Frankly, hes the sort of player Arsenal have needed for the past 15 years. Itd be a great purchase by Arsenal.
Turkey’s skill level is not that bad, but the payment maybe an issue. About Russia, all their clubs are funded by big Oil and Gas, with the oil and gas price in current level, paycheck is NOT a problem. LOL.
They don't particularly want to. The salary cap means some guys earn peanuts and teams spend on offense. It's not sexy or necessary to pony up big dollars to pay fullbacks. Especially since we seem to produce a ton of RBs, either naturally or converted wingers. The salary cap means teams can't stupidly bankrupt themselves, and brings parity to the league and it's better for it. Spending limits also means teams spend their big wads at DLP level players and fill the rest of the roster with cheap, generally young filler. That's how kids get a chance to play and then earn further minutes. The last thing this league needs is more meh veteran, mostly South American depth. Paying Bello $400k doesn't help anyone except Bello and his agent. There are several issues with MLS. How it spends it's salary money isn't one of them, imo. Good for Vines, Duncan, Bello, etc to chase that middling league Euro money. I wish them all the best.
Im surprised Russia is not viewed at as more of an option for our, well, fairer skinned players (no easy way to say what is implied there. We know what non-white players face there). Ive read they might drop foreign restrictions significantly and expand the league to 18 teams in the next few years, so maybe it could become an option. Turkey looks like its entire league structure is imploding. I have no idea how Trabzonspor, Galatasaray, Fenerbache, Besiktas function. They are billions in debt. But........Istanbul (and turkey for that matter) are probably nice from a lifestyle standpoint. So long as your paycheck hits in dollars and not Turkish Lira.
Paying American players more who earn it is better for American soccer when there still are major part of the US who don't think you can earn a very good salary as a soccer player. Proof is it does and should be advertised as such.
This is inevitable, and there will be some blowback from the USMNT fanbase as part of it. MLS has aspirations beyond what it is now. They resisted being a selling league forever because they want to improve the league itself, make it a "league of choice" and selling good players seems counter to that. It took them a while, but the Davies and other sales moved the market enough that (a) they started getting offers that were worth it and (b) they woke up to the revenue stream. While individual owners' intent may vary on the day to day, the league's long term intent -- and by that I mean Garber and the league office, as well as a vague head nod in strategy from the collective owners -- is to take that revenue stream and reinvest in the product. The challenge has always been that marginal investments in payroll don't seem to result in material, short term revenue increases. MLS could double payrolls but that wouldn't double revenue in the short term. Selling provides a bridge. But the result WILL be higher salaries. This will be a good thing long term as more young players see it as a career option. It will also cause a lot of short term angst as some young players choose to stay in MLS rather than take a pay cut. That will largely be up to them, of course, but it's easier to jump when there's a pay raise coming. Golden handcuffs are a thing. On the flip, the increase in league quality that hopefully comes with that will also have its pros and cons. Play will be better competition better, and hopefully development better. But it might be less teenagers getting time because they they won't always be the best option, etc. Perhaps USLC will be better by then, etc. There's going to be a lot of back and forth over the long run. If we're lucky.
When MLS started paying some players more, the folks here started accusing MLS of holding Americans players hostage by enticing them with more money. No, I am not kidding. I agree with you though. Kids here see what happens here most of all. So it is not a bad thing for people who want to stay anyway.

MLS may have improved the bank accounts and general happiness of some players, but it definitely had an impact their playing careers and USMNT as a result. Not sure what MLS got out of it. It will definitely be a good things for kids to see they can make a good living playing the game here but don't buy that kids follow what happen here more. I see way more kids in Barca, ManU, Dortmund, etc jerseys than MLS ones. The kids are dreaming of being Pulisic, Mckennie, Brooks, etc, not Besler, Zusi, Bradley, etc. Having MLS as a fall back is great though.
Today could be the first time two Americans started opposite each other in the Bundesliga … that have never met before! Ok probably not, but the idea that Scally and Green would have no real basis to share a post-game “how you doing, man?” Just jumped out at me.
Pulisic scored today against Leicester, 71st minute Green subbed out at half time of a BMG beat down Miazga back firmly on the bench for Alaves, thats pretty disappointing

Change my mind.— Rob Usry (@RobUsry) November 20, 2021
It would be an interesting look to try in a friendly but I'd worry about him getting hacked by CBs all game even worse than on the wing.
Great to see Pulisic finding his form. I like the ST / false 9 idea. He's probably our best finisher and will cause all kinda of issues in and just below the box.
Robinson and Ream both started and were solid enough in a 4-1 victory for Fulham over Barnsley. That goal was the first Fulham has conceded in over a month. Seven wins in a row with 25 goals scored and 2 conceded.
Based on the inconsistency in some of the rest of our CB pool.........................and the MLS guys perhaps not match fit......................I'm perfectly happy with Ream being included on the January roster. Anybody with me? For that window?
Its possible Green is going to be on the worst team in the history of the Bundesliga. That team is badly outmatched. So far only one point on the season with a GD of -25. Probably the worst team in a top 5 league since Norwich has won two games in a row.
