I believe that 20 out of the current 28 MLS teams will initially field teams in year 1 of the Next Pro League. The other 8 will join in 2023. It is still a glaring "poor business metric" for Austin not to join in year 1.
Cats are useless yet cute 25% of the time. Dogs are truly mans best friend. And Precourt doesn't have enough money to fund a 2 team which is surprising to no one on this board. There I summed up the last 2 days of this thread.
Absolutely. Agree with Tony 2 Chins one hundred percent. The stallions who will take Austin to the promised land of competitive soccer will not be born for another eighty years -- so why throw good money after bad right now??
Cats suck. I keep trying to train mine to be more like a dog and she is failing horribly. As proof that dogs >> cats -- Some Philly police pups were barking as the Avalanche’s J.T. Compher was rehab skating.“You’re like my personal cheerleader,” Compher said.Compher greeted them afterward and one of the pups did his business right at the center of the logo. Stuff happens I guess. pic.twitter.com/6OXktO1Fhw— Jordan Hall (@JHallNBCS) December 6, 2021 QED.
Austin not joining the league immediately means only one thing: TwoButtons couldn't find a sponsor. They don't do one damn thing unless someone else is paying for it. OTOH they'd field a competitive midget whore oil wrestling team if they could find someone to foot the bill.
This certainly didn’t come out of nowhere, but I wonder what the temperature is at USL headquarters… they have a number of expansion teams coming in, but this is still A LOT of clubs pulling straight out all at once From one perspective it might be an opportunity for USL to establish more legitimacy by not being so obviously and overtly under MLS’s shadow. At the very least, with the business models of both leagues being so different, how this develops should be pretty interesting (albeit extremely murky).
Montreal already promotes a bunch of youth players to the first team, even sold one to Barcelona a couple years back (Tabla, he busted though). They probably either think they don’t need it, or the organization is constantly in chaos so its a clusterfvck trying to get things done. Plus, Saputo is cheap.
Garber says @AustinFC exceeded their expectations. Give a shoutout to Anthony Precourt, says the move there was traumatic for him and his family. #MLS— Miki Turner (@turneresq) December 7, 2021 Don is a psychopath. This is not something a functioning empath says.
Hol' Up. Did Sneaky Don really just leave it at that, or was there follow up comments that Miki missed?
Anthony Precourt is an MLS owner. Do people really think the commissioner is going to pull a knife on him just to make us happy?
No, but he doesn’t need to go out of his way to give him a feelings trophy for a situation he engineered.
Not at all. Just would not have thought he would have said an owner and their family are traumatized over starting the newest team in the league.
How in the hell was it "traumatic" for his family which a) might have attended 4 or 5 games total over five years and b) was 4000 miles away when the old man's dirty dealings went down? Unless his children sat around d reading BigSoccer where people like me were calling Daddy a contemptible swine, how would they have even known? That's just ridiculous. What a piece of shit Garber is.
Austin not getting a “2” team is like the kid who was the only kid in class who didn’t get the new PlayStation because his parents were too poor.
Well you should know as well or better then anyone that BS is running off antiquated software year and equipment that was old during the Bush administration
Ya know, I've looked at Reddit (to pick an "alternative" at random) from time to time. It's supposed to be one of the "cool" places. It's got the look and feel of a slightly less awful Geocities BB run by some pedophile who got fired from AT&T. I have no idea how Kids These Days think it's hot shit, aside from the fact that they literally were not alive back in the 90s and don't recognize shitty UX that was killed off 30 years ago, so it seems awesome or something.
