Yedlin played 90 minutes in a disappointing 1-1 draw today against Karagumruk.

Galatasaray sit in 4th, only 2 points back from 2nd. The problem for them and the other contending clubs is that Trabzonspor is absolutely soaring in this early phase of the season with 9 wins and 3 draws.

Dre has been and continues to be a very good CONCACAF player, which is expected for a Championship, EPL, Galatasaray, Champions and Europa League vet. A decade ago we would've been (and were) counting our lucky stars for him and today most "fans" see him as a cast-off

How jaded we have become. A decade or three ago, we would have been happy to have a player in Europe at all. Now if you are not in a top three or five league and team, you are not that good. Just for perspective, Chicharito is player of the year on his team in MLS and he hasn't been relevant in Europe for years as well as being called up for Mexico. The level in Europe is high even when you get to the second tier. I'm not knocking the growth of MLS or it's potential, but the difference in level is real. DY, as well as ream and a few others who spent most of their career in Europe have a lot to offer and if they are still there, they are still good.

what? Robbie Russell played in the Champions League group stages over a decade ago but never had a usmnt cap because of Spector & Dolo. The 2010 WC team had 3 players in MLS

The Big 5 leagues in Europe is top, everyone knows this. The rest of your post strikes me as a bit of an exaggeration. Yedlin’s quality dates back to Seattle when he was a WC player. He’s been boosted by a ton of Premier League appearances now he’s at one of the biggest Turkish clubs. Ream’s level in the Championship is unbelievable. He’s one of the most effective defenders in that league of any nationalities in recent memory (looking at his 3rd promotion).

different players.. not one is really pushing for Chris Durkin, Haji Wright, Ian Harkes, Holmes, or even CCV callups at the moment.

chicarito isn’t necessarily the best example, he’s older. Robin Lod was just the MOTM for Finland in a win at Bosnia. Buksa has done well for Poland, etc.

Perhaps you misunderstood my response . The previous poster noted Yedlin was perceived to be a cast off. I was pointing out that some posters only consider a top five league player as good enough to play on the USMNT. I think anyone in the second tier would be a very good candidate to play. I've been a fan since the 80's, before being the host of a WC. I used to scan the web for news until I found BS and that was about 97. So I remember when news of Joe Max Moore was big. As for my chich reference, I was only trying to point out the difference in level. You alluding to Durkin, et al is what I was trying to point out. We have many guys over there that are at a potentially higher level than MLS and that is great. Look at Scally, love him. Great story. If the can get there, the place to be is across.

Agreed that Yedlin fully deserves consideration still.

Many, many strong, smaller country national sides make up a few spots on their teams (and usually even starters) from domestic leagues that are not top 4-5 (Holland, Denmark and some of the Eastern European countries come to mind). It has not affected their ability to be major threats at major championships. Yedlin has top 4 league experience and a lot of National Team experience- and we need more of that in the National Team anyway. And his performances have been fine (for the most part) and worthy of selection as of late.

Big game against Fenerbahce. Although the three big Istanbul teams are 7th, 8th, and 9th. 1-1 at halftime.

Wow those are some crazy games. Can anyone explain how Ozil got everybody furious early on and collecting yellow cards? Clearly a lot of bad blood all the way through and after the game.

Solid starter in a disappointing campaign. A couple of bad matches and missed a little because of injury.

Gala tie Lazio 0-0 and win a tough group with Lazio and Marseille. DY goes 90 again and it appears his Galatasaray career did not end in August.

Yedlin started, played 90, and earned a yellow in a 1-0 away defeat to Sivasspor.

A blunder in the back involving Muslera and the center backs resulted in the winning goal for Sivasspor. Yedlin was upfield and not involved.

Time to add Gala to the list of teams that used to be at the top until recently but since have fallen (Juve, Barcelona, Lille, Omonia, and Young Boys).

Bench today. Dunno if it's rotation, Terim trying to shake things up (which is needed), or what.

Quadruple sub in the 73rd down 2-0 doesn't include Yedlin, and uses up subs 2-5 on the day. DNP and will be a challenge to get any points out of this.

Rotation most likely. They've played on the 9th, 13th, 18th (Yedlin played 90 the first two, over an hour the last one), played today, and have to play another league game on Saturday and the Cup game on Tuesday. The one on Saturday is a must-win.

Sacha Boey, the presumed starter at RB, is back from injury.

But also, Yedlin has a new coach:
