For the following season, there are sum-ups included in the short reports, but in the very beginning of the season, only.

    1970/1971 (22 times, 17 players)

Day #1 : Pavel Kouba, Nîmes v Angoulême, 3-1 (Angoulême GK). "We don't know what Nîmes will be worth with its two Romanian international players but the team already cut a fine figure. Without an incandescent Kouba between the Angoulême goalposts, it's not 3 but 8 or 10 goals that Nîmes would have scored".

Day #4 : Fleury Di Nallo, Lyon v Ajaccio, 3-0, (1 goal). "A the origin of the renewal of Lyon, one man, who was once sacred "Prince du Gerland', Fleury Di Nallo of course. Brimming with enthusiasm, full of drive, of lucidity, Di Nallo was of all the actions, well seconded, it is true, by the hard-working Perrin and Coluna.

Day #7 : Robert Rico, Red Star v Rennes, 1-5 (3 goals. LW)

    Day #8 : Claude Papi, Bastia v Saint-Etienne, 4-2 (2 goals, 1 pk. IL in a 4-2-4)
Day #8 : Michel Watteau, Sochaux v Ajaccio, 5-1 (midfielder here)

Day #9 : Robert Péri, Angoulême v Valenciennes, 1-0 (Angoulême CB)

    Day #10 : Salif Keita, Rennes v Saint-Etienne, 0-3 (2 goals)

    Day #16 : Michel Mézy, Nîmes v Ajaccio, 4-0 (2 goals, midfielder)

    Day #19 : Henri Michel, Nantes v Nîmes, 5-1 (2 goals, midfielder)

Day #23 : Christian Laudu, Metz v Red Star, 2-2 (Red Star GK)

    Day #24 : Jean-Marc Guillou, Angers v Marseille, 2-1 (midfielder)
    Day #24 : Pavel Kouba (2), Nantes v Angoulême, 0-0

    Day #26 : Salif Keita (2), Saint-Etienne v Bastia, 6-0 (4 goals)

    Day #27 : François M'Pelé, Bastia v Ajaccio, 1-4 (4 goals)

    Day #28 : Roger Magnusson, Marseille v Valenciennes, 5-2

Day #29 : Dominique Baratelli, Valenciennes v Ajaccio, 0-0 (Ajaccio GK)

    Day #30 : Jean-Pierre Giordani, Bastia v Angoulême, 3-1 (1 goal, RW)

    Day #34 : Henri Michel (2), Nantes v Bordeaux, 2-2 (midfielder)

    Day #35 : Salif Keita (3), Saint-Etienne v Sedan, 8-0 (6 goals)

Day #36 : Louis Landi, Angers v Nîmes, 1-2 (Nîmes GK)

    Day #37 : Salif Keita (4), Saint-Etienne v Ajaccio, 5-2 (4 goals)

Day #38 : Raymond Keruzoré, Reims v Rennes, 1-1 (Rennes IR)

    1971/1972 (13 times, 10 players)

    Day #3 : Salif Keita & Jean-Michel Larqué, Saint-Etienne v Reims, 9-1 (4 and 3 goals. '3, '12, '19, '89 for Keita)

    Day #6 : Henri Michel, Angoulême v Nantes, 2-5 (midfielder in a 4-2-4)

    Day #11 : Michel Mézy, Nîmes v Lyon, 2-0 (midfielder in a 4-2-4)

Day #13 : Hervé Revelli, Nice v Lille, 3-1 (hat-trick in the first half)

    Day #21 : Raymond Keruzoré, Marseille v Rennes, 1-1 (midfielder in a 4-2-4)
Day #21 : René Gallina, Lyon v Angers, 1-2 (Angers goalkeeper)

    Day #24 : Salif Keita (2), Saint-Etienne v Metz, 2-0 (2 goals, 2', 61')
    Day #24 : Michel Mézy (2), Nîmes v Sochaux, 2-1

    Day #25 : Bernard Lacombe, Lyon v Red Star, 5-2 (3 goals incl. 1 pk. 71' pen., 89', 90')
Note : this comes after several good to very good performances since some time in this season. There's also an article that came after this game that is entitled : "Lacombe, a golden opportunity for Lyon and for the French team of tommorow". Here, we can read that Lacombe played with his noise broken (again) since the 5th minute and scored one of his three goals with a header.

Day #27 : Jean-Michel Larqué (2), Rennes v Saint-Etienne, 2-4 (inside left in a 4-2-4. Bereta is at midfield, Santini at IR/CF whilst Keita, the usual IL, is absent from the team until day #30. The team will be shaped like that during this time but then with less success, as Lyon beat St.-Etienne in St.-Etienne by 1-0 and Ajaccio also beat them in Corsica by 2-1 right after that. On Day #30, ASSE beat OM, without Skoblar, by 2-1)

    Day #29 : Nestor Combin, Metz v Reims, 3-0 (IR in a 4-2-4, 2 goals)

    Day #32 : Jean-Pierre Dogliani, Bastia v Bordeaux, 1-0 (midfielder in a 4-2-4)

One observation : Herbin (as CB, St.-Etienne) is often rated with 5 stars. Trésor (Ajaccio) got a good number of 5 too, way more than in the past season. As for Bosquier (of Marseille), to stay on the CB's, he's a "straight 4", no more, no less; looks like he's rated with 4 stars every single time when earlier he was a bit like of an "either a 5 or a 3", perhaps.

Etoile d'Or : Robert Herbin (Saint-Etienne CB), for the second time after the 1964-1965 season and this, for his last season as a player. He'll play one more game (and score one more goal) as a player-coach, in 1974-1975.

Day #3 : Leif Eriksson, Sochaux v Nice, 0-1 (Nice, at outside right in this match)

    Day #6 : Serge Chiesa, Lyon v Angers, 3-1 (3 goals, outside right in a 4-2-4)

Day #10 : Georges Bereta, Nîmes v Saint-Etienne,, 1-2 (1 goal, IR in this match)

    Day #13 : Nico Braun, Metz v Bastia, 3-0 (3 goals)

    Day #15 : Hervé Revelli, Saint-Etienne v Nancy, 6-0 (3 goals)

    Day #18 : Nico Braun (2), Metz v Paris FC, 4-0 (3 goals; 62', 88', 89' pk.)

