According to someone on Facebook Trevoh chalobah has rejected England to play for Sierra Leone. Lying tw*t
Congratulations to Marcelo Flores who has been called up to the Mexican National team. 2003 born Arsenal bought him from Ipswich age 14/15 he’s been excellent ever since! Been involved in England on occasions! But Mexico is the best imo Comes from a great family too 👍 pic.twitter.com/mySPuNudHN— TheSecretScout (@TheSecretScout_) November 30, 2021
He's already been called up by Canada before so they probably want to get ahead of them. It's also not the full strength Mexico squad, it's one of those friendlies mainly for domestic based players.
He's played half a match of Under 23 football, that's a very early call up! not quite as early as what I saw from Romania. Who happens to be Canadian born as well. https://www.goal.com/en/news/enes-s...arned-from-messi-la-masia/bltb5e1210190d795dd
We can sugar coat this all we like but it just feels like a cap tie competition between some desperate Nations. If he has his heart set on a certain National team then let him play when ready, not thrust onto International football way before he’s ready. Just let him play for their Development sides first and let him play some senior Club football before any senior call ups.
Having to communicate through translators in and around the dressing room and hotels must be a buzz when playing for your Country
Yeah I know but still bizarre concept of playing for a Country when you need translators, that’s my point. I’m not knocking the players, they obviously just want to play International football to enhance their career and reputation but it’s just seems odd imo.
It’s not as strange as the The Belgian team who talk in English because neither French or Flemish is spoken by every player.
Granted but at least they are all in a unique situation together. A bit different for players like Cash and Brereton and with the Countries they play for.
both players have a parent from the country in question, why do you assume they cannot speak the language?
Why assume that anyone's assuming? You can just Google it. Matty Cash (Nov 2021): "I only speak a few words of Polish but my mum speaks it fluently and she has been helping me brush up." Chile coach Martin Lasarte on Brereton (Jun 2021): "It's difficult to be in the starting XI without speaking Spanish. But with everyone's help, he is adapting to a new culture."
Considering Poland's manager is Portuguese, I wouldn't be surprised if they spoke English in the dressing room.

And if he is even eligible. If he has a passport though a parent or grandparent obtaining citizenship via naturalisation then he might not be eligible under FIFA rules.
Former #Spurs defender Steven Caulker — who scored on his only appearance for England — will represent Sierra Leone at #AFCON2021. He finds himself in the same group as Ivory Coast’s Wilfried #Zaha… who also played on Caulker’s England debut… before changing nationalities too.— Dom Smith (@MrDomSmith) December 30, 2021

Does anyone know the history on Broja, did we ever try to call him up or was Albania the only option for him?
