Anyone know if any of the 3 networks is going to be covering the ACN? Some potentially great matches are ahead, and Im hoping I'll be able to follow Toure and Eboue throughout the tournament.
All 32 games will be live on French-language satellite TV network 3ATelesud (available via DISH Network satellite TV), or via pay-subscription broadband Internet at www.telesud.us
Man, they really went with an obscure channel. At least tv5 has cable distribution. Anyone know if 3ATelesud secured the rights worldwide and the US ones just happened to be thrown in (or they sought to license it to someone else and didn't like the rights fee offers). Seems like a weird choice.
I recently was surfing the boards and the AFC fans were discussing how it was available in the US on three outlets last time (2006): 1. 3A Telesud (it said that the pregame was in French, but the game commentary was in English) 2. ART (Arab Radio-Television) (games in Arabic) 3. TV-5 (in French, but only the knockout rounds were shown). All three are available on DISH Network, but I have FIOS, which does not carry 3A Telesud, but does have the other two. Does anyone know if ART will be carrying the games again this time around?
ART will be carrying all the games live as they did in the last 6 years as I recall. They also broadcast the games that are at the same time on a second channel ARTMV live. Also They are planning on lunching ART prime sport which It could be available on time for this competition for more extended coverage (replays, highlights....)
And what's your source? In past years they used to have so many commercials on art america about african nations games...not this year! I have seen any...
Yes. A last minute goal yesterday put the commentator on fire. The channel put a lot of ads that it'll broadcasting all games live. It will broadcast the games that are on the third round that starts at the same time on it's other channel ARTMV
Anybody know what the status is of rights for the 2022 tournament? I know ESPN has the CAF qualifiers, but I hadn't heard if this extends to the Cup of Nations.
I believe beIN has the rights to the AFCON qualifiers and tournament. Lat I saw, this was their inventory of soccer rights: Ligue 1 Copa Libertadores Copa Sudamericana Turkish SüperLig African Cup Of Nations
Definitely on Bein during a recent Ligue 1 match the “commentator” said that the entire tournament would air on Bein Sport.
