Do you think that Luxemburgo should keep subbing Ronaldo in games like today against Mallorca?

    My opinion on this:
In todays game against Mallorca ronaldo played very solid game. He wants to catch up etoo but Luxemburgo makes it even harder for him. I dont understan why he is subbing him because Ronaldo definietly plays better than Raul in most of the games. Why doesnt Raul get subbed? I would understand if ronaldo got subed if he would have scored a goal or 2 in the same game, or if he was performing quite poorly. However if he plays solid game like today against Mallorca then it cannot be happening. Also the game wasnt won yet because it was 15 minutes left and only 2-1 for real.

In my opinion, the team result comes before the individual. Ronaldo had plenty of chances to score.

I think Luxemburgo is very tactically aware. Solari does much more teamwork & helps out the defence. He had Owen & Raul on the pitch when he made the substitution so with Owen on the field he always had a goalscoring threat.

I don't see why not. Ronaldo should learn to take being subbed out like a professional instead of crying like a little baby about it....moreso when it's just for a couple of minutes.

Raul doesn't get subbed because that's the coach's decision (one that I agree with, I'd rather see him paired with Ronaldo or Owen, instead of a Ronaldo and Owen pairing) that should also be enough for Ronaldo as to why he gets subbed: it's the coach's decision.

yeh it is coaches desicion, and you could be right that when Ronaldo comes off there is a goalscoring threar from real. But I think Ronaldo should be playing more than Raul is. Ronaldo was probably in a bad mood also because of the way he couldnt finish today. He made him self chances but coudnt quite finish....

But i really like the reaction of the coach to that...He said its Ronaldos problem not his, he doesnt really care and it wont be taken against Ronaldo at all. Lux said that they wont even talk about it. O well topic is really closed now.

    i agree with you 100%

i havent seen raul do almost ANYTHING this whole year so i dont know why he would keep raul instead of ronni
ronaldo is a much more dangerous player
i even get surprised to see raul get one touch on the ball per game

This is a very, very good question, KrystianR9. I follow Barcelona and Real Madrid games every week and have made to myself the same question many times. The funny thing is that the (ESPN) commentators made the same question a few times. And the easiest way to answer it is to say that it's a coach's decision. Well, it's always a coach's decision. But why the coach, doesn't matter his name, always make the same decision: Ronaldo out, Anyone in? ;)

It's pretty obvious, in my opinion. In a team with so many stellar foreign players (and it applies to any team), it's a matter of proud to have at least a local who's untouchable. It's a political subject and the RM's board has to deal with it.

Luxemburgo is an old fox who knows exactly where to run to keep his skin safe. :) He will not change and Ronaldo will be subbed almost every game. Get used to it.

    p.s.

It's a strong signal of love for the team and the game when a player gets angry because of being subbed. When Ronaldo does not care if he's playing or not, then people should be worried.

Ronaldo welcomes even more competition in Real attack

MADRID, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Real Madrid striker Ronaldo says he would be delighted if the club were to continue signing more forwards as long as it did not stop him from keeping his place in the starting line-up.

"There's been talk about Adriano and Robinho coming here. In the end we'll have all the best forwards in the world at this club," the Brazilian international told a news conference on Thursday.

This is very simple...tactically speaking....it was the right move.

The game is 2-1 and Raul, Owen and Ronaldo are all on.

Owen is fresh...so its between Raul and Ronaldo who to sub off.

One major problem...Ronaldo isn't going to defend and u already have Owen up there so u take Ronaldo off. Raul plays half way in the midfield. The object with 10 minutes to go in a 2-1 game is not to give up that lead.

How long has this coach been here?....and Ronaldo is taking a temper tantrum already? Ronaldo is a royal pain in the ass. He complains even when they sub him off with 1 minute left.

What is he going to do if Real get another striker next year?

I would lose all faith in the intelligence of the magement if they get a Totti/Adriano class striker while we still have - not two but THREE - super star strikers who should all be starting in important matches. We're more than fine with Ronaldo, Raul and Owen.

    ------

Subbing Ronaldo against Mallorca was a good move for the reasons mentioned above. Luxemburgo will not keep subbing him in the future without a good reason and against Mallorca he had a good reason. I hope Ronaldo was just over emotional and has no negative vibes with Lux.

It wouldn't make sense to buy another striker....but this is Real....the odds are pretty good.

Perez will keep buying until the bench is filled with galacticos.

    This was on Realmadrid.com:

"- Are you fed up with your substitutions?
    - No, I accept everything. I never ask for explanations about the changes, or about why I play. It´s clear that there aren´t untouchable players, but there are people who are always touched, like me."

So lets stop the rumouring that Ronaldo is angry and has problems with Luxemburgo. Let's see what happens against Numancia. Beforehand I'd say it's quite probable that Ronaldo gets subbed if Real is leading e.g. 2-0 with 70 minutes on the clock.... and that would be just fine.

Ronaldo is going to be subbed out when ever Luxa decides that is what is best for the team. The sooner Ronaldo comes to grips with that, the better.

  21. A player has every right to feel bad about being regularly subbed.....if it were to happen to Raul it wouldn't be a surprise if he felt the same way! They are human after all!

From what I understand, it is not that Ronaldo is unhappy about being subbed it is that he is unhappy about it always being him who is subbed. Not one game this season has Raul out-played Ronaldo. How many times has Raul been subbed? mmmm

And you just don't get that Ronaldo should have had this dialog behind closed doors, you don't air your dirty laundry in public. And Ronaldo looks like a chump when Solari comes in & scores while he is belly aching.

What's your problem? I agree he shouldn't have shown his agression like that, but he did throw the jacket away behind closed doors - these doors just happend to have cameras in it.

And Raul looks like a chump when Owen comes on and scores while he is doing nothing, every single game.
