Yeah it felt fair to me in that sense. Both cases you had a player getting hit in a slightly outstretched hand at close range. If you call ours a penalty, theirs was too.

But a red card was crazy for an unintentional handball from an only slightly outstretched hand from maybe a yard away. I thought they changed the rules on reds with penalties so that the ref could give a yellow when the penalty allows for the goal scoring opportunity after.

On the other hand, the ref might have thought that with Courtois in goal, it wasn't a clear opportunity for them....

 

That red card was BS. It wasn't intentional handball. Penalty decision is fine but not at all red card worthy.

 

This would have been very tough if Athletic scored that PK, the pressure would have been insane, thank you TBO!

I might be wrong, but I believe a handball blocking a shot that is on goal is an automatic red and the header looks like it was technically on-goal (think Courtois would have saved fairly easily).
