Minamino starter in the semifinal of EFL Cup missed a simple tap in totally free in front of the door. Pool 11 vs 10 since 25' still 0 - 0. Anyway full time for Minamino + extra time (except Klopp drop him thanks to the extra time sub). Whoops no extra time. Dunno how it works. Fine it's a 2 legs semifinal. Anyway Minamino missed a chance to do something good as always.
Good to see him score but I still feel he is stifled in this Liverpool team, he was so much more dynamic at Salzburg, looks a shell of that player at the moment.
He plays a really good season at Liverpool, in this form nothing to worry about. Good side effect is that Takumi is getting more and more clinical and effective cause of his status as a super sub and he is becoming a excellent sub player. Something JNT missing and can be gold for the upcoming WC.
Minamino on the bench against Arsenal in the cup semi final, no Salah no Mane no Origi and a 17 year old unknown gets played ahead of him. I think Taki really needs to look elsewhere now.
I found that kind of weird since he has been doing good lately and always plays in the cup. He came on pretty early though.
Minamino apparently turned down a move to Leeds. Thats such a shame it would've been such a good chance for him at a great club under a great manager who needs someone in his mould in the 10.
Maybe he prefer keep playing with top players and top manager. Since Klopp give him playing time why not?
He's not getting playing time what on earth are you talking about. He's played 732 minutes all season in all competitions, only 86' in the premier league.
He gets a little amount of playing time this season. And he plays a good season, so you can understand him. Situation is not optimal but can be worse. When he plays like that till end of the season he will have around 10-14 goals and a couple of Assists, which would be quite impressive.
He's a supersub and that's how a supersub works. Those minutes are like 8 full matches, something that a japanese footballer can only dream in a dreamteam as Liverpool. Anyway the summer is not so far then let him enjoy his liverpool time and move to a weaker side 4 months later if Klopp choose to drop him for another player. Pre-season and first half EPL season in a weaker team is enough to prepare him for Qatar.
Feels weird to say but I 100% agree with teioh. Minamino is no Salah and it's a player of one of the best football teams in the world. It's to be expected that he can play only so much and tbh Klopp is a reasonable coach in general. Up to him to prove him wrong. Now, from a personal point of view, of course I would prefer him elsewhere so that he could play more. But I don't have any problems with his decision, honestly.
He was poor again today despite the goal I had high hopes for him but I think they will move him out in the summer , for sure
I'd love to see him play in the Bundesliga. Oh, and why not, joining his compatriots at Celtic is another option haha.
He would have to take a significant wage cut as well for Celtic to afford him, I do however think he's a player that would fit Ange's system, but I just don't know where he'd fit in the team, Celtic are pretty strong in midfield and up top right now.
He was not poor again. Was solid and a little anonymous like the hole Liverpool Team. And overall he played very solid this season every game. Gets very much praise from Klopp and English media. Of course he is no Salah or Mane but thats no shame. He has 7 goals this season which is quite impression. And by the way after my opionionen you can play as bad as possible when you score and take your chances. Takumi take his chances and is clinical like hell these days.
Poor or not he will barely get chances now with Diaz in and Mane Salah Elliot all coming back, His best bet will be to move in the summer for regular football. He has tallied up a decent amount of goals in the limited time he has played but I just don't think he is the level of Liverpool. Needs to take a step down and find his best football again I think. Otherwise he will be playing the very odd cup game and u23's if he remains in my opinion based on the depth they now have.
