I was looking for FULL games from following teams, but couldn't find anything: Real Madrid 50s Manchester United 60s Hungary WC 54 Brazil WC 58 Portugal WC 66 Holland WC 74 Any chances of getting these? Are there any sites where I can watch full WC/CL games (~1954 - now)?
Go to the collectors forum. There are many traders there who will be happy to supply you with a multitude of games involving those teams (less so Hungary 54 and Real Madrid 1950s due to the lack of footage).
So far nothing regarding Real Madrid of the 1950s has surfaced (only snippets). No complete games of Hungary '54 have surfaced so far. Regarding 1960s Manchester Utd, this is what I have: 1962-63 Man Utd 3-1 Leicester City 90 mins (FA Cup Final) 1965-66 Benfica 1-5 Man Utd 27 mins 1967-68 Man City 0-0 Man Utd 40 mins (1st Div.) 1967-68 Real Madrid 3-3 Man Utd 90 mins 1967-68 Man Utd. 4-1 Benfica 120 mins 1968-69 Man Utd. 3-0 RSC Anderlecht 68 mins. Regarding Brazil '58 France 2-5 Brazil 80 mins (superb quality, recently became available from Russian archives) I think Sweden 2-5 Brazil (the final) is also available in high quality, but I don't have that game yet. I only have a rather poor quality version that has no sound, but it is the full 90 minutes. Portugal '66 -> all games are available in full length Holland '74 -> dito
Yes, it is available in such a quality. That's a Russian version. By the way, schwuppe, if you have nothing to trade for with game's collectors, you could try to download some games from ********.com. That site is a paradise for people who are searching matches from the past, although I'm not sure if you can register yourself these days.
I have all WC Final games from 58 to 2006 in one DVD. All except 1 (62) is in Russian. If anyone is intersted PM me and we'll work out a deal.
In the meantime, among other 1950s games, a 1959 Real Madrid vs OGC Nice encounter is available in full on YouTube
1965-66 Cup Winners' Cup semi final, second leg, complete game, Borussia Dortmund (Emmerich, Libuda, Held, Tilkowski) v West Ham United (Moore, Hurst, Peters)
Borussia Mönchengladbach facing Austria Wien in the 1976-77 Champions Cup, it was the second leg. M'Gladbach had to overcome a 0-1 deficit. In this complete game, one can see how vital Berti Vogts was to Gladbach's attacking endeavours. People today think of Vogts as a strictly defensive 'terrier' marker who did not offer much else. But this game shows how instrumental Vogts was in boosting his team's offense. But not in the way of a classic 'attacking full back' who would overlap constantly to swing in cross after cross, but see for yourself .... Interestingly, Vogts is predominantly seen attacking on the left side, despite wearing his usual #2 on the back.
Full match Germany v Soviet Union (15 September 1956) 15.09.1956: Germany v Soviet Union (in Hanover) (F) Referee: Ellis (England), attendance: 86,000 At the start of the new season Herberger tested various selections in test games against club teams (4-1 vs Nürnberg/Fürth, 2-3 vs Köln, 1-2 vs Kaiserslautern). These test games brought many new insights. The most important being that Eckel, Fritz Walter and Rahn were in good form again and Georg Stollenwerk convinced as a full back. Plus the insight that the team of Oslo and Stockholm was still lacking in some aspects to be fully relied upon in international competitions. Still, for the next game the players that beat Norway and drew in Sweden made up most of the roster. With Posipal, Fritz Walter and Hans Schäfer again four “Heroes of Berne” were on board. The only newcomer was Wilhelm (no caps). German roster: GK: Herkenrath, Wilhelm DF: Juskowiak, Posipal, Karl Schmidt, Wewers HB: Eckel, Erhardt, Szymaniak FW: Fritz Walter, Waldner, Schröder, Biesinger, Pfaff, Vollmar, Hans Schäfer Germany: 1 Herkenrath – 2 K.Schmidt, 5 Posipal, 3 Juskowiak – 4 Eckel, 6 Erhardt – 8 Schröder, 10 F.Walter (c) – 7 Waldner, 9 Biesinger (52. Schäfer), 11 Vollmar Soviet Union: 1 Yashin – 2 Tishchenko, 5 Bashashkin, 3 Ogonkov – 4 Maslonkin, 6 Netto – 8 Ivanov, 10 Salnikov – 7 Tatushin, 9 Streltsov, 11 Ilyin (64. Moser)
Sara is doing the same from Austria's right flank, from the very few I've watch so far. Interesting match-up within the match.
