Hakan Calhanoglu scored in his 3rd consecutive Serie A match and is now up to 4 goals and 4 assists for Inter Milan this season. Title race in Serie A looks close this year with Inter currently in 3rd place behind Napoli and AC Milan

Are you speaking of someone specifically or in general? In general, I think there are a few examples of possible NT players that chose other countries over Germany. Stanisic comes to mind. From memory (could be wrong here) didn't Trochowski want to play for Poland, but they refused, and so he played for Germany? (apparently he did so, according to Wikipedia).

Stanisic is full of shit, 3 years ago him and his father declared he wants to play dfb. Plsyed some friendlies but after 3 years ignored by dfb jumped at Croatia chance.

Kuntz took too much time to talk to him and was also busy with Olympics too. By time, did talk to him too late, declared for Croatia.

same for Motika/Vidovic both wanted dfb (alao according to insiders) but always ignored so jumped elsewhere. Vidovic was physically lacking for years that's why ignored too.:rolleyes:Than they make speech about how such an honor to play for Setrbia and Croatia, LOL.

more reason I think poaching is annoying as Stanisic could have played U21 too.

I'm triple national but dual/triple footy players mostly opportunistic and 2 faced. Constant threats of ditching if not called up etc.

The globe trotting German-Kazakh, Alexander Merkel suffered a knee ligament injury at the end of November. He was mostly a regular starter for his current club Gaziantep in the Turkish league up until that point. He joined them in the summer after leaving his former Saudi club

LB Leon Klassen has 6 assists in 16 Austrian league matches so far this season for WSG Tirol. Curious to see if he earns his way to a larger club in the summer

Even at age 32, Mario Vrancic is still doing well in the English Championship level.

Had a goal and assist in their 2-0 win vs QPR. Overall, he now has 3 goals and 7 assists after 19 league games, along with 2 assists from the EFL Cup

Among the older Bosnian Germans he seems to be having the best career longevity. Kolasinac had some decent years earlier on but has crashed down. While Muhamed Besic has become irrelevant after spending so many years in and out of loans after joining Everton

since moving to Turkey for career 2BL player
    -Turkish 1st, 5 goals and 1 assist in 10
-1st Turkey NT call up, 2 goals in 2

some thought didn't deserve Turkey call up too.

Turkey has a habit of wanting to call up as many of their diaspora offspring as possible. Probably to an extent of being an obsession

Usually it's when they try to poach promising young prospects. Just like they do with Mert Muldur from Austria, Halil Dervisoglu from Holland, and Emre Mor from Denmark although his career crashed

But they do it with randoms too just like how Kenan Karaman has been called up for a few years now even though he was a yoyo 1BL/2BL player.

Maybe they wanted Dursun just in case the DFB has a last minute urge to call him up someday lol ;)

true but Dursun case call up came from Kuntz who likely knows him well. Gurantee no Turkish coach would have called up in Fall 2021.

List of notable 1990+ German-born Turks that have represented Turkey senior team and where they are now:

Serdar Dursun: Joined Fenerbahce in the summer, and active member of their NT after Kuntz took charge. A relative later bloomer, mainly became productive with Darmstadt from 2018 and onwards

Yunus Malli: Career went downhill after joining Wolfsburg in 2017. Now with Trabzonspor but not a regular player anymore

Tolga Cigerci: Bounced around different clubs from BL to Turkish league, a meh but serviceable background midfielder

Gokhan Tore: At one point an interesting prospect in his earlier days with HSV but career spiralled out of control after getting in trouble with the law, injuries, and just overall lack of discipline

Cenk Tosun: Had a breakthrough with Besiktas in his earlier days but career crashed and burned after being underused at Everton. Doesn't seem to find success outside of the Turkish league

Hakan Calhanouglu: The most successful of all active German-born Turks. A good player on club level with Inter and actively still with their NT

Kenan Karaman: Has previously spent his career bouncing between 1BL and 2BL opportunities. Now with Besiktas but not productive since joining them

Kaan Ayhan: Generally a good but not great CB. Now in his 2nd season with Sassuolo but rotates between starting and bench

Berkay Ozcan: Now in his 3rd season with Basaksehir after leaving Germany. Looks like an okay midfielder but not necessarily a standout level

Guven Yalcin: Had a good showing a couple seasons ago but has seemingly stagnated as of late

Ahmed Kutucu: Just joined Basaksehir in the summer after leaving Schalke. Hasn't established himself yet

are Turkish friends who can't produce their own players have called up to U17
    -CB Nehir from Heidenheim u17
    -RB Yavuz from Schalke u17
    -M Yilmaz from Freiburg u17
-M Sihlaroglu from Karlsruher u17, youngest 2BL debutant ever
    -M Dagdeviren from Hoff u17
    -AM Yildiz from Bayern u17-u19
    -AM Uzun from FCN u17
    -W Demircan from Bayern u17
    -CF Ersungur from Hoff u17

    frick sake 9 fricking players.

annoying that Sihlaroglu and Charodia (1 of 2 Italy YNT poaching) are ones close to 2BL teams. 1st made 2BL/pro debut and other back to back squad but unused.

will Turkey call up all German-Turks 05???

Saw a documentary type video on Youtube a while ago on the footballing culture and development of youth players in Turkey. They're a large country with a huge population but they've had issues with properly bringing up many of their youngsters on the club level. A mix of flaws in their development system along with lack of disciplinary structure which leads to youth burning out and peaking early. So they eagerly seek out players among their diaspora across Europe often
