I guess I'll have to buy a knock-off, outside the stadium, but only if they have one without the XDC logo.
Getting known may be the goal of a start-up company for jersey sponsorship. But United Healthcare, Etihad Airways, and American Express are also jersey sponsors. Some do it to remind potential customers or to further their prominance over competitors. At least that's what they taught me in my branding classes in college.
Looking at some of their marketing BS, they've got blockchain related services that they are almost certainly looking to market to most government agencies and branches of the service. That said, based on the responses to the comments the DCU Twitter postings are all by crypto bros.
Hopefully we get paid up-front, just in case. Or they pay DCU in cash, gold doubloons, pieces-of-eight . . . just not in bitcoin.
My son works for a large business consulting company. Regularly, a rep from one of the businesses will ask them, "We're thinking of sponsoring a team (or buying naming rights, etc.). Is that a good idea?" The company, from several studies, tells them, "No, it will not increase revenue, nor increase awareness of your brand." What does the business do? They go ahead anyway.
A lot of attention seems to be getting paid to the question of whether their money is any good. I'm more concerned about DCU falling in with a universe of scam artists. As (I think) Krugman said, anyone involved with cryptocurrency right now is either a scammer or a mark. DCU as an organization has decided to get in on that.
Block Chain is THE up and coming thing for internet security. And has been for a number of years already. The heck with bit coins. The real money is in govt contracts for security.
Since I'm not DCU's investor/operator, I don't give a shit about the money. I give a shit about DCU getting into bed with a Ponzi scheme. Seriously, I would think better of DCU if their jersey sponsor choice had been Pornhub.
https://theathletic.com/3144359/202...g-interest-in-mls/?source=user_shared_article Last minute. DCU is getting a “master node” possibly, so less cash value. Fan tokens. Enjoy the tulips. Thx, Jay!
Maybe I just don't know many fans, maybe a hundred or so isn't enough, but I don't think people have been less engaged, and feel less valuable to the club than ever before. Offering NFTs or whatever the ******** else is pretty much missing the forest for the trees here and by that I mean imagine we're in a car and we don't run into the forest but we collide head on with a tree.
So are they selling soccer, ED pills or "feminine hygiene products"? "Special moments? WTF. A special moment was Lucho heading in Rooney's 50 yard cross at the death against Orlando, not some fcuking piece of crypto trash.
I won't be buying a jersey for at least three years more years. I didn't buy one during the Leidos era, either. I don't need to love every sponsor, but I don't want to be embarrassed about what I'm advertising on my chest.
Thank You @ali_41_ for sending over this Eagles flag! Arrived earlier today. Good people do exist in this world 😁🙌🏻 #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/LSuy0gEpa4— Willy Aitch (@WillyAitch) February 22, 2022 #LetsFly Thx, Jay!
ew. I'm waiting for the announcement they're going to sell NFT's associated the player pictures next...i guess. this ends any speculation of buying a jersey for me. Also demotivates me from going to games.
Blockchain has a number of legitimate purposes, but Ponzi schemes and assigning ownership to picture that anyone can download off the internet isn’t actually one of them. And if we took a dime less in cash in exchange for some shit these guys sell, ownership is dumber than I ever could have imagined. And that’s saying something because I’ve scraped smarter gum off the bottom of my shoe.
