Agree with everything here except I do think Sini is worth calling up - he's been part of the process, is one of our most in form players and is a player that creates assists and goals. He isn't going to single handedly change the outcome but he is a sub you could bring into help the attack that will offer links within the field rather than breaking the team like the 6 striker approach does when chasing...
Fortunately, Fifa doesn't appear to hold the inability to score goals against teams...somehow we are in the top 20... https://www.instagram.com/p/CWdyvm-vQWz/?utm_medium=share_sheet
Funny how Uruguay fired their coach with still 4 matches left over. After having for 15 years I assumed that they would trust him to bring it around. But what does that say for us and our current? Low budget means we can't hire a new coach this year and will have to wait until after the world cup. Then again, since it's at the end of the year do you think they'll have money by 2022 for a new coach should we still qualify?
Uruguay has been losing and they're out of qualifying zone. Even if Rueda has been terrible, he only lost to Brazil and we're still 4th. If we qualify, there's no reason to fire Rueda. I like the kid, and I see potential, but he's not a game changer at this point. Not saying that he shouldn't be part of the process, or that he cannot help in certain spots, only that saying that him or Morelos are the answer isn't congruent, when players that are having success in better leagues are looking terribly.
Sure, I don't think there is much to be argued there. I personally don't see what Morelos would add over the core strikers that have been called. Sini, IMHO, just makes a lot of sense because of the options be gives you as a sub and his current form. Not a league argument for me. Just that we called so many 9s and ended up trying to play them all at once...
How can you know he's not a game changer? He hasn't been given opportunities to test that out, Muriel and Duvan are absolutely game changers and they aren't changing games. Morelos has played in Europa League abasing very good teams from very good leagues and has been the best player on the pitch and an absolute game changer. The national team is a very small sample size and you can't judge a player by a small handful of games and playing out of their normal position at that. The Dutch league is head and shoulders better then the Mexican league, the top dutch sides would crush the top Mexican sides easily, you get to weigh yourself in champions and Europa League for both Morelos and Sini and they've been game changers. I can see an argument that they may not be the right fit or that there are other players in their positions that don't make them starters, but that doesn't mean that these guys aren't very good players and are better then guys being called from MLS, LMF and Colombian league.
I don’t follow the logic here: Game changers in a better league are not having an effect, so we should try a guy from a lesser league? EL games are for the most part terrible, barely above FPC games. Rangers has not advanced that deep in EL to face the really good teams in the competition, and Morelos has been quiet in the definitive matches. Dutch league is two good teams and a bunch of semipro sides. Yeah, Ajax has had a few good runs in UCL and have found some talented players, but most have failed when playing in better leagues. Sini has some promise, but to herald him as the solution for the NT is wishful thinking. Morelos doesn’t offer anything that we don’t already have.
Hey guys I have a question. How does ticket buying work in Colombia? I'm strongly considering going to Colombia vs Peru this January as an away fan but don't have a clue how to get tickets or when they come out.
To me, sini has a better passing game / style than most of our mids / forwards Guys like Muriel, Roger, Lucho are the kind of players you give the ball to and hope a golazo happens or a highlight that you share with your friends on YT. Sinister is the kind of guy who gets the ball and looks to create space and opportunity for 2-3 other players Maybe I am over stroking him, but i think if given a string of games, we will see something special. To me, guys like Sinister and Cantillo can be x-factors - must haves for a 23 man roster
Rueda thought that Cuesta wasn't a better starter then Oscar until he was forced to play him, he still doesn't think that Lucemi is a better player then Tesillo. I could watch Cuesta and Lucemi against Liverpool last year to see how they could do, I'm not saying that just because someone plays in the Colombian or Mexican leagues they aren't good enough, but just maybe we shouldn't be relying on the old guys with mediocre careers over the young up and comers who are in better leagues and testing themselves at a higher level who given more time could be game changers for us.
James should not be playing that next WCQ series. It's not even fair to James even, to put him in a situation that is requiring a lot more than he can even physically give. Just not even close to the same player even from a year ago at Everton. If he's not playing competitive futbol by year's end he needs to be left off the list and allowed to get match fit. It shouldn't come at the expense of our MF. Players that I think should be teetering on being dropped for the January WCQ matches based on recent performance -Roger -Muriel -James -Cuellar -Tesillo -------also on the cusp ----- -Cuadrado Replacement Players that should be considered to make a return and/or new to take those spots - Cardona - Sini - Mina - Cuesta - M Uribe - Andrade - Campaz Should be In the mix and/or reevaluated: - Atuesta ( my only reservation would be MLS will be inactive Dec-Early Feb) - Villa (ugggh, this is more of a moral dilemma for Rueda). He could solve a lot of things for Colombia and at the very least provide some more energy and speed upfront. Villa is not as talented/nor a better finisher than Diaz but 1 v 1 Villa is just very difficult to stop. And this current Colombia team is depending a whole lot on 1 v 1s since we lack any collectivity/ideas in the MF. Rueda is 'old school' so I don't see it happening but he could get pressured into getting him into the roster.
1. Roger have contributed actually more than other forwards in his last matches. One goal agaisnt bolivia and assited agaisnt chile. Only Borja have btter numbers....in that case duvan or borre should leave before... 2. tesillo wasnt bad as central back this matches,....actually was worse davinson.....his passed was a good tool to explore 3. Cuellar have had normal matches...befiore him lerma should be out...actually agaisnt ecuador colombia reocver possesion thank to him 4. muriel havent had chance to completo 200 matches...would be super unfair dropping him. 5. Villa started to play two weeks ago...after 5 months withou played.....his problem inst just a "moral dilemma".........and boca fans never have been 100 complaint with his performance his performance as cardona is unstable....
i can't remember as i haven't been to colombia in literally years but I used to use "TuBoleta" I remember they had kiosks in random parts of the city. Im sure there's other ways
I really don't want to see Villa on the team, we have plenty of good wide players now and this guy is a complete shit show over the last few years on the club and personal front. We can't lower our standards to not punish players for stuff like he's done recently, if he has a few years and it gets straightened out then maybe but for now we really shouldn't touch him.
I've heard they come out a month before, hopefully I get to it on time. From Toronto the flight tickets are $600 but if I drive to Newark I can get it down to $200. That's what I plan. My dad used to live in Barranquilla and told me the place where the Metropolitano is located isn't a nice area, but I'm not scared at all. I'll just go casually and not in a Peru kit.
If those $200 tickets are spirit air don't fall for it, they upsell everything and the last time I had a flight to Medellin with them they just up and cancelled it last minute for no reason and it took me hours to get reimbursed for a new flight.
It's about 8-9 hours to drive, something I've done before. I think it's worth it to save $400 Interesting, it is spirit air. I'll have to keep that in mind.
Honestly I used to use them all the time 20 years ago and I swore I would never use them again, they are easily the worst airline, they won't even give you a water without charging you, they charge you for a carry on, the base price is heavily misleading and the airline is a disaster. I'm 5'10 and their seats are basically so tight (they cram in an extra row) that its unbearable almost. The worst part though is they quite often have direct flights to Colombia, I only took that Medellin flight because it was so short and got burned in the end anyways.
That's a shame, the next cheapest is $500. Either way it's better than going from Toronto and making 3 connections. I had to do that to fly to Peru this time around.
