Good for Araujo. He definitely deserves to be there. Artega at left back is also another player who was in Martino’s doghouse but who apparently is back in the fold. First time we’ve seen Laniez in awhile too.
And this evening (even less certain about relevance): Peru 3-0 Jamaica (0-0 @ HT) Another friendly, which was scheduled for this Saturday but later canceled: Guatemala v Canada in Miami
Tech was grass when Atlanta United debuted there a few years back when Mercedes Benz was still being built. But switched to turf in 2019ish.
Sure, but the USSF has scheduled this window with reducing travel as a primary focus, and acclimitazation to cold conditions as a secondary due to Canada playing somewhere in their country. If they forced them to travel to Costa Rica then that would be an extremely unfair advantage for Canada as they will already be close by. The camp in Arizona doesn't relate to this.
Other than Jimenez, has Mexico had any problems with injuries? It seems they’re mostly able to roll out the same squad over and over again.
I think they had a couple injuries the first window but otherwise have been in pretty good shape. Even Jimenez wasn't hurt when he missed qualifying games, it was because of the issues in the first window with the UK red list.
I think they gave him the Turner scoop in exchange for walking it back. They definitely feel the heat, no pun intended, on the decision.
I grew up near that stadium and when they changed the track from some sort of black gravelly stuff to new pink soft stuff my sisters and I rode our bikes around the track. And got chased away. So there's no track now? Where are the Kansas Relays held if so?
There was a ton of history there, including some legendary Jim Ryun runs. They built a new facility for track, soccer, and softball. It seats 9500. It looks nice: https://kuathletics.com/facilities/track-field-complex/

Thanks for the memories. I graduated from KU in '66. A lot has changed since then. I was there for Gale Sayers, JoJo White, and Jim Ryan. Ahh! The good old days!
Saw Ryun jogging a few times and met Sayers at the Boys Club. Weird place to grow up. A block from campus and most house converted to student apartments. Bet it's the same at most big universities. Oh and damn IASocFan. I hope I'm still posting when I'm your age.

The upcoming matches: USA-El Salvador Jamaica-Mexico Honduras-Canada Costa Rica-Panama Canada-USA Mexico-Costa Rica Panama-Jamaica Honduras-El Salvador Jamaica-Costa Rica USA-Honduras Mexico-Panama El Salvador-Canada Since the Top 4 only have 2 matches against each other in this window, a lot depends on the Bottom 4. Jamaica has the talent to get 2 wins in this window and jump right back into the race. Costa Rica has a must-win against Panama, and then probably needs to take at least 1 more point. Honduras and El Salvador face immediate must-wins and will be playing for pride if they don't get them.
That would be nice. If we get 4 or fewer, it would be nice not to lose ground. I really don’t want that last window to be dangerous.
Uh oh… According to A Bola, Stephen Eustaquio tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the upcoming #CANMNT games.https://t.co/bHW8qVe85A— Rudi Schuller (@RudiSchuller) January 23, 2022 Doubt he’s the last
Interesting. Eustaquio and Davies are IMO their two most important players. Davies because he’s world class and Eustaquio because he’s by far their best CM and that is one of their weakest positions.
They've had a very fortunate run avoiding health and injury concerns so far, so this window is shaping up to be the first real challenge of their qualifying campaign, as far as that's concerned.
By the way, Eustaquio reportedly just signed for Porto on loan until the end of the season: https://www.ojogo.pt/futebol/1a-lig...a-e-vai-ser-jogador-do-fc-porto-14518747.html By my count, that means that Canada now has 6 players on teams in the Champions League group stage this season (Davies at Bayern, David at Lille, Hutchinson and Larin at Besiktas, Buchanan at Brugge, and now Eustaquio at Porto).
