I wouldn't go that far. For sure in the final 23.

What is that "long balls" stat exactly? Are we talking passing? Defending?

I watched most of this match. I thought Chris was very very good. I agree about “passing the eye test” part.
He made a couple of world class saving plays (announcers words) and they were top level stuff. His long passing is a joy to watch.
I really hope he can find a team of his own soon.

That little moment at 1:14 when he strips the attacker and the guy does a little pouty frustrated hop. Straight to my veins please.

Was good to see him doing his thing. So good to see him developing.

I don’t know how it’s going in relation to what Bayern wants, however. That second goal is just not something you wanna see. His positioning is getting better, but it feels like he’s reacting too slowly…probably due to thinking too much.

I wonder how much the new responsibilities he has playing in the back 3 is impacting him? Maybe I’m reading too much into it. Either way, it’s the work!

I think yo have it right. That’s why playing time is so important. Only way to gain confidence and learn. That he is able to do that with the trust of a former coach at this level is great. Overall there is a lot more to be positive of and like.
Will he be a Bayern regular? Probably not. Maybe he gets a real extended look if Sule leaves. That wold still be as a sub in all likelihood. Either way, someone decent to good team in Top 5 is going to want him. No doubt abbot that. Makes me happy.

2 big performances in a row for him. I really wish Hoffenheim would outright buy him, been two straight excellent loans and they’ve given him room to grow a lot.

He’s at times been somewhat shaky with the US but I really would like for him to lock down a spot in the XI sooner rather than later — upside is so strong. Just needs to keep developing his positioning and decision making at Hoffenheim. The first couple months of next season will be absolutely critical for him pre-WC — can’t afford to get stuck in limbo land at Bayern given the timing aspect.
