I hope so but I think Man Utd might need him. Especially since they are trying to offload Martial in January. They won't want to let 2 strikers depart at the same time.

I just hope we don't go after Martial. Maybe the most overpaid player in the world atm. €200k per week for a poor man's Fati? No thanks.

I am guessing we will try him as a false 9.

Cavani apparently wants away as he wants to be playing regularly next year leading up to the World Cup ..

That said United may well want to keep him as the other young strikers are all having a poor season.

United were very poor last night until Cavani came on as substitute ( and scored ) .

He was prepared to run whereas Cronaldo hadn’t done any of that in the first 60 minutes.

Interesting. I assume for summer 2022 when his current contract runs out?

The obvious issue is that he is a bit on the old side, granted he seems to be ageing gracefully. He can also play CB which is very useful for us. Too bad that he is right-footed as we lack a half decent left-footed CB. Plus we need a LB more than we need a RB, as Alba looks at least 3 years old than he really is (not sure why the club seems to be so down on Dest, given all of our bigger problems) .

    Excellent !!!

He’s probably the nearest I’ve seen to Puyol in recent years !!

Hope that’s for January not the summer though

He’s far , far better than any of our current defenders -also more determined and professional as well

I can think of a lot of worst deals than the Griezmann. Sure, he wasn't totally what we hoped we'd get but he still scored 15-20 goals per season for us playing out of position. Eden Hazard, for instance, was a far worse signing. He would have to stay at Madrid another 5 years just to reach AG's goal tally with Barca. lol

I am not sure if Pep leaving City in 2023 is 100%. But I think whoever a player signs a 4 or 5-year deal with he has to assume that there will be changes in the manager position over that time span, Barca included. Haaland would still learn a lot from Pep even if its just one season.

Under Xavi perhaps he could learn a few things too, but we just don't know. I'm not even sure this season will teach us anything about Xavi's coaching skills because the squad is such a mess.

Can someone help me understand these growing Morata rumors? He scored like 5 goals in 18 matches at Juve and has been very ineffective for the Spanish NT. He will solve absolutely nothing for us based on those facts. Might as well keep Depay as our striker.

I hoped that we signed Torres for that ST role but now with Dembele being a snobby cnut he might have to take over that role on the wing.

Well, Morata is still an upgrade on LdJ and Braithwaite so there's that.

I haven't really been following the rumors but Morata doesn't strike me as someone that we could get cheaply.

I agree on LdJ, just about edges him, but that’s not saying much at all. Wouldn’t say that he’s an upgrade on Braithwaite though, not to mention Depay who’s also been pretty bad of late.

As far as not being someone we could get cheaply says even more about the absurdity that is the possibility of us actually considering a player like him. I hope he stays far, far away from this club.

Morata is twice as good as LdJ . So instead of 4 goals a season he can possibly get us 8.

Precisely. Lmao. Saying he’s better than LDJ means absolutely nothing. Especially seeing as apparently he won’t come cheap. Just a hard and easy pass IMO.

Morata has some good attributes like his off ball movement, link up.

But his fatal weakness is his weak mentality. Imagine when he does something bad and media starts slay him.
