Ive done it in the past. and doing it for 2022. They really have no way of verifying this. However; your FANID has to have your real number. Since it's issued my immigration and serves as your visitor VISA and will be checked to your actual passport when you enter the country.
The ticket FAQ seems to be clear that we can change the guest names later: https://www.fifa.com/tournaments/mens/worldcup/qatar2022/news/ticket-resale-fwc22 I would take this to mean that we are free to put in whatever random information we want for the guest tickets, and the ticket purchaser has the right to reassign the tickets to whomever later on.
As has been said if you go back to December there is quite a bit about the Arab Cup. In simple terms though All stadiums are well connected and reasonably easy to reach particulrly if your only game that day. Al Bayt is north of Doha so requires a free shuttle from the Lusail metro. Maybe 30 minutes drive maybe more with traffic. Al Janoub requires a shuttle from the metro. Al Thumama requires a suttle from the metro and a lot of walking based on the Arab Cup. The other 5 stadiums are on the metro so very accessible. Trying to combine the first 3 with a game immediately before/after will be very very challenging without a car and probably a driver. Cabs are cheap but traffic will be an issue. I plan on doing 2 games per day and my planning will be influenced by how easy it is to reach the stadiums. However I still plan on visiting all 8. Ultimately an attractive game will trump a bit more travel.
People wonder why cant we book accomodation yet. I think they are waiting to the first tickets ballot result before opening the accomodation booking. i heard they only want pple with tickets to be able to book so they avoid pple coming without tickets. Lets see
For people who were neutral fans for World Cup group games / R32: How interested were you watching two not-so-great teams playing in a R32/group game at the stadium paying around $400 a day (game: $150, hotel $200, food $50) ? For example, Japan v/s Senegal (WC Russia). I have flown to Spain to watch El clasico + 2 games. The experience was worth it. Is WC a different experience because of nations playing and the atmosphere ? How much of it are the locals ? Do you think it will be different this time ?
2 so called great teams doesn't mean it'll be a great game ... I've watched many better games between so called lesser teams
It’s ultimately personal preference whether you’d rather see the best teams play or experience the best fan atmosphere in and around the stadium. Ideally you can find a mix of both. In general, the knockout rounds have a higher likelihood of featuring the best teams but often at the expense of the atmosphere. Since no one can plan ahead for those, many fans go home before the knockout rounds, meaning the best WC atmosphere is found in the group stages. For instance, a match like the England-Sweden quarterfinal in 2018 looks great in theory, but the atmosphere was lacking (very small amount of England and Sweden fans, empty seats, disinterested Russians waiting for the Russia match that night). I wasn’t at the France-Belgium semifinal but have heard that was very dead as well. Unfortunately, for this World Cup I think the tiny local population will result in some especially empty and dead atmospheres, especially in the knockout rounds, moreso than Russia or Brazil. But to answer your original point, you should go. I’ve never regretted any money I’ve spent traveling to a World Cup match.
All stadiums will be full in this world cup. Dont underestimate the nbr of expats who live in the middle east and who dont have the luck to watch games in the stadiums etc (premier leagur etc..)..so its a rare to chance for us and pple will not miss it. In the middle east love football. Pple in the gulf have money and they will attend the games including knock outs.
Most of the time, the world cup is a better experience than El clasico. (I've been to both.) The world cup experience is best the first 3 games and wanes as teams get eliminated. Latin teams provide the best atmosphere. (Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia in 2018.) The worst experience is with most Euro teams. I was at the Belgium France semi final and it felt like a funeral. The build up to the game and even the game itself was not worth the price of the ticket. I was on a TST 7 - Panama and couldn't resell it because of really low demand. Overall, the World Cup is an incredible atmosphere with a few low energy games. The locals always provide good hospitality to visitors and give a good impression of their country. Even the Russians and Germans in 2006 provided good hospitality.
