score that close to the goalkeeper. Much less in a game apparently cursed by witches to go scoreless.

And Pulisic's record in big games is more than enough to justify his continued selection. His real problem is he can have an entire month of games where he looks like Jonathan Lewis with a beard, such is the random inconsistency of his form.

Pulisic has racked up a lot of minutes in eight days. FA cup tie on Wednesday to.

true- and ultimately he'll be judged by goals and goals created.

but I get the gist of the previous post. CP had been looking uncertain and down on the field for too long a stretch. he's been looking frosty and aggressive lately... that's the eye-test I agree with.

Why did sadio mane come off? Is he not first choice? You substitute attacking players and bring on fresher players all the time. Anyway, I certainly don’t want Pulisic playing 120 in the Carabao Cup when qualifying is 3ish weeks out so I’m glad his mins are managed.
