Whether or not Steffen comes stateside, looks like Turner will start against SLV regardless Zack Steffen experienced back tightness this past weekend and has not yet traveled to Columbus. It's a talent. Horvath just doesn't play so he's very one dimensional. Wonder how Turner will fare in that same kind of position?
Just because he isn't playing first team games, doesn't mean he isn't training really hard every day. This back issue does seem to be recurring for him, though. Worrying.

The Athletic reported in their article that he’s unlikely to make it for the window and he’s hoping to get back to training with Man City sometime next week. https://theathletic.com/3092447/202...s-window-notebook/?source=user_shared_article
So Tyler Adams has a slight hamstring strain and Chris Richards possibly a broken foot according to Berhalter. I imagine we won’t see Adams next game but hopefully it’s not too serious. On the other hand, Gio apparently had a minor hamstring injury and has been out for months. Chris Richards seems like he won’t be back for the rest of qualifying at least. We’ll see though as to the severity of his injury.
The only silver lining here is that Robinson/Zimmerman would probably have been the starting pair for Honduras anyway, and Acosta may have been slated to start as well.
Also, they will round into form and fitness with mls starting back up. They just need to stay healthy through March.
Gregg said Zimmerman didn't play because of tight hammy. Hopefully his ok or McKenzie/Robinson looks likely. And John Brooks remains in Germany.
Be nice to have John Brooks right now. And maybe a poacher 9 who could convert some of the many chances the U.S. is likely to have against Honduras. Pefok fits the bill.
Good news on the Chris Richards front - he did not break his foot. Hoffenheim & #USMNT defender Chris Richards will stay with his national team for treatment in the short term. The good news for all parties is it’s a bruised foot & not a broken bone. Richards nevertheless won’t be able to play for the Kraichgauer against Mainz this weekend.— Derek Rae (@RaeComm) February 1, 2022
Thank god. It definitely looked worse then that, and I was worried when I saw Tim Weah pushing him around in a wheelchair yesterday on social media. He should maybe be ok by the March window. Now let's hope Tyler Adams hamstring isn't too bad. After how long Reyna was out with what was supposed to be a minor hamstring injury, I'm slightly on edge about it.
Man, I tell you that I’ve bruised a calcaneus before I was about ready for someone to shoot me to put me out of my misery.
As someone who has broken the same foot multiple times I will say I am very glad to hear it was not broken. A broken foot, depending on the place it broke and how badly it is broken can be a really long recovery and can have lingering effects for even longer. Sucks he's out, but glad to hear it isn't worst case.
It seems like every time one of our players has recently had a "minor" muscle injury it ended up costing them months. I know it hasn't literally been every time. Weah came back quickly. But it's been a theme. Adams, Pulisic, Reyna...