    Day #20 : Nico Braun (3), Metz v Saint-Etienne, 5-1 (4 goals;32', 47', 73', 89')
    Day #20 : Jean-Marc Guillou, Angers v Strasbourg, 3-3 (midfielder in a 4-2-4)

Day #23 : Laurent Pokou, Rennes v Lyon, 1-0 (1 goal, launched in the depth at full speed)

    Day #27 : Laurent Pokou (2), Rennes v Marseille, 3-1 (2 goals)

Day #28 : Albert Poli, Angers v Nice, 4-1 (midfielder, 1 goal, the opener, 59')
    Born Alberto Poli in Italy.

    Day #29 : Laurent Pokou (3), Rennes v Saint-Etienne, 1-0 (1 goal)
A goal described by Robert Herbin as 'one of the most beautiful goal ever seen : control with the right foot, dummy with the body and sudden shot with the right foot that beat Curkovic'.
Michel Vautrot : 'I have directed the greatests... Pelé, Platini, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Giresse... but I've never seen anything that compares with Pokou in a game between Rennes and Saint-Etienne')

    Day #32 : Jean-Pierre Tokoto, Bordeaux v Nice, 4-0 (2 goals, IL)

    Day #33 : Serge Chiesa (2), Lyon v Nantes, 3-1 (2 goals, OR)

    Day #34 : Hugo Curioni, Nantes v Lens, 4-0 (3 goals, 1 pk)

    Day #36 : Laurent Pokou (4), Nîmes v Rennes, 0-2 (1 goal)

    Day #37 : Jean-Michel Larqué, Bastia v Saint-Etienne, 1-6 (1 goal, midfielder)

Day #38 : Mustapha Dahleb, Sedan v Troyes, 4-3 (3 goals, OL. Subbed out at the 82nd minute)

Note 1: Berdoll scoring 4 goals vs St.-Etienne on Day #5 for Angers (4-0) was not enough to get a 6. Dunno.

Note 2: Pokou had just arrived (in Dec.-Jan.) at Rennes when he had that game against Lyon and that was his second goal in two games. Since his arrival, Rennes was not the same team anymore and could beat anybody (Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Marseille, draw with Monaco, 5...).
They finished the season at a comfortable 13th rank instead of very possibly being relegated as they strongly feared until then (18th when he arrived).
    Pokou video here (since 1:50).

Etoile d'Or : Jean-Marc Guillou (SCO Angers mdifielder).

Since the following season, the comments on the games start to appear next to the results and teamsheets, since Day #8.
We also notice that most of the teams still use the 4-2-4 pattern but that several teams start to use the 4-3-3.

    1974/1975
    (16 times, 15 players)

    Day #1 : Guy Formici, Troyes v Saint-Etienne, 1-0 (Troyes goalkeeper)

    Day #2 : Carlos Bianchi, Reims v Paris SG, 6-1 (6 goals)

    Day #3 : Jean-Michel Larqué, Saint-Etienne v Monaco, 3-2 (2 goals, midfielder in a 4-2-4)

    Day #5 : Daniel Leclercq, Lens v Reims, 1-0 (midfielder in a 4-2-4)

    Day #5 : Henri Michel, Nantes v Saint-Etienne, 2-1 (midfielder in a 4-2-4)

    Day #7 : Jean-Michel Fouché, Saint-Etienne v Red Star, 2-0 (Red Star goalkeeper)

Day #12 : René Deutschmann, Reims v Strasbourg, 2-0 (Strasbourg right back)
There's no mention of Deutschmann in the report; it's about the current lack of efficiency in attack of Reims who moreover played without Bianchi for the first time (he did not score lately and he will be absent through a long-term injury).
His fellow countryman Laraignée, CB, scored the 2 goals "to avenge" [between inverted commas in the text] him, after that Reims suffered during the first half. Laraignée : 5.

    Day #12 : Stanislav Karasi, Lille v Sochaux, 4-0 (1 goal, "a feat by Karasi"... IL in a 4-2-4)

    Day #12 : Paulo Cézar, Marseille v Monaco, 4-1 (2 goals incl. 1 pk, LW in a 4-3-3)
In front of 35.000 spectators full of enthusiasm, OM did not miss to win its first bonus of the season [1 point for a win with more than a 2 goals margin]. Monaco was skilled to make the ball circulate but is still limited on defense [...]. It's Paulo Cézar who was the big star of the night, scoring the two first OM goals [1-0, 2-1]; the first one in a fantastic style and the second one with a penalty which was severe for the Monégasques. After that it was 1-1 during a moment, OM made the breakthrough in the second half thanks to Bracci and Emon whilst Jairzinho offered the fourth goal for the bonus, in the delirium that we imagine". Jairzinho : 3.

    Day #16 : Laurent Pokou, Rennes v Strasbourg, 5-1 (3 goals, 1 pk. CF in a 4-3-3)
"Rennes won their first bonus at the expense of Strasbourg. The main craftsman of this success is none other than Laurent Pokou who made things warm for Deutschmann in the first half then Duguépéroux in the second half [...]. With three goals including a penalty kick, he demonstrated that he remains a valuable challenger for the top scorer title.

    Day #25 : Bernard Lacombe, Lyon v Bastia, 8-1 (4 goals, CF in a 4-3-3)

    Day #31 : Jean-Marc Guillou, Angers v Strasbourg, 5-1 (2 goals, LM in a 4-3-3)
"One thousand spectators only... Angers played their best game of the season... Antic and Guillou (who scores more and more) shaped the festival of an Angevine team with bite, nice to watch, efficient in one word. Strasbourg resisted well in defense though, but that doesn't show on the scoreboard".

    Day #37 : Michel Watteau, Troyes v Monaco, 5-0 (midfielder in a 4-2-4)
"The Troyens were playing to avoid relegation [...] Petkovic and Watteau blithely rushed into the breaches [...]".

Attention however, it can't be 100% certain that it is a 6 for Watteau, as the last asterisk is a bit higher than the 5 firsts. Recorded to the benefit of the doubt (well, 80% sure it's a 6, so to speak).

    Day #38 : Robert Herbin, Saint-Etienne v Troyes, 5-1 (1 goal, pk. CB)
"For this last match of the season, Robert Herbin returned to school. He polarized eyes in a match turning into a feast for Saint-Etienne as Les Verts were leading by 4-1 at half-time. The second half was far to be as good but reached heights when the penalty-kick was scored with much cold blood by Herbin, at the request of the players, represented by Hervé Revelli. Thus, at 36 years old, Robby completed a mission that even not during his playing career, he accepted to assume...

