I will not be catching tonight's Maryland v LIU match - Go Terps! - but I might catch the game Georgetown is hosting on Sunday.
Saw that, lost 0-1 at the very end. UNC through on PKs, after 0-0 - apparently UNC has conceded very few goals this season.
Hofstra (4 scores) only club to put up more than 2gs. BE: (4 winners tonight) get real with some tough opposition Sun.
I wound up not going to MD, rainy and cold. I did see the goal - it was a doozy. Name a more beautiful goal. We’ll wait….. Nope. No we won’t. 😏Assane Ben Fall with the gorgeous shot that sends @LIUMSOC to the next round of the NCAA tournament! 😍 @NECsports pic.twitter.com/7ZRZHT0Una— LIU Athletics (@LIUAthletics) November 19, 2021
UNC offensively there was not much, two shots on goal. Loyola-MD were very solid, represented the Patriot League well last night. UNC heads to New Hampshire, not Duke, as I previously thought. But I will be at Duke vs UCLA on Sunday, harkens be back this one in 2006, https://goduke.com/news/2006/11/26/696206.aspx My youngest son was a ball boy at this game, he got a good taste of how intense the players can get when it is survive or go home. After the game he told me that a UCLA player got mad at him and screamed at him "Give me the f***ing ball". He was 8, first time I think I heard him drop the f-bomb. All is good, this may have started his competitive soccer journey.
That duke game left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Wasn't really rooting for either team but there was a lot of nastiness on both sides, imo DUKE more than UCLA. Tbf, I did not see the first red
I have watched UCLA a few times this year and they are always ready to get into it with anyone....don't know about Duke as much but yes it wasn't the nicest game but it was high entertainment.
Happy to see that, although it highlights imo poor 'bracketing,' as Georgetown and Providence will now play each other for the third time this season. They should have been spread further apart.
Was 8-0 after 68 minutes. Hofstra was up 3-0 at halftime and scored less than 25 seconds into the second half.
first red was a 2nd yellow. both were physical fouls. second seemed legitimately yellow. first not so much.
