I didn't see the Costa Rica game but what a disappointing result. Panama will bunker for dear life and will be happy with a tie on Wednesday. We will need creative players and guys that can dribble and we can't rely on hapless crosses the whole game. I would start Guti, Edson and Orbelin in middle and use Tecatito as RB and have Arteaga as LB. Up front I would start Martin (if Jimenez is unavailable), Chucky and Vega.

I’ve no problem with this. Vásquez is growing and developing but he’s been very shakey. And it’s not like we’re playing a Liga MXer instead of him - Nestor has been very solid lately.
I feel the 4231 is the way to go. The "3" can all play each position and it would be great attack to support Jimenez. I'm also frustrated because i'm fairly certain this will be exactly it. Maybe Machin for Guardis.
Panama is not going to bunker. they have been on a good run and are literally a point away from passing up Mexico and US. The will come for the lead in the first 25 minutes.

The only way I see him not playing is if he gets hurt in the next several months. The DT we have and the one we’d likely get, if they run out Tata, wouldn’t bench him.

As others have said, Araujo has been off for 3 months but why dafuq do you call him up? Must feel shitty knowing your 4th choice, behind an old CB.
We already knew before the whole "Araujo eyeing a NT change" thing, that he was behind several players, including some who apparently Tata isn't fond of and doesn't call up. Sucks to see the kid stay on the bench even when every other true RB is out but it's not like he was the answer to anything anyway.
