Maybe they are interested in something other than football.

He doesn't have to be bound to Tottenham. Insist on a reasonable buy out clause. That is how you create a liquid market for your services. Look at Haaland. Had he been American he would have jumped from Salzburg to ManU. Instead he went to Dortmund with a decent buy out clause in his contract.

If Wes is going to be World Class, he doesn't have to go to the Prem to get there. He will be able to develop into a World Class player playing Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma, Lazio, Fiore twice a year just the same as playing Citeh, Pool, Utd, Spurs, Arsenal, Leicester twice a year.

Hasn't stopped Barella, Kessie, Locatelli, Sergej Milenkovic-Savic, Brozovic, Calhonglu, Zielinski, Luis Alberto, Fabian Ruiz, Remo Freuler, etc. from reaching very high levels (some even WC).

If you just want to see him in the Prem, fine say that. You don't need to hide it by trying to make Serie A into some second rate league. If you want him to make more money, completely understandable. Not that he won't get paid if he earns it, the CEO (Arrivebene) has stated multiple times, if you earn it, you will get a great financial package. Hopefully Ramsey and Rabiot can be moved on which can free up almost 25m a year in wages. Wes has certainly earned it.

There is the small risk of Juve being found guilty of transfer financial chicanery and being dropped to Serie B.

Why can't they just be normal? Always something with Juve.

If you're gonna play in Serie A, I can't think of a better club than Juve.

I mean just look at Juve's history and the many great players that came through here.

Wes is at a GREAT place. Established himself and grow his game here, and maybe one day in the future he can take on another challenge.

There is zero risk of it happening, because all clubs have been doing the same thing. The authorities had a recent ruling against them regarding this issue so their case is crumbling.

The entire thing has become a joke in Italy. Every team has done the same thing, yet their targeting most of the bigger clubs.

I'm watching on Paramount + fwiw.

Also, why doesn't Europe become truly civilized and let players summer league in England, and winter league in Italy or Portugal or Spain, like normal people?

I have a problem too with getting matches live on P+ on xfinity. Replays not a problem.

I think Juventus will almost always be in the hunt for the league championship and Champions League. I don't think that will ever be possible at Tottenham. His salary could be more at Tottenham but that's about it. And you can live in Northern Italy, cause that must suck.

Imagine if he spends 5 more years at Juventus, he could arguably have the best career for any Yank Abroad (other than our keepers) and whatever Pulisic would have accumulated by then.

He’s either highly valuable to play these minutes or they are running him into the ground for a payday move. I can’t figure out how it which it is.

Why not both?! Wes was clearly an asset today. In fact, he ran his asset off. A tiny bit more exceptionally in the box and he could even have broken this open once or twice. Had a smart lay-off to the 18+ at one point that was probably just a bit too heavy/to the defender side. Not bad by any means, but not quite "slide rule perfect" either.

But he was super-involved, and was clearly a bit sloppy-tired by the end.

I feel the same way but worried about his workload. If you add internationals on as well then it’s something to consider.

I think he plays 90 because Allegri trusts him and he is excellent. Allegri could care less about El Salvador and Columbus.

Yeah. He's putting in a decent number of minutes, tho not too crazy yet. Some every-game players have done 2000+ this season. He's at about 1600. But he's probably at the top in miles run. He has such a 2 way unique position on that team - a kind of libero B2B who was popping up in the wings sometimes - on attack and defense. It's like he's been told to follow the ball on defense and sprint to open space on the attack line on offense... over and over...

Be nice if he got a bit of rest. He looked a little tired of making those runs by about 70 mins.
