With the really heavy December schedule I can't see how Jurgen does anything other than make multiple changes for this one.
Kelleher Neco Phillips Konate Tsmikas Morton Chamberlain Milner Salah Origi Minamino Threw Salah in there because he never seems to need a rest and wants to break records by scoring more goals. I also couldn’t think of anyone else to put in the right wing because I believe Kaide Gordon is not eligible. Hopefully Keita and Gomez are fit enough to make an appearance off the bench.
Just watching the Manure CP game. I shows again how important it is to score in the first 20 minute press. MU all over CP and couldn’t score in that time giving CP time and room to come back at them. Score early. Make them play our game.
I'd normally be in the "don't be daft" camp and vote for a mixed lineup. but in this case I agree with you 100%.
I think there’s a big difference between this one and the Porto one. The Porto one was right after an international break, we had just destroyed Arsenal, and the players needed the game to keep up the momentum and to build their fitness. We also had very few players available due to injury. Klopp didn’t want to hang a much or kids out to dry in the Champions League. This game comes after a really intense week of two emotional away games. The players could use the rest. We also have more players available. If you look at my lineup above, we can make 10 or 11 changes and still field a team or mostly senior players who have experience. This game is also away from home, and there might be a few players who don’t even board the plane and stay back home to get ready for Villa.
Klopp on Morton: "There are a lot of really good young players in this club at the moment. Tyler is one of them. He's not the only thing. I think we will have more young boys tomorrow, travelling with us and in the squad. They are only with us because they have the quality."
Yeah, should be the full backups IMO. Why not get rest for the first 11, the last thing this squad should be concerned about is momentum or whatever. I've never understood any pushback that would come from this thinking, in this situation. It's literally a free game. Have fun, Milan. Do your worst.
Morton, Conor Bradley, Elijah Dixon-Bonner and goalkeeper Harvey Davies among those traveling. Klopp said he must rotate (and makes it sound like it will be a lot) but also said he can't change everyone. I'm guessing: Ali, Neco, Konate, Matip, Tsimikas, Morton, Ox, ???, Minamino, Jota, Origi. Who knows?
I had him in at first but then I saw a pic of Ali in Milan. Not sure he would travel to be a backup, but maybe so.
I’m glad I signed up for this streaming program for CL footy. But they also have some terrific movies and shows that are well worth watching.
Lol - Salah and Mane start! Klopp just doesn’t like playing completely weak teams. Alisson, Neco, PHILLIPS, ibou, Tsmikas Morton ox Minamino Salah Origi mane
Hopefully they both come off more quickly... really don't understand the logic here but no reason to think Klopp doesn't have a good reason for this. It's completely lost on the likes of me.
Down 1-0. ball sneaks through in a corner - Alisson makes the initial save - but no one there to clean up. play starts with a terrible pass from Williams. Minamino whiffs on clearing the corner.
Minamino always fails to impress me - he just doesn’t seems like he belongs in the team. glad we only spent 7.5 on him.