Those two things are related though. "Big teams" tend to have more travelling support. That means better atmosphere. Not saying its a direct relationship but there is a good correlation between the two. You simply aren't going to get the same atmosphere for a Ukraine or Panama match as you would Argentina, Brazil, Netherlands, England, etc..
True, but the France Belgium semi final was terrible. Some cultures just don't have the flair; no matter how many people they bring. England, Spain and Italy are the 2 exceptions for euro teams I've experienced.
Very true.... Belgium - France semi final in 2018 was a waste of money. Poland - Senegal was fantastic! The build up and the game.
Quick question , since you had TST7 for Panamá, you received semi’s and final guarantee? Curious , been hearing different things . Just wondering how it it work on this sale phase for TST7 if they give you, so many options . But if they do not qualify , you’re order gets cancelled ?
Yes, you are guaranteed 7 games and you can sell back to FIFA any games you dont want to watch (even the final!). If I get lucky Panama will be drawn with Argentina, Brazil or England. Not v Qatar, Belgium, France . Panama right now is 4th in CONCACAF. Playing well and may qualify directly, or go to a playoff v New Zealand. If Panama fails to qualify you get your money back. The positive to this strategy is that Panama TST 7 is in really low demand. Your chance of landing it is really high. If your dream is to be at a WC final; this is a good strategy. You can use the same strategy with any team that has a small fan base.
Thank you brother , I wanted to get some clarify on this , been told different things . But that’s what I assume also . Yes of course! Dream is to get that final ticket. I was not lucky in 2018, but I was not aware of TST7 until the second draw lol. Perfect going to see which one, makes more sense, and better chance of me receiving the tickets .
Interesting see how the tout and scalpers come alive in forum when ticket release happen But I cheer on you to scalp and bleed dry the real fans wanting to attend this atrocious world championship in a atrocious country. You have really no shame and hope you succeed.
Any scalpers in here get banned , if your not happy were it's being held don't go and this forum really isn't for you ...
When the lottery is done, do you know if A has requested one ticket but B has requested 6 tickets, do A and B have equal chances of getting their tickets ? Or A has 6 times the chances ? Basically is the lottery done with one entry per application ?
People who scalp on here get banned but some major touts operate on here to buy at face value. You need to be very careful who you sell to as touts are allowed to operate here as long as they don't tout on here.
Anyone have a guess as to whether there will be any difference in bidding for the 4-game stadium tour tickets versus just bidding on those four games a la carte? The pricing is identical either way. Wonder if one has a better chance than the other of success, if you might get better seating, etc. If anything, I would think they give preference to the 4-game series, since it would be a bummer to get 0/4 tickets! Or, I'm guessing it's the same either way, but it's a decision I'm mulling over now.
More interested for 2026 than Qatar but while ticketing is topical I'll ask. If applying for tickets in the first ballot, on average what is the success rate per matches applied for? Not including high demand matches like the opening game and semi finals onwards? So if I were to apply for 10 matches would I work on the basis that I'm only likely to get x matches on average? I appreciate paying for Category 1 would increase my chances.
It is a guess. My thoughts are given the accommodation issues it would suit the hosts if people got 4 games and went or none and stayed at home. Instead of getting 1 or 2 and competing for rooms with the others who got 1 or 2. The seat quality will be the same.
That is a good point. All things considered, probably seems better to go with the 4-pack over a la carte. At worst, they are the same, and at best, we may have a better shot at getting all 4 games.
went to WC in Russia (amazing experience) and got tickets to x3 group stage games in three diff cities (saw Messi and Ronaldo) . . . picked them up in the late FCFS part of tickets sales this time i am going to try and get in early and just pick one game a day for 3 straight days in hopes of removing stress of getting tickets and hope i get lucky with matchups like many other i am excited, but prob most worried about the hotel/lodging situation, i remember years ago there were options, albeit expensive ones, this time i cannot seem to find a thing other than through the official site and those are super expensive, . . . here's hoping they add a bunch of rooms soon