    Day #38 : Jean-Marc Guillou (2), Nice v Angers, 4-1 (Angers midfielder)
"Angers failed to avoid relegation and they're responsible for it for a good part [...] were nervous in defense and in attack [...] under the impulsion of Guillou, Antic finally managed to put it in the back of the nets, once [...].

Day #38 : Ilija Pantelic, Paris SG v Sochaux, 0-1 (PSG goalkeeper)
"PSG was deprived of Bade, Dogliani and Dahleb and were focused on the Cup semi-finals [...]. Without Pantelic, who multiplicated the feats and made decisive saves, Sochaux should have had the lead by a three or four goals margin at half-time".

Etoile d'Or : Jean-Marc Guillou (SCO Angers midfielder) & Ignacio Prieto (Lille OSC central defender) ex-aequo.

Note1 : During the previous season, Prieto also played at midfield at times, even mainly played at this position during the first half of the season.

Note 2 : Guillou will make the move to... Nice.

    1975/1976 (13 times, 13 players)

    Day #3 : Léon Maier, Bordeaux v Sochaux, 1-2 (LW in a 4-2-4. 1 assist for goal #2 after a "magnificient breakthrough")

Day #4 : Serge Chiesa, Nantes v Lyon, 2-3 (hat-trick, RW in a 4-3-3. The third goal came from "a dazzling slalom; it was prodigious!")

Day #5 : Marcel Aubour, Nice v Reims, 2-1 (Reims goalkeeper)
It is mentioned that he saved several long-range shots from Katalinski.

    Day #8 : Hugo Curioni, Metz v Nîmes, 4-3 (4 goals incl. 1 pk)
"Many turnovers in this exciting match, many spectacular skills, much passion, some suspense... and many goals. Nîmes was surprisingly leading at half-time and during a long time, we could think that they'd win it, but there was Curioni. Unleashed, he scored 4 goals although he missed a penalty-kick. He gave the win to his team, 10 minutes before the final whistle".

    Day #9 : Robert Llorens, Valenciennes v Lens, 1-1 (CF in a 4-3-3)
There's no mention of him in the report.

Day #12 : André Rey, Metz v Nantes, 3-0 (Metz GK)
"Very good first half to the advantage of Nantes, territorially, but two or three saves of high class by Rey managed to circumvent Henri Michel and his teammates. Metz took confidence thanks to a superb goal by Zénier [...]. A match with a very good technical level between two teams that were closer from each other than what the scoresheet shows. The super-form of the Metzin keeper was strongly important in making the Nantais to dampen, and we hear them.

    Day #12 : Santiago Santamaria, Reims v Strasbourg, 6-0 (LW in a 4-3-3, 1 goal)
"[...] Santamaria, perfectly opportunistic, took advantage of any moment of weakness and served his partners with chances on a silver plate that punish the league's best defense - by the numbers - by relegating them to the 6th rank."

    Day #18 : Carlos Bianchi, Metz v Reims, 2-4 (4 goals incl. 1 pk. IR in a 4-2-4)
[...] Bianchi completed 4 successive dribbles before to score his 4th goal".

Day #18 : Christian Delachet, Nîmes v Valenciennes, 1-0 (Valenciennes goalkeeper)
In the comments we can read that, in gross, it was a one-way game; that Nîmes multiplicated the chances whilst Valenciennes only defended and only managed to limit the damage when the score could have been huge.

    Day #21 : Delio Onnis, Monaco v Nice, 4-1 (4 goals. CF in a 4-3-3)

    Day #28 : Robert Pintenat, Sochaux v Monaco, 4-0 (1 goal. CF in a 4-3-3)

Day #30 : Dominique Baratelli, Bordeaux v Nice, 1-0 (Nice goalkeeper)
Same as for Delachet on Day #18, in gross. Especially in the first half, here.

Day #35 : Gérard Janvion, Saint-Etienne v Monaco, 2-2 (LB. 1 goal, the equalizer at the 80th minute so Saint-Etienne remained unbeaten at home)

Etoile d'Or : Dominique Baratelli (OGC Nice goalkeeper)

For the following season (as already seen in the Platini ratings thread), the source is the book Mundial Football 77, so there's no comments but it is well the FF ratings that are provided here. That's exactly the same ratings as on several FF pages.

    1976/1977 (21 times, 15 players)

Day #3 : Christian Delachet, Metz v Valenciennes, 2-2 (Valenciennes goalkeeper)

Day #5 : Bernard Lacombe, Lyon v Lens, 3-3 (3 goals) Lens made it 3-2 and 3-3 by the end of the match.

    Day #7 : Michel Platini, Nancy v Bordeaux, 7-2 (4 goals)

    Day #9 : Paco Rubio, Nancy v Metz, 4-1 (3 goals. CF in a 4-3-3. Usually a midfielder)
    Day #9 : Raymond Keruzoré, Laval v Rennes, 3-1 (Now a Laval player. RM in a 4-3-3)

    Day #10 : Dragan Dzajic, Bastia v Nancy, 3-2 (2 goals, LW in a 4-3-3)
    Day #10 : Jean-Luc Fugaldi, Valenciennes v Angers, 0-2 (Valenciennes RB)

Day #16 : Zimako, Bastia v Reims, 3-2 (Bastia RW. 1 goal, the opener)

    Day #21 : Mustapha Dahleb, Nancy v Paris SG, 1-2 (LW in a 4-3-3, 1 goal)

    Day #22 : Bernard Lacombe (2), Lyon v Reims, 2-1 (2 goals)
Day #22 : Daniel Leclercq, Sochaux v Lens, 1-5 (Lens CB)
    Day #22 : Mustapha Dahleb (2), Paris SG v Laval, 5-0 (2 goals)

    Day #23 : Hugo Curioni, Metz v Marseille, 3-0 (IL in a 4-2-4)

    Day #25 : Alain Giresse, Bordeaux v Nancy, 2-0 (RM in a 4-3-3)
    Day #25 : Dominique Bathenay, Saint-Etienne v Lille, 2-0 (RM in a 4-3-3. 1 goal)

    Day #33 : Zimako (2), Bastia v Lyon, 3-0 (1 goal, the opener)
    Day #33 : Hugo Curioni (2), Metz v Paris SG, 3-1 (CF in a 4-3-3. 2 goals)

    Day #37 : Didier Six, Valenciennes v Nantes, 0-0 (LW in a 4-3-3)
    Day #37 : Nico Braun, Metz v Laval, 5-3 (3 goals. RW in a 4-3-3)

    Day #38 : Raymond Keruzoré (2), Laval v Bastia, 3-1 (1 goal, pk. RM in a 4-3-3)
    Day #38 : Daniel Leclercq (2), Lens v Marseille, 1-0 (CB)

A few games are missing, including a 4-2 win of Nancy in Marseille with 2 goals by Platini (1 pk), for instance. That's delayed games.

