At this point, how much are they charging him for that headspace? Yeah, we have a thread here, but it's to laugh at their ignorance and stupidity. Come game day, it's about two teams. With one exception so far, Austin isn't one of them. In other words, why do people do it so many years later? It doesn't make sense.
There exists a nonzero number of people who bought a ticket to a soccer game in Columbus who don't realize that Columbus has a soccer team. The average person in the stadium is an idiot. They are what's needed to have a broad river of support. The result is that they'll have no feelings one way or the other regarding Two Chins, Austin, etc al.
I don't do it, well not much anyway, but the events of our history will never be completely forgotten if we continue to educate the newbies.
So I'm going to be back in Ohio from March 2nd through March 10th. Don't suppose the Crew have a game during that time, do they?...
A little less than half the 2022 schedule is showing up on the Crew site here. Home matches so far there include: [EDIT: the full season appears to be there] (Sat, 7:30pm unless otherwise announced) 2/26: vs. Vancouver, 3:30pm 3/12: vs. TOR, 1:30pm 4/2: vs. NSH, 6pm 4/16: vs. ORL 4/30: vs. DC 5/21: vs. LAFC, 3:30pm 6/18: vs. CLT 7/3: vs. PHI [SUN] 7/17: vs. CIN [SUN] 7/23: vs. NE 8/3: vs. Montreal [WED] 8/6: vs. NYC 8/21: vs. ATL, 6pm [SUN] 8/31: vs. MIA [WED] 9/3: vs. CHI 9/18: vs. POR, 1pm [SUN] 10/1: vs. RBNY
Ugh... Time to circle some dates 😉 pic.twitter.com/1NKlaiB57J— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) December 15, 2021 Let this joke die.
West conference opponents: vs Vancouver @ San Jose vs Nashville @ KC vs LAFC @ Salt Lake @ Colorado vs Portland Missed out on all the Texas scrubs.
10:30am DORA opening vs Toronto? Nice! Sidenote: That night, COSI is hosting the Columbus Brew Festival. Details: https://www.columbusbrewfestival.com/ Also: FWIW, Toto comes to town...the same day as a Crew home game.
I don't think that's the correct schedule, it shows the Chicago road game as being on a Saturday, and we all know that's not right.
It's all hypothetical at this point, but if MLS gets past 30 teams, that's 16+ teams per conference. At 15+ opponents times two games (home and away), that's 30-32 games, if not more. The only inter-conference games would be MLS Cup and obviously some US Open Cup games. If the USOC stays regional, we could potentially play Minnesota, KC, Colorado and St. Louis. That's not a bad schedule format right there. Unless the league wants to continue to go February-December.
I had that same thought. They've bumped our game a few times in the past. With the NHL having to postpone games for COVID, anything can happen over the next few months. A game that far out could easily be the victim of a domino effect.
Wow, only 2 weeknight home matches. The rest are on Saturdays and Sundays. Last season we had 5 weeknight home matches.
