@mace I am talking exactly about that 2nd picture. I see it way too often. I get that the cf can take 2 defenders with him to the far post and play decoy so a 3rd man can occupy the pk spot/15 yd line but that was not "on" in this case. I did miss the deflection.
Well, to be fair, so far the 4 YsA* who happen to be strikers (although not always playing that position) in top leagues have a grand total of zero goals for the season. ---- * Hoppe, Sargent, Weah and Gioacchini.
🥶 It is cold, but still shorts weather for Josh 💪#NCFC | #NEWNOR pic.twitter.com/WKfcRGmnmL— Norwich City FC (@NorwichCityFC) November 30, 2021 🚨 TEAM NEWS 🚨 Two changes as Lukas Rupp and Christos Tzolis come into the starting XI. Newcastle red 9 minutes in Very dumb play by Clark. Letting Pukki through there is way better than being down a man for 81 minutes.
What a huge break! Newcastle down to 10 men in the 9th minute- red card for Ciaran Clark. Man o man- given Norwich should have won a couple games earlier this year- I really hope they can play this savvy, take their chances, and bring home a win today. A win would be huge in many ways. Norwich finally got some luck- they need to take advantage.
Clark should have let him go 1 v. 1. With Fico Fernandez in, they've changed to a 4-4-1. Norwich should get something out of this one.
Gamesmanship is evolving, now players are taking into consideration where to place their bodies to hide their dives from the cameras. It's a race between technology and the intrinsic human need to cheat.
They are controlling the possession though, which is unusual for them. The rest of the half will probably be pretty mundane, and they'll tweak their tactics at halftime.
If there's a game where Josh should score, it's this. Last team on the table with 10 men from the start. So we need to really give it to him, for some of that Bigsoccer Magic to happen.
Sargent attempts a one-touch finish from about 3 yards out, puts it completely parallel to the goalline, right at a Newcastle defender. Unbelievable.