Etoile d'Or : Raymond Keruzoré (Laval midfielder) & Daniel Leclercq (RC Lens central defender, former midfielder, first full season at this position) ex-aequo.

    Day #3 : Christian Dalger, Bordeaux v Monaco, 0-4 (3 goals. RW in a 4-3-3)

    Day #6 : Nenad Bjekovic, Bordeaux v Nice, 3-5 (3 goals)

Day #8 : Philippe Bergeroo, Bordeaux v Rouen, 4-0 (Bordeaux GK)

    Day #10 : Christian Dalger (2), Monaco v Nantes, 1-1 (RW)
"Nantes had just played against Dukla... were not as lively as they are usually but had enough ressources to countain a very enterprising Monaco at the image of Dalger and Petit".

    Day #10 : Jean-Marc Guillou, Paris SG v Nice, 0-3, (LM in a 4-3-3)
"The Parc de Princes was full for the first time of the season (45.000 spectators)... that was the Niçois who made the show under the impulsion of Jean-Marc Guillou, king of the pitch.

    Day #11 : Gérard Soler, Sochaux v Lens, 7-2 (4 goals. RW in a 4-3-3)

    Day #16 : Jean-Marc Guillou (2), Nice v Bastia, 3-1 (in the middle of the 3 man-midfield)
"It was a dense, animated game, of a very high level. Lead by an imperial Guillou, Nice deservedly won, but no shame for Bastia in spite of the loss.
With Guillou, Bjekovic was the big man of this match, by scoring three magnificient goals. This success of the Yugoslav, it's also the triumph of a remarkably equipped team, at all levels : collective, physical and moral. And the Bastiais who never gave up forced the leader to work hard in order to win."
    Bjekovic : 4.

    Day #12 * : Michel Platini, Nice v Nancy, 3-7 (4 goals incl. 1 pk)
"The Niçois lived a real nightmare, Baratelli in the vanguard, and were the victims of an extraordinary Platini", four goals himself. But the other Nanceiens were up to it."

    * : postponed after Day #25. 4 delayed games in all.

Day #26 : Didier Six, Nice v Lens, 5-4 (Lens LW, 3 goals)
    Goals : 11', 15' (0-2), 85' (3-4).

    Day #29 * : Philippe Bergeroo (2), Nîmes v Bordeaux, 3-1 (Bordeaux GK)
"The Bordelais were demobilized in view of their Cup match against Marseille [...] were completely dominated. [...] we can add that Nîmes was constantly pressuring, had so many chances and if they did not improve their goal ratio, it is thanks to Bergeroo."

    * : postponed after Day #31. 5 delayed games in all.

"A goals galore for this Lille return in D1 [...] Lille scored the opener but they did not have the lead for long as Nancy were superior technically and had a great period with a gleaming Rouyer who scored twice [...]".
It was then 1-3 with a goal of Rubio and Lille won 4-3. Rubio, 5, and Simon of Lille (2 goals incl. the winner), 5 are the the two other best rated players in this game.

    Day #14 : Michel Mézy, Nîmes v Saint-Etienne, 2-2 (Nîmes libero)

Day #14 : Didier Simon, Lille v Nice, 4-0 (Lille LM in a 4-3-3). "And it was Didier Simon, man of the match, who added the 4th goal".

Day #18 : Henri Michel, Nantes v Nice, 5-0 (Nantes libero, 1 goal, the opener, 4th min.)
"As soon as the 4th minute, Michel, starting from his zone, transmitted the ball to Pécout [CF] who launched Amisse [LW] whose the cross was volleyed by the Nantes captain, who followed the action. [...]
At the 38th minute, a new movement, started by Michel, continued by Amisse, was concluded by Rampillon for a second goal. [...] In the second half, Nice had two chances to save their honor by Morabito, and Buscher, but Muller and Michel averted the danger".

    Day #22 : Johnny Rep, Nice v Bastia, 2-2 (Bastia LM in a 4-3-3, 2 goals)
"It was a rough and tight match, and most of all a match between Rep and Bjekovic. These two men dominated the debate, scoring the two goals of their team".
    Bjekovic (Nice CF, 5).

Day #23 : Jacky Vergnes, Paris SG v Bordeaux, 2-5 (Bordeaux CF, 4 goals)
"This prolific game started slowly and we had to wait half an hour to see more animation and Vergnes to open the score. Thanks to two corkscrew goals by Carlos Bianchi, PSG turned the tables before half-time.
But the PSG defense, really too crumbly and uncertain collapsed under the big pushes of a Vergnes in full swing who knew how to take advantage of the large spaces that were offered a bit everywhere. In spite of Vasovic, PSG are still looking for a playing-style".

Day #31 : Loïc Amisse, Nantes v Sochaux, 4-0 (Nantes LW, 2 goals) "Nantes clearly dominated in the first half, but without scoring [...]. The Nantais unleashed themselves in the second half at the image of Amisse".

    Day #31 : Philippe Bergeroo, Lille v Saint-Etienne, 3-0 (Lille goalkeeper)
"In Lille, Saint-Etienne dominated during one hour against a team that have conceded 2 goals at half-time. Bergeroo avoided it at the 10th minute in front of Larios and again at the 25th minute in front of Lacombe.
By the way, Bergeroo multiplicated the feats that finally had to prepare the victory of Lille. The only times he was beaten, Zimako was called off-side and Lacombe hit the post from the pk spot! Three times on counter-attack and three times served by Olarevic [4 stars], Cabral and Pleimelding two times managed to make a sensational turnaround."

    Day #37 : Loïc Amisse (2), Nantes v Lyon, 5-1 (1 goal)
"... but the Lyonnais who were dominated in every departments of the game finally crumbled down under the more and more violent big pushes of the Canaris who, essentially under the impulsion of a remarkable Amisse, transformed their success into a triumph".

