I didn't mean to imply that FIFA prioritizes single applicants. They select an applicant at random, and allocate as available. However, in general, it is easier to accommodate a single ticket than it is two or more. Anecdotally, I've personally had more luck when applying solo than when applying as 2, 3, or 4. For example, the only TST I've ever gotten was solo but ultimately, even after several WCs, the sample size is too small to draw any significant conclusions. That's all.
I would say 90% success in first phase sales based on my experience in 2018. First draw usually you got higher up in cat 1, lower area usually for sponsor, VIP, etc.
so themanlarry has already answered re source of info re Cat3. When you consider a good chunk of the competing country allocation is cat3 it would imply they will be really tough in this phase. Of course the same seat in the same stadium can have a different category from FIFA. We bought a lot of late tickets in South Africa as we had 2 + 2 for different games and one eprson pulled out. I went to games alone but the others didn't. We bought the cheapest tickets but got a cat 2 and a cat 3 in Pretoria both bang on the halfway line ten rows apart. A cat 4 off a local at half price for Switzerland v Honduras was on the edge of the penalty area. Now it is early days and tough to know demand but my best guess is after the draw there will be quite a few games readily available on the portal. The closer we get to the tournament the more Cat 3/4 tickets will appear for certain games if they are not selling. However if there is a Brazil/Argentina v Mexico game for example then seats well beyond the corner flag in the top tier will suddenly be cat 1. At best there will only be cat 2 sold apart from those given to the national federations.
Its actually more than 63,500. I was in game Qatar x UAE game in arab cup and on the screen they showed the attendance and it was 63,500 and there was some seats still free. So i would say bayt is around 65k attendance
I suspect it is for all the venues. Time will tell but I expect very very few cat 3 only applications to be successful in this phase.
The FAQ has plans for all the stadiums/categories, they all look bad. https://www.fifa.com/tournaments/mens/worldcup/qatar2022/news/ticket-categories-fwc22
The increased media presence will cut a chunk of seats compared to the Arab cup and unless they have been particularly cute with the stadium designs, camera positions will cut more.
Do you think if Cat 1 status high demand and cat 2 status is medium demand (same match) which do you think has more chance to win if we apply ? Assuming that Cat 1 has more seats
As of now Cat 2. Of course if we all apply for cat 2 that could change. There are a lot of wealthy people in Qatar. My observation is a lot of people were only interested in the Cat 1 seats for the Arab Cup. Others who live there were happy in the Cat 4 seats including tourists like me. So given a lot of old Cat 3 seats are now Cat 2 and local demand for Cat 1 and for Cat 3/4 (different demand) then cat 2 might be a sweet spot for applications if you want the best chance of tickets. Now Cat 1 and ticking the box accepting other Cats might still be better depending on how they do the draw. We are all guessing though.
Also, which applicant has more chance to get Brazil TST3 for example applicant 1 : applied Brazil TST 3+ some knockout matches applicant 2; only applied Brazil TST3 I was thinking if FiFA wants to have equity applied they They can give some knockout matches to Applicant 1 dan Brazil TST 3 for applicant 2. assuming that Brazil TST 3 is the hardest one
I have no idea, but the fairest approach to me would be that the lottery for each match/TST/package application is handled on its own, meaning that Applicants 1 & 2 would have the same shot at TST 3. I don't think it's fair to punish Applicant 1 on TST3 just because they threw in some more matches; how does FIFA know Applicant 1 doesn't want the TST3 much more badly than the other games?
Has anyone purchased a Qatarairways hospitality package? For some reason I keep getting this error notice below when I’m about to check out and my payment won’t go through. I tried it more than 5 times and this is what would keep happening. I called my CC and the machine said I’m good to go that I don’t need to call to make big purchases. The package is under 10k so my credit limit will cover it. Just curious if anyone else has had the same problem.
I think the media has their special seats (they were not full for arab cup) in all stadiums and nothing to remodule i would say
Gary If i choose cat 2 and accepting other cat, that gives me a better chance to get a ticket than simply choosing cat 1 (without accepting other cats) , am i correct ? Because my app will enter in the Q, and if it doesnt find a cat 2 available then it will try a cat 1.
So it depends how they do the lottery. If they start with Cat 1 then all cat 1 applicants are in. Those the lose and tick the box enter cat 2 draw........... Now if they start with Cat 3..... Maybe they include everyone who ticks the box in all the draws. Definitely ticking the box has to increase your chances.
I donnu why i was always thinking that the draw happens by application number not by game. So if your app is 1st in the Q then you get everything you asked for. They dont do draw if every game alone but they do the draw for the app number itself. Like in first come first served Phase (but automated)
I don't think the podcasts were fear mongering, I thought they were quite balanced with both sides of the argument being considered. The long term benefits of Qatar hosting were discussed as well as some of the challenges of hosting the World Cup in Qatar.
If I apply to 5 single matches, and I get allocated 3 single matches, when it comes to paying do I have the option of either taking 3 tickets, or none, OR do I have the option to choose 2 out of the 3 here?

It is inconceivable that the press/media will be limited to the area designated in this example
I got a midfield 10th row the day before for Argentina France in Kazan. Leather seats, likely hospitality not sold, cause I was in that grey area that all seat maps are showing as "not for sale" You will get better tickets closer to the match, that’s for sure
I would like to know what the odds are for cat3 team Morocco 3 match series. No upgrade for extra chances. If I look to the stadium ground far less cat3 places. But Morocco is not Qualified yet for the world cup. Do I have a descent chance or close to 0?
