It's unfortunate that the team could not put Costa Rica away. It's no surprise we don't have any strikers with the exception of Raul. Tata would die on the sword of Funes Morí then give a young forward a chance.
Yes, Torrado and Salcido were great~2002/5 to 2010. But by 2014 cycle they were a shadow of their former selfs. Particularly, Salcido was no longer deployed as a left defender but a defensive midfielder with Zavala and he wasted many shooting opportunities in the eliminatorias. Perhaps Layun was leading assist for a few select games, but other than that, he wasn't that good, otherwise a top team would have signed him.
I sometimes disagree with Pepe del Bosque but this thread is a great example of how bad the criticism of some Mexican fans are. And I think HH had a poor game. El debate con Héctor Herrera me parece de lo más bizarro que he leído en esta red social. Se le está juzgando como si fuera un futbolista acabado, y aunque no atreviese su mejor momento, es un jugador –POR PERFIL– único en este equipo mexicano. Me explico.— Pepe Del Bosque (@PepedelBosque) January 31, 2022 Apparently TV Azteca were all over HH and that's why all the "Pon a Aldo Rocha" tweets are coming in.
Another good thread about Pepe which shows how the main problem is on the bench. Canada has the coach that studies their rival best and although they might not have as good a squad as the United States and Mexico, they have the best team. Están compitiendo realmente bien.— Pepe Del Bosque (@PepedelBosque) January 31, 2022 Herdman is going to win the hex as Osorio did in 2018 which means that at least in World Cup qualifiers, knowledge is key. Also for the people that talk about Piojo, he didn't coach except the qualifiers with New Zealand. The weakest part of his tenure was by far when he had to face CONCACAF and won the 2015 Gold Cup playing the worst competition so I don't know if he would do great in World Cup qualifiers.
They should hire the manager from puebla. If he can make a bunch of bultos play good imagine what he could do with Chaka and gallardo
Seeing how he likes to play young guys, something tells me he'd stop calling those two altogether and go with Arteaga and co.
HH was definitely our worst guy yesterday. Yes, worse than Chaka, Gallardo and FM. And that game wasn’t a one-off.
It's a shame Chucky was not able to score the header at the 2 minute mark. It would have changed the game completely. Costar Rica was able to absorb as much pressure and counter.
I’m okay with sacking Tata but we have to have someone better ready to take the job. Some of you mofos sound like the FMF with their retreads. I’ve seen Piojo and Not long before Hugo, Tuca or Lavolpe get brought up.
No he wasn't. He had a god awful game but it was still not worse than Chaka and Gallardo. Those players were key. Gallardo never moved up and when he did, he stunk. Chaka did so more but did a terrible job. One of the key things why Mexico sucked besides the attack was the fact that Costa Rica counters were always dangerous and thus the team lost the ball after trying every slow attack. Most of it was because Campbell did a great job but also that even when Mexico improved, they placed him in Chaka's flank and he got over him every time. Martino tried to change things but Pined and Romo also stunk. The thing that did better for Mexico was when Arteaga came in and finally the left flank could produce something and Costa Rica had to worry about it besides Corona.
Chaka was actually one of the best guys in the second half after an aaaaaawful first half from him, IMO (now I think that speaks more about the team as a whole...). Anyways, fortunately he's out for the Panama game because of yellow cards
I forgot about this game completely. This team has no energy , no ideas , no nothing. It’s just there taking up space.
Pay Bielsa a sac load of money and have him take over starting next round of games. His time is up at Leeds anyways.
the league already started and larcamon doesnt seem the kind of coach who leaves in the middle of the season he did pretty bad , looked desperate shooting to the goal every ball he touched the problem is that we dont have consistent forwards at the point that the ones in nt are the most decent outside of that we have santi gimenez got exposed since cabecita left ,mudo aguirre hasnt been the same since tokyo and there is no need to talk about macias at this point
Been wanting Loco Bielsa to coach the NT or even Chivas for the longest time. Thing is though, he’s the type of coach that is no BS and wants to work at his own pace without interference from owners, directivos, etc. FMF will not allow Bielsa to work as he pleases
Didn't they already approach him once way back when? And he told FMF to fvck off? Or did I imagine this?
Yes. Everyone in BSMX was celebrating him quitting Marseille thinking that it was to join the NT and he told them to fvck off. Just as almost every coach to the point that Ferretti had to be caretaking the NT while they tried to sign Osorio. That was a time before the World Cup qualifiers had started and yet people think he will do it this time during crunch time. People think that people just take any job for money as if Mexico was the only place that pays.