One delayed game from Day #26 is missing : Metz v Nancy, 3-1 (without Platini).

Etoile d'Or : André Rey (FC Metz goalkeeper)

    The sixties :

    1959/1960 (21 times, 17 players)

    Day #5 : Jean-Claude Baulu, Limoges v Valenciennes, 1-1 (Valenciennes RW)

Day #6 : Joseph Ujlaki, Nice v RC Paris, 2-5 (RCP IR, 1 goal)
"RC Paris faced the pale shadow of an opposition. Indeed, Nice was maneuvred, overwhelmed technically in all the domains. The festival of Racing that often turned into a demonstration as well as in the Nice's confusion, was orchestrated by Ujlaki who as if by magic retrieved his magistral talent and the will to play. All in all, Nice crossed the half-line only half a dozen of times."

Day #7 : François Remetter, Limoges v Bordeaux, 3-0 (Limoges GK)
As a conclusion : "Only Guillas and Louis worried Limoges where Remetter was brilliant".

    Day #8 : François Remetter (2), Limoges v Sedan, 2-2
As an intro : "Sedan should have easily won this game if not for a brilliant game by Remetter, who even stopped a penalty-kick"

    Day #9 : Daniel Charles-Alfred, Nîmes v Valenciennes, 3-0 (LH in a 3-2-5)
In conclusion : "Nîmes never abandonned the direction of the game against opponents that did not believe in their chances".

Day #11 : Yvon Douis, Le Havre v Monaco, 2-0 (Le Havre CF, 1 goal)
"Monaco were deprived of Kaelbel and lost Cossou on injury at the 35th minute [...] the first half was poor due to the extreme caution of both teams but the second half shown the Havraise attack, remarkably lead by Douis, to dominate the Monégasque defense".

Day #13 : Théo, RC Paris v Rennes, 0-2 (Rennes IL, 1 goal)

    Day #15 : Omar Barrou, Nice v Toulon, 4-0 (Nice CF, 4 goals, '28, '41, '56, '67)
"The first half an hour of play was pretty balanced and the defense of Toulon seemed to be able to dealwith the attacks of Nice. But one player unleashed himself and shook the Varoise defense so much that it suddenly broke. indeed, Barrou, with his rushes, his power, and his four goals, almost snatched the win on himself over Toulon.".

Day #22 : Joseph Bonnel, Valenciennes v Nice, 4-3 (Valenciennes IR)

Day #23 : Stéphane Bruey, Angers v Reims, 6-1 (Angers IR, 1 goal)
"Against Reims, Angers certainly played the match of their life and in Anjou, we'll remember for a long time about the correction reeived by the Rémois".

Day #26 : Raymond Kopa, Reims v Lens, 5-1 (Reims CF, 2 goals)
"Reims played an exceptionnal game, worthy of their heyday reputation. Leading by three goals the injury of Leblond gave serious trouble to the Rémois. Reduced to ten we feared the worst, but Kopa and Fontaine quickly 'knocked out' the Lensois".
Fontaine ('false RW'), Piantoni, Vincent : 4. Muller (IR) : 5. Colonna, Wendling, Jonquet, Leblond, Siatka : 4. Rodzyk (LB) : 3.

    Day #30 : Daniel Charles-Alfred (2), Nîmes v Sedan, 2-0 (Nîmes CB)
Same scenario as on Day #9 (see above).

    Day #30 : Raymond Kopa (2), Reims v Lyon, 2-0 (CF)
"it's with a disconcerting ease that the Rémois won the game, at a slow trot. Excpet for three chances, Lyon did not worried Reims. A Very homogeneous team which, with much allure, went alone".

[After Day #30, Nîmes are the leaders, 1 pt. above Reims]

Day #31 : André Chorda, RC Paris v Nice, 1-2 (Nice LB)
"RC Paris were in little form, like Guillot and Ujlaki who did not play their usual capital role [...] Nice, thanks to its homogeneous defense and an excellent Chorda, thanks to the piercing of its attackers like Foix and De Bourgoing [...] this success erase the collapse of the first leg match".

    Day #31 : Aulis Rytkönen, Toulouse v Limoges, 6-0 (RW, 2 goals)
"The come-back of Brodd in the Toulousaine attack was very beneficial since they played a trick on Remetter who conceded no less than 6 goals [...]".
    Brodd : 4.

Day #32 : Aimé Mignot, Limoges v Lyon, 0-1 (Lyon LB)
"Mignot preserved the win of Lyon in front of a Limoges that would have deserved more, but whose the attack, deprived of Sauvage, was non-existent. With these 2 pts of the win, Lyon should stay in the First Division".

Day #33 : Raymond Barthelmeds, Strasbourg v Sochaux, 0-1 (Sochaux goalkeeper)
"The crushing domination of the Strasbourgeois (unfortunately for them) collided with a transcended Barthelmeds. it's a pity (always for the Alsaciens) who would have truly deserved to score one or several goals... very good debuts in the Strasbourgeois ranks of the young Hausser...".
Hausser (LW) : 4. Barthelmeds was a former Strasbourg keeper.

    Day #35 : Raymond Kopa (3), Nîmes v Reims, 0-3 (CF)
"After a balanced first half of high class, Reims imposed themselves. It was a true solo by the Champenois materialized by the sovereignity of Kopa who was at the origin of the three goals! The last hopes of Nîmes to block the route to the title to Reims sank yesterday under the soleil du Midi".
Goals by Biernat and Piantoni 2x.

    Day #37 : Roland Guillas, Bordeaux v Reims, 2-1 (CF, 1 goal)
"As surprising as this victory of the last-ranked team over the leader can be, it is perfectly deserved. It even wears a name : it's the victory of Guillas! So such the little attacker asserted himself like a genuine and brilliant chief of attack. The 'Little Kopa' flooring the 'real Kopa', it is a feat of arms that the Bordelais spectators will not have the chance to see again anytime soon, since this win can't modificate the navy blue and white's fate...".

Day #37 : Pierre Bernard, Sedan v Monaco, 2-1 (Sedan Goalkeeper)
"A Bernard in great form was needed for the stirring and percusive attack of Monaco could not find the way to the nets more often ! The Cup holders [Monaco] had a very good match and the Ardennais, on their side, knew to get in tune which gave a clean, lively game... but the Sedan's win was long to loom".

