A complete shot in the dark but does Siam Hudson come out of left field and go back to Colorado Spring and take the Colorado College job.
I honestly can't see that happening. Hudson has done a good job at LSU and still has work to do. Additionally, I wouldn't think that Colorado wouldn't be able to pay as much and also has higher academic standards than LSU has which theoretically would make it a more difficult school to recruit to. LSU probably accepts 75+% of applicants vs < 15% for Colorado College. Personally, I couldn't imagine living in a city like Baton Rouge over a city like Colorado Springs but not everyone values the outdoors like I do. I'm a square peg in a round hole every time I'm in the south.
Looks like Western Illinois is going to pony up and hire a women's coach: https://www.higheredjobs.com/search/details.cfm?JobCode=177748292&Title=Head Women's Soccer Coach
Shelley is a lovely human for those who know her. She is a little shy actually which may come off as pinched. She is very competitive yes but also a truly great person...just fyi
They should hire the assistant that was basically in charge of the women’s team…she did a great job the past couple of years.
In regards to UCLA, how is this hire any different than when they hired BJ Snow? His background at the time consisted of 4 years as a high school coach, 1 year volunteer assistant at UCLA, and 4 years as an assistant at UCLA. Honest question about what the difference is.
Not Sian either...will have more tomorrow. Someone with great D1 and National team playing experience. Head coaching experience at D3 and assistant experience at D1. Exactly why the hire makes sense...CC is a Div 3 school with two D1 sports so academically much more like a D3.
Well with a new coaching staff coming into UCLA all players, regardless of playing time, injuries, contracts, or depth on the roster will start from ground zero and should provide for great competition to earn playing time
the fact that they haven’t posted it on any Nationally prominent job board leads me to believe they probably will hire her.
She took the team to the NCAA tournament. And, she has yet to coach a team of her recruits. Talk about jumping the gun.
Again, super helpful. I know who the new UCLA coach is but I'm not talking on an anonymous forum until the players know and then everyone will know. If you really know, but don't want to reveal it, or you really care about the person's privacy, why are you even posting on this thread? or about this position? I have a feeling you don't know at all who the new UCLA coach will be.
Not only do most of the coaches know (small world), the players all know. There are players at different schools that played club together that knew as soon as someone hit the campus. Speaking to the team is the right thing to do, but a mere formality. And with everyone home on break, that won’t even happen except for maybe a Zoom.
^ Patberg would be good and she has D1 HC experience prior to Emory. Emory has very high academic standards so she has experience in recruiting the types of athletes that excel in the classroom and on the field. That said, Patberg and her husband, Kurt, are fairly entrenched in the Atlanta community and I don’t see her leaving that. She’s a great person and a great coach.

Speaking of bad hires, I’m hearing from a club coach in Colorado that several athletes went into the administration after the season about the new staff and there may be an investigation into the conduct of the head coach especially. I am waiting on specific details but the word abuse has been said to the department. In this day and age who knows what abuse is and how it is defined but is appears there could be something happening there.
If your talking about CSU, I'm hearing a lot of the same chatter from my club contacts in Colorado. Hagan makes the team say a christian prayer before games which hasn't gone down well with the non-christians on the team. Her fitness test to be able to play is better suited to an iron-women contest. But most of the players don't like, trust or respect her in any way and they let incoming recruits know when they come on a visit.
If this is true, it is not legal. CSU is a state school and is subject to constitutional requirements of the separation of church and state.
Yes same Keri as IWU, and Asst at Texas. She is the new coach at Colorado College. Also UCLA is down to Jen Klein and Kia McNeil.
Eddie you can hate on me all you want but I think if you look through my posts i have a very strong track record overall on here.
For the record now official official https://cctigers.com/news/2021/12/2...r-keri-sanchez-named-womens-soccer-coach.aspx
