Admit it. You’d buy that jersey (as would I)

its actually a smart thing - they are getting $6m per year plus an unknown but surely very large amount of XDC at most likely a very discounted price from it's current $0.13. So if it goes to $1.00 Leviathan et gang will be sitting quite prettily, thank you. Will that get plowed back into the team or just the owner's'/rapper's pockets...? :)

Should we start a new FO thread?

Use the club discussion thread for all non-game discussion. If someone wants to start something more specific I will stick it.

Don't know what the demand would be, but the utility of an Academy/Loudoun/Spirit thread all tied together seems strong.

I dunno, I kinda like that our thread bitchin' about the FO is older than more than half the league.

Ever since TikatDickTator combined logins with Account Manager last year I have not been able to log in to AM either from my phone or from a desktop and have had to go to the box office each game to get my tickets. I have been able to reset my PW and login to regular TikatDickTator. Anyone else experience this? how did you get it resolved...?

I use the link from the LAFC app and that takes me to AM and then I use the LAFC login for that. Same for the desktop/web version.

Last year the App didn't work from your phone for managing tickets. Had to use your phone to use a browser and bring up the DC United web site.

They're fixed that now. Even I found it easy to use.

The app worked great on my phone last year. I had no problems using it to get into Audi Field, transfer tickets, or put them up for resale.

"Supporting the team" now means (over)paying for the privilege to advertise crypto companies on our chests?

Ge back in my day you had to stand on a street corner, like a lady of the night, and barter if you wanted to "sell your ticket". :D

I'm getting a kick out of how the price of this thing has dropped from 13 cents down to 4 cents since the announcement.

That's actually a good time to buy. I mean $.04. Put in $40 and you wouldn't have much to lose.

I think it went up a cent or something because one of those DBs on Twiter responded to me ragging on them, to tell me that it went up 3% or 0.12 cents.

Most companies these days simply exist due to money printing propping up their share price ie a giant ponzi. I would think it would be more obvious these days but whatever. Also, XDC looks like an outdated ethereum clone looking to trick dumb crypto people into giving them info they can then use to trick dumb government people to give them money. I'd take their money before they're insolvent if I was the team but I'll pass on the jersey unless its sans sponsor as usual. :whistling:

Circulating supply is just under 33%. DCU will probably have a new sponsor before/if (ever) it returns to 0.12 cents. DCU is getting $6 mil a year for 3 years from them. DCU could put up a non controlling share of DCU (say X%) in the crypto space and get X times $10 million in return ie for 10% they could get 100 million; enough to do whatever they want with the front of the shirt. But, again, whatever im just an idiot who's seen in real time joke scams accure billions simply because they're easy to buy and sell...

I don't mind the sponsor but after seeing it in the game I think it's too big. Looks awkward.

I still think it would be more advantageous for the club long term to ask IKEA to let us use their logo and do some funny web commercials with Losada and a few DC players shopping there in seven languages than it is to make XDC pay to put their name on the front of our shirts. If you want to improve the global footprint of the club, associating with an obscure company isn't the way to do it. I'll take Target, Amazon, Netflix, some airlines, Aldi's, McDonalds, Starbucks...

What's in it for any of those global brands to be a jersey sponsor of an MLS team?

LOL, did you think I meant they'd pay us directly? No, the benefits of association accrue largely to us, not them. They'd let us use their logo on our shirts, do co-branded commercials with their stores / products. They'd pay for the distribution of those commercials through usual channels.

In the end, a few million dollars a year is considerably less than the increase in valuation in the short term. In other words, I'd use the sponsorship to grow the brand rather than using it to earn money directly.