Day #38 : Hassan Akesbi, Toulouse v Nîmes, 8-2 (Nîmes IR, 2 goals)
" a good first half tnhaks to some combativity from both teams, which was marked by the action of the tandem Skiba-Akesbi [...] mediocre second half".
[Not making this kind of remarks everytime about everything, but perhaps a reward for his whole season and for a 5 that could have been a 6 when he scored 4 goals in a game. This brilliant action that is noted permits that]

Etoile d'Or : Raymond Kopa (Stade de Reims centre-forward)

For the next season, the comments are now less about the men and more about a general view on the match (as seen previously in the thread for ulterior seasons, in the 70's/ early 80's).

    1960/1961 (11 times, 11 players)

Day #11 : Jean Taillandier, Rouen v RC Paris, 0-3 (RCP GK)
"It can look like an easy win for Paris but Rouen were on good form [...] Taillandier was on international form".

Day #14 : Pierre Bernard, Rennes v Sedan, 2-0 (Sedan GK)
"[...] in spite of a very big game by the keeper Bernard [...]".

Day #15 : Charles Vidal, Grenoble v Reims, 3-2 (Grenoble IL, 2 goals incl. the winner at the 90th min.)
"A match of a rare intensity".

Day #15 : Pierre Barlaguet, Nîmes v Valenciennes, 2-0 (Nîmes RH)

Day #17 : Jacques Bernard, Toulouse v Angers, 3-1 (Toulouse IL, 1 goal)

Day #20 : Joseph Ujlaki, RC Paris v Angers, 5-3 (RCP CF, 2 goals)

Day #24 : Antoine Dalla Cieca, Rouen v Sedan, 1-0 (Rouen IL, 1 goal)
"This success was due to the organitional talents of Dalla Cieca on one hand, and on the other hand to the heroics of the Normands in defense. On Sedan's side, the defense was far to be that brilliant".

Day #24 : Yvon Goujon, Limoges v Stade Français, 4-2 (Limoges IR, 3 goals)
"Goujon gave Limoges the win after a match rich in turnarounds and suspense. Stade Français are now in very delicate position : they fought with all their heart although they were dominated overall, by a more homogeneous Limougeaude team. This game was of high quality : we'd never guessed that it was about two teams from the bottom of the table".

Day #26 : Hassan Akesbi, Nîmes v RC Paris, 2-2 (Nîmes CF, 2 goals)
"It was a colourful match, and a show of first choice in intensity. The Parisian team saw his luck to drop since the start as Topka and Ugurenko got injured. The first half was for Nîmes and Racing just worked at limitating the damages. In the second half, the local team played a bit against themselves and Racing profited of the opponent's loosestrife in order to get the draw in the last minute of the match". [Ujlaki from the pk spot]

    Day #26 : Jean-Louis Buron, Rouen v Toulouse, 7-0 (Rouen LW)
"Until then, Rouen prevailed thanks to their defense. Against Toulouse, that's the whole Normande team that made a brilliant demonstration. [...] a Normand offensive festival. Rouen most of all seduced by its homogeneity and by the surety of its playing system".

Day #32 : Guy Sénac, RC Paris v Nice, 4-2 (RC Paris RH, 2 goals)
"[...] leading 4-1 thanks to Sénac - he was the author of two goals and brang the other two [...]".

Etoile d'Or : Pierre Bernard (US Sedan-Torcy goalkeeper) & Mahi Khennane (Stade Rennais forward) ex-aequo.

Until now, no games reports are missing for the 60's, contrarily to what I thought. Possibly it's even the most complete decade regarding that. Just had to dig a bit more into the threads.

    1961/1962 (12 times, 10 players)

Day #1 : Pierre Bernard, Rouen v Nîmes, 1-2 (Nîmes GK)
"Rouen missed their entry in front of their public but Nîmes were in total euphoria and Bernard better than never, extraordinary of authority and cold-blood".

    Day #2 : René Ferrier, Saint-Etienne v Nîmes, 5-0 (St.-Etienne LH)
"could have been more without Bernard". Bernard : 5.

Day #16 : Raymond Kopa, Reims v Nancy, 2-0 (Reims CF)
"Reims brilliantly played, outclassed Nancy duirng the whole game but wa sonly able to score twice after the pause, the score being 0-0 at half-time. Kopa played there his best match since his return from Spain. The collective game of the Rémois was exquisite and the Nanceienne opposition, very feeble. The score could and should have been heavier".

Day #18 : René Mandaron, Montpellier v Nice, 3-2 (Montpellier CB)
"Montpellier were leading by 3-0 at the 21st minute. After the 3rd goal was scored they slowed downand Nice took the commands".

[RC Paris v FC Metz, 11-2, wow]

    Day #18 : Marcel Loncle, Angers v Saint-Etienne, 2-1 (Angers IL)

    [Day #23 : Rennes v Monaco, 4-6, not bad]

Day #25 : Norbert Eschmann, Stade Français v Montpellier, 3-0 ('Stade' IL)

Day #27 : Joseph Ujlaki, Nîmes v RC Paris, 2-4 (RCP CF, 1 goal, the opener, '3)
"A sovereign and irresistible Paris knocked the leader down. [...] 4-2 for the visitors at half time. Nîmes did not play as a team of the first order".

    Day #30 : Marcel Loncle (2), Angers v Rennes, 1-1 (Angers IL)
"Angers should have lead by 2-0 at half-time but after the first goal by Bruey obtained at the 20th minute, Lamartine miserably spoiled a 'golden chance' 20 minutes later. There, the home team missed the win. The second half was way less spectacular; Rennes were the most dangerous and they managed to equalize by Mahi".

    Day #36 : Pierre Barlaguet, Nîmes v Saint-Etienne, 1-0 (Nîmes RH, 1 goal)
"The Nîmois success was conquered with energy, mostly thnaks to Barlaguet, who was sovereign during the whole game and scored the winner, the lone goal of the match. The win of the local team is deserved but the Stéphanoise team often puzzled them with their organization and their cold-blood". The Gardois dominated most of the time, but we still felt them being nervous".

Delayed game* : Marcel Loncle (3), Angers v Nîmes, 8-3 (Angers IL, 1 goal)
"The feat of Angers was saluted with a standing ovation".

