Don’t worry I’ve put you back on IGNORE .. win , win situation.

I won’t have to see you constantly finding fault with someone or other ... a quick look through your posts was actually rather enlightening and I don’t feel quite as victimised now :)

I’ve always found people announcing that they will put someone on ignore hilarious and slightly self-absorbed. I mean, I’m sure the ignored poster will just about manage to sleep fine after some random poster on a random forum on the internet puts him/her on ignore. Smh.

    In short, good riddance.

Anyway, it’s been quite funny seeing posters on the Madrid forum putting so much energy into excluding Barcelona from the potential suitors to sign Haaland.

Laporta’s comments have got them rattled lmao.

I have no idea if we are actually able to sign Haaland and I certainly don’t expect us to but even if only to see their reactions if we do land him would be so worth it.

Even with Coutinho's loan, we are still not able to register Torres. I also wonder how the Hell would we be able to go for Haaland. Dembele's contract is done in the summer, so I guess his salary would be off the books if we don't renew him. But Coutinho's loan would also be over unless Aston Villa actually buys him. Also, call me surprised if Coutinho would agree to a permanent deal there.

I don't know what trick Laporta has up his sleeve. He will either come out looking like a genius or a complete clown. Right now, I am leaning towards clown given some of the comments he has made.

Yeah, I think Coutinho only agreed to this loan deal because it’s a WC year and he needs to play in order to get selected.

Beyond this year there’s no reason for him to want to play for Aston freaking Villa. I can see him just coming back here for his last contractual season. This could be the final blow in our alleged pursuit of Haaland unless we can find a suitable buyer for him for his last year here.

Hope he does very well at Aston Villa in order to develop more interest.

Everything would have to fall into place for us to be able to even make an attempt at getting Haaland. Get Coutinho and Umtiti off our books and if it were up to me I’d also let Dembele go and get someone like Adeyemi as a replacement. Between Abde, Depay, Adeyemi, Ferran, Fati and Haaland we’ll have a great attacking line-up and back-ups.

i wouldn't be surprised if Laporta is just using Haaland as a smokescreen to cover his real moves. like when he kept talking about signing Beckham, and delivered Ronaldinho.

Beckham wasn't a smokescreen, it was a legit failed move. Beckham chose Madrid. AFAIK

The question is who would this “smokescreen” be for if Madrid sign the only two apparent generational talents at the moment? Who else is there realistically that would move the needle for us at the moment?

At the end of the day getting Ronaldinho instead of Beckham was a blessing. He paved the way for Messi and co. He’s one of my favorite players ever. Beckham would never have been able to do what Dinho did.

Dinho was to Rijkaard what Messi was to Pep.

I’d actually take Ronaldinho back now instead of Memphis

Beckham always let it be known that he was interested in moving to Madrid and only Madrid.
Laporta talked about signing Beckham but I never anticipted it would happen.
I'm not saying it was a smokescreen move by Laporta but I just never felt there was a chance to sign Beckham.
But signing Ronaldinho shocked the hell out of me and I loved the move. For me personally, I enjoyed watching the Dinho-Eto'o era (well, 2004-2006 anyway) more than any other.

I just saw one of the agent's involved in that deal talk about how Rosell crossed Dinho and his brother by chance at an airport around that time and took a picture with them and then convinced them to let him leak it to the public. Worth remember that as much as Rosell was a dirty, he was highly influential in getting Dinho.

Indeed! R10 was very much a Rosell signing. Probably the only thing I like about Rosell.
Eto'o was a genius Laporta signing.

I always thought he may have been leading ManU on because I doubt he'd want to live in Manchester. IIRC didn't he request a helicopter or jet on standby to travel to London as one of his requests ? I wonder how that would have gone with SAF :ROFLMAO:

I think I've mentioned this before, but that year when Barca signed Dinho, the club was in one their first tours of US and were playing Juve in Boston. I went to that game and Dinho literally signed days before and was flown to the friendly last minute to play if my memory serves me well. He played in the 2nd half. Made a couple of nice passes. Was probably jet lagged as fuk. Wish I still had some pictures of that game.

Ah so Haaland maybe possibly after all !!

The striker has a reported transfer release clause in his contract of ?68million that becomes active in this summer.

Dortmund will be powerless to stop him leaving if, and when, a team decides to meet that figure.

Man, I know that I should take every transfer rumor on these sports websites with a grain of salt but I really hate seeing us linked to certain players.

First it was Morata, now it’s Adama Traore as a replacement for Dembele. It’s like we’re chasing every average player out there. Today I saw Martial’s name floating around. He was en enormous talent but sadly he has stalled in his development. None of them will move the needle for us and all of them have already likely reached their ceiling and will be a downgrade on Dembele.

I’d rather not sign anyone than sign any of these players tbh.

Adama Traore is not good enough, which is why we let him go to begin with. He would be a major downgrade.

His full stats in all comps as a professional show he averages a goal every 12 games, an assist every 6 games. He is all speed, and no end product, like Dembele.

Dembele averages a goal every 4 games, an assist every 4 games, as well. Seems like less.

The club is actually looking at Oscar who has been playing in China for a while now. He could come on a loan making Dani Alves type of money. The player is open to it.

    Sheesh ...

Wtf are we doing seriously. Traore, Oscar, Morata FFS. I really want Xavi to succeed here but these moronic pursuits of average players isn’t the way to go.

Also, isn’t Oscar a midfielder? Aren’t we stacked in that department? Moreover, each of the midfielders we have currently is a step above Oscar. Makes 0 sense.

Unless they are counting on Pedri not being healthy and planning on more injuries. Otherwise ...

Thing is even if Pedri gets injured we have Frenkie, or Gavi or Nico or even Puig who could play in the same role.

I mean, if he wants to be our 5th choice midfielder and basically warm the bench for the same type of fee that we are paying Alves then sure.

Why would Oscar give up the millions he is earning in China though? Or is his contract ending?
