Ya know, one advantage of having an FO that doesn't really "do" advertising (cough- DCU-cough), is that such an FO will never be responsible for anything as hideously laughable (or laughably hideous) as MPF.
The slogan and graphics for that campaign was great. The actual aftermath of it sort of soured it all.
I have Marco era training sweats from when we could go to the training grounds and by their extra/throw aways. Got a warmup jacket as well.
This used to be the time of year where we used to deny that there was an upcoming used equipment sale.
I thought of that. I say: bullshite ! As silly as It Takes More undoubtedly was, and notwithstanding the occasional (?) irony of that slogan (given the FO's perpetual lethargy), it simply cannot hold a candle to Metro Playoff Fever. Consider: -- Did It Takes More feature silly-assed pets wearing slogan-logoed crap? Eff no. -- Did It Takes More pay for a staged photo shoot of some Joe Satriani wanna-be? Shite no. -- Did It Takes More (or any of our other lame attempts at sloganeering) ever include issuing cute little themed hats to the fans? -- Was It Takes More so bad, so laughable cringeworthy, that it survived for years after the fact as the recurring butt of jokes for DCU haters? Uhhh. No. Give the Laughing Cows Front Orafice some credit.
"We Win Trophies" would have been the best advertising slogan in the history of sports if they'd actually won a trophy that year.
England's WNT beat Latvia 20-0. Don't they have to start taking players off of the side that's up for every goal past 10 differential?
actually, in one of (the?) biggest youth rec "league" in the DC metro area (SFL) you pull after going up 4 goals - all the way up to U19.
Although missing their best player sure made Philly's B squad look pretty competitive. Overall, I agree with you.

"We were dominant" Oh ... except we had no goals. https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-...ated-canada-despite-world-cup-qualifying-loss
Discounting the empty netter at the end, Canada essentially had two good chances and buried one of them (and got a miracle save from Turner on the other). The US held possession by about 2 to 1 and Canada had no real answers for the press. The problem was the utterly static nature of that front line and the very pedestrian play of Pulisic. Once Berhalter came out of his coma and put Morris, Pepi and Arriola in the match, there was movement and danger. I admire Zardes's story, but he's a statue in the middle, Aronsen is really one dimensional (run, run and run some more) and Pulisic has been shitting the bed for the past two matches. Matt Doyle says Pulisic should be out right because he constantly inverts when on the left and dribbles into the "hurt locker." I tend to agree. The difference is that Canada has Larin and David -- the US has 3 stiffs and more in the waiting room for forwards.