Delayed game* : Bruno Ferrero, Nancy v Lens, 1-0 (Nancy GK)
"Nancy owes its victory to the really exceptional brilliance of its keeper Ferrero. During the whole first half, the latter kept the so quick and pressuring Lensoise attack in check, and it's against the tide that Muro obtained the lone goal of the game before half-time. Then, Lens semmed to be discouraged and did not show the same ardor anymore. A draw game would have been the fairest".

*Day #?, games played between Day #36 and Day #37.

    Day #37 : Jean-Louis Buron, Rouen v Metz, 3-2 (Rouen LW, 1 goal, for the 3-1,'80)
"The Metzin lead from the 13rd to the 42nd minute and were difficult to maneuvrate. As for the Rouennais, they were better in attack than on defense. Druda was injured since the 27th minute, it was a heavy handicap for the home team."

    Day #2 : Jean-Claude Hernandez, Monaco v Stade Français, 1-1 (Monaco goalkeeper)
"The superiority of the Parisian team developed from the first to the last minute. The men of Rossi could have win by a 3-goals margin if the Monégasque keeper Hernandez did not have an absolutely remarkable game. The home team scored first form the pk spot, against the tide; the equalizer came a few time after, then the visitors missed a pk. The score had to remain the same. The Stadistes deserved more".

Day #4 : Nestor Combin, Lyon v Angers, 3-0 (Lyon RW in the first half then CF in the second half)
"Then, when Combin was moved at the CF position, the Lyon forwards became more productive and scored three times".

    Day #9 : Nestor Combin (2), Bordeaux v Lyon, 1-2 (Lyon CF, 2 goals)
Bordeaux were the leaders in the league before this game.

Day #9 : Yvon Goujon, Rennes v Strasbourg, 4-1 (Rennes IL, 2 goals, 1 pk)
"The first half was marked by Remetter who only conceded a goal from the pk spot and stopped all the shots from the local team, noticeably from their central triplet. After the pause, the Rennais handled the game and Goujon get the lion's share by repeatingly pertubating in the Alsacian backline. The Bretons deservedly and neatly won the game".

Day #10 : Ahmed Oudjani, Marseille v Lens, 3-3 (Lens CF, 3 goals)

Day #11 : Salah Djebaïli, Nîmes v Rennes, 2-1 (Nîmes IL, 2 goals)
"Rennes provided an honourable game but the absence of Goujon was felt".

Day #14 : Raymond Kopa & Hassan Akesbi, Reims v Stade Français, 6-2 (CF and IR, Akesbi 3 goals)
"Reims behaved in a true leader against Stade Français that they clearly dominated, most of all in the second half. The Parisian team never gave up; they fought with courage and at times provided some good football. The Rémoise formation looked in super shape at the image of Kopa and Akesbi who were truly sensational. The first named, maybe has never played so well; the second, has scored three goals out of the 6 goals of his team".

    Day #19 : Lucien Cossou, Monaco v Rennes, 5-0 (CF, 4 goals)
"... Douis at the origin, Cossou at the conclusion". Douis : 5.

Day #22 : Yvon Douis, Nîmes v Monaco, 1-2 (Monaco IR)
    Goals : Cossou '18, Djebaïli '32, Cossou '33.

Day #26 : Gilbert Gress, Strasbourg v Nice, 7-0 (RCS IR, 1 goal)
"Sensational Alsacian success, obtained under the snow. Strasbourg delivered their best game of the season whilst the visitors shown too much resignation".

    Day #31 : Yvon Douis (2), Monaco v Nice, 6-2 (ASM IR, 3 goals)
"Monaco dominated with a great collective mastery and authority. There was really a match only during the first half given that De Bourgoing (Nice) opened the score after 45 seconds of play (1-2 at half-time)".

Delayed game* : Jacques Chillan, Nîmes v RC Paris, 4-1 (Nîmes RW, 2 goals)
"This game was played at a pleasing pace. [...] in the second half, the Nîmois accelerated and Chillan unleashed himself scoring two goals. [...]".

    * : 6 games in all, played between Day #35 and Day #36.

Day #37 : Maurice Charpentier, RC Paris v Montpellier, 6-1 (RCP LW, 5 goals)
"After 10 minutes of play, Paris were already leading by 2-0; 5 minutes later, Mesas got injured. The Montpelliérains, reduced to 10, literally crumbled down and, without having a great game, the goals in favor of Racing cumulated one to the others; there were 5 at half-time, there were 9 in the end, of which 5 were the work of Charpentier".

Etoile d'Or : Daniel Charles-Alfred (Nîmes Olympique CB).

    1963/1964 (13 times, 12 players)

Day #2 : Pierre Michelin, Sedan v Strasbourg, 2-1 (LH, 1 goal, the opener)

Day #2 : Charles Marchetti, Monaco v Nice, 0-0 (Nice goalkeeper)
Some "magnificient saves" are mentioned when by the end of the game, when both teams had chances. On Monaco's side, the CB Artelesa is mentioned (5).

    Day #5 : Robert Herbin, Saint-Etienne v Angers, 2-2 (St.-Etienne IR, 2 goals)
"St.-Etienne played very poorly in the first half and if tit was 0-0 at half-time it was thanks to the keeper Bernard as the Angevine pressuring was constant during this period. After the pause, little by little, things went to the advantage of the Stéphanois who opened the score by Herbin; the answer was immediate with Thomas scoring twice in 10 minutes. Herbin equalized shortly after and the score remained 2-2".

    Day #7 : Jean-Louis Buron, Rouen v Lens, 3-0 (LW, 1 goal)

Day #11 : Jacques Bernard, Toulouse v Lyon, 1-0 (Toulouse IR)
"Toulouse vastly dominated [...] Bernard of Toulouse was the big man of the match".

    Day #20 : Rachid Mekhloufi, Saint-Etienne v Toulouse, 7-1 (St.-Etienne IL, 2 goals, 1 pk)
"Under the impulsion of a transcended Mekhloufi, the Stéphnaois made their opponent see all colours".

    Day #23 : Stéphane Bruey, Angers v Saint-Etienne, 3-1 (Angers CF, 2 goals)
"In the second half, Bernard avoid a disaster for Saint-Etienne, but Angers still managed to score 2 times".

    Day #25 : Raymond Kopa, Reims v Saint-Etienne, 3-1 (IR)
"Under a so brilliant Kopa's command, Reims has beaten the Stéphanois leader in a game which was first remarkable by its pace and its technical composure then captivating by its tension and its harshness".

Day #28 : Jacky Novi, Nîmes v Strasbourg, 1-0 (Nîmes RH)
A heated game where Nîmes had 3 goals refused for off-side. They managed to equalize ('60) and tried to win but vainly.

Day #29 : Philippe Gondet, Nantes v Stade Français, 3-1 (Nantes RW, 1 goal)
"This was the best match at Nantes; during more than one hour the elvel of play was very high, then it dropped a bit since th eplayers were tired. The success of Nantes is deserved : they imposed a very fast pace since the very start, lead by the right winger Gondet, who was at the origin of the first goal and scored the third one in absolutely remarkable. Stade Français, who managed to equalize a few time after the first goal of Nantes, never gave up".

Day #30 : Jacky Simon, Nantes v Rouen, 7-1 (Nantes IL, 3 goals)

    Day #31 : Rachid Mekhloufi (2), Saint-Etienne v Rennes, 3-0 (IL, 2 goals)
"The win of St.-Etienne is first thanks to the extraordinary form of Mekhloufi. He scored the opener with a terrific shot, this after a beautiful action. [...] After the pause, Mekhloufi scored his second goal, then St.-Etienne outageously dominated [...]".

Day #28 * : Fleury Di Nallo, Lyon v Racing Paris, 5-1 (IR, 3 goals)
"In order to celebrate their victory in the Cup, Lyon realized their best game of the season against RC Paris at Gerland Stadium. THings did not hang about since the opener was scored since the 3rd minute by an unleashed Di Nallo, in this evening. He did score again a quarter of hour later. [...] Racing reacted [...] but finally crumbled down as Lyon scored three more including one from Di Nallo".

    * Delayed game, played before Day #32.

Missing : the whole Day #14.
It was a 18-club league season.

Etoile d'Or : Rachid Mekhloufi (AS Saint-Etienne forward)

    1964/1965 (12 times, 10 players)

Day #1 : Serge Burdoncle, Sochaux v Stade Français, 4-1 (Sochaux RW)
"Sochaux has magnificiently succeeded in his return in Division 1. [...] Bosquier scored the opener thanks to a masterful 30 meters volley [...]. Bosquier : 5.

    Day #1 : Joseph Bonnel, Valenciennes v Rouen, 3-0 (3 goals, IR)
"With his three goals, Bonnel was the king of the evening".

Day #7 : Louis Landi, Nantes v Nîmes, 0-2 (Nîmes goalkeeper)
"Nantes, thanks to an excellent collective football had a avst supremacy during the whole game. Nïmes were reduced to play counter-attacks; two of them gave 2 goals, by Vals and Parodi so Nîmes were leading 2-0 after 23 minutes of play. Nantes then had an impressive number of chances but they clashed with a watchful defense and most of all with a Landi in 'super-form' who discouraged all the opposing forwards".

    Day #8 : Jean-Claude Hernandez, Nîmes v Monaco, 1-0 (Monaco goalkeeper)
"[...] during the first half, the game took place in front of the Monégasque goals but Hernandez stopped everything [...]".

    Day #16 : Serge Burdoncle (2), Sochaux v Monaco, 3-0 (Sochaux RW, 1 goal)
"[...] Monaco was surpassed in all domains and only conceded a normal defeat due to Hernandez. Under the leadership of Krstic, Burdocnle and Schmidtt, Sochaux reigned supreme[...]".

Day #22 : Paul Sauvage, Valenciennes v Lens, 6-1 (Valenciennes CF, 4 goals)
"Valenciennes dominated in the first half without giving the impression they'll eventually crush their opponent. 1-0 at half-time. Thereafter, there wxas only one team on the pitch, conducted by an excellent Sauvage who proved to be a remarkable finisher (4 goals)".

    Day #22 : Albert Duchêne, Saint-Etienne v Rouen, 1-3 (Rouen goalkeeper)
Rouen opened the score. St.-Etienne equalized then offered a second goal to Rouen. Since then, St.-Etienne totally dominated "but Duchêne stopped everything and Betta [Rouen] added one goal".

    Day #23 : Jacky Simon, Nîmes v Nantes, 0-3 (2 goals, IR)
"Whislt it was the first match live on TV this season, Nîmes had one of their worst game. However, Chillan, Djebaïli and Charles-Alfred were missing. But it can't be an excuse for everything. [...] Then, the Nantaise superiority was constant and Simon, ahead of the pack, had fun, and added two goals".

Day #24 : Jacky Simon (2), Nantes v Lens, 1-1 (1 goal, the equalizer. IR)
"One minute before the final whistle, Simon (him again) saved his team from a loss that would have been an underserved loss".

    Day 32 : Yvan Garofalo, Saint-Etienne v Toulon, 1-0 (Toulon goalkeeper)
"That was the game of the missed chances for Saint-Etienne who mangaed to score only one goal (Mekhloufi, '14) out of 20 chances that hey created; it must be said that Garofalo had a sensational game! The Toulonnais always sticked to their ultra-defensive plan and were largely dominated, moreover since Simian got injured and had to leave the pitch [...] They could have equalize at one point though. In the end, Saint-Etienne controlled the match and they were particularly efficient".

    Day #33 : Jean-Pierre Dogliani, Angers v Nîmes, 5-0 (Angers IL)
"There was no suspense so we knew that the Angevine team would prevail. Only we had to wait the 26th minute to see Stiévenard scoring the opener [...] Thereafter, the Angevine superiority was even clearer and 3 more goals substantiated that. Thus, under the leadership of a Dogliani particularly in verve, S.C.O. shown to be very efficient".

    Day #34 : Pierre Bernard, Bordeaux v Saint-Etienne, 1-1 (Saint-Etienne goalkeeper)
"The girondins did eveything to snatch the victory over Saint-Etienne who played with ease and intelligence, procedeeding by counter-attacks [summarized version]. Saint-Etienne opened the score like this, Bordeaux equalized [...]. Then, Bordeaux dominated and the game was almost always locating on the goals of Bernard; the latter was absolutely sensational, feat after feat and saved the draw game, to the great displeasure of the Girondins".

Etoile d'Or : Robert Herbin (AS Saint-Etienne inside and CB, on Day #34, the last matchday of the season)
