Low got out of group of death in 2020 Euro but flopped vs Sweden, Mexico and Korea, that wasn't a hard group, LMAO.
hahahaha yeah it is what it is....... the other groups will also not be easy with teams like.. Holland Portugal; Denmark
Then again the 2020 Euro group of death ended up being the group of the dead, as all three who qualified were knocked out the moment they stepped into the knockout phase.
maybe that's issue, took so much energy/effort that come R16 and all 3 were drained. France lost to PKs, Portugal only 1-0 and Germany dumb tactics and close misses killed us, England wasn't better, just that any team can beat Low's Germany from 2018-2021.
I know this is early but this is what the experts are busy making their money with - giving their opinions: Dieter Hammann WC team Tor: Neuer, ter Stegen, Trapp Abwehr: Günter, Raum, Kehrer, Rüdiger, Ginter, Baku, Süle Mittelfeld: Arnold, Kimmich, Goretzka, Neuhaus, Wirtz Angriff: Sané, Adeyemi, Müller, Musiala, Gnabry, Havertz, Nmecha, Werner Lothar Matheus WC team Tor: Neuer, ter Stegen, Trapp Abwehr: Hoffmann,Günter, Schlotterbeck, Kehrer, Rüdiger, Ginter, Gosens, Süle Mittelfeld: CAN, Gundo, Kimmich, Goretzka, Angriff: Sané, Reus, Müller, Musiala, Gnabry, Havertz, Nmecha, Werner
Hamann hasn’t picked Hofmann? Surprised tbh, I am pretty certain he will start under Flick. Also no Reus? Boo. Plus Raum instead of Gosens. Biggest call is Arnold instead of Gundogan - would be a popular decision with some posters on here….lol Matthäus has Hofmann instead of Baku (more likely) but no Adeyemi or Wirtz (boo). Also Can instead of Neuhaus. Neither have selected Burkardt, who I think will be called up soon, or Hummels, who I think will be back for the World Cup.
Yes - coming out of the group of death is usually fatal to a team trying to go on Germany, France and Portugal all played basically 3 big elimination games in a short period.
So, based on the formula, using the previous Netherlands v Norway example I used meant in my calculations that with a Dutch win - 1652.01 + 25* 0.79935 So the Dutch gained 13.1 world rankings points from winning the match.
Nov 14, 2021 Montenegro (MNE) (+6.60) 2-2 Netherlands (NED) (-6.60) Nov 17, 2021 Netherlands (NED) (+8.31) 2-0 Norway (NOR) (-8.31) So the Dutch made in the last two games a plus of 1.71 Points from last month Germany : Nov 12, 2021 Germany (GER) (+1.39) 9-0 Liechtenstein (LIE) (-1.39) Nov 15, 2021 Armenia (ARM) (-4.47) 1-4 Germany (GER) (+4.47) Winning both games only scored them 5.86 plus points
Sorry my bad. I didn’t just divide 189.39 by 600, I then subtracted 0.332 from 1.1 instead and then used that as the power (not sure why need to concentrate better lol). The way the formula is weighted ensures a double minus if you win which means + points. And the reverse if you draw or lose as the higher rated team. Which is also why a draw is 0.5 instead of 1. Anyway 8.31 is correct. Now everyone can work out rankings points on offer for every Germany match lol.
So i see Playing the Euros has far less value then playing the WC .So FIFA says the Confed cup and the Confederation CUPS(euros) are basically equal and the WC is the ultimate I: importance of match I= 05 Friendly matches played outside of International Match Calendar windows I= 10 Friendly matches played during International Match Calendar windows I= 15 Group phase matches of Nations League competitions I= 25 Play-off and final matches of Nations League competitions I= 25 Qualification matches for Confederations final competitions and for FIFA World Cup final competitions I= 35 Confederation final competition matches up until the QF stage (Euros_ I= 40 Confederation final competition matches from the QF stage onwards; all FIFA Confederations Cup matches (Euros_and confed cup) I= 50 FIFA World Cup final competition matches up until QF stage I= 60 FIFA World Cup final competition matches from QF stage onwards
well done - I still haven't quite figured it out a 100% ... will just use the calculator... but at least now I fully understand how they calculate the points. At least its based on pure math's and not on any sentiment.
Couldn’t have helped, but I felt like Low’s tactics hindered the team plus confidence seemed low, with too many off form players. Play that match again with Flick as coach, a 4-2-3-1 formation with a Kimmich - Goretzka midfield and an in form Müller, Sané and Gnabry supporting Werner or Havertz in attack with Reus. Wirtz, Musiala and Adeyemi ready to come off the bench and we would be a totally different animal.
I feel even Flick played 3 -4-3 against Armenia, the game also looks different than Low. Players stand as a group a lot of movement interchanging and fast pace, not some boring shit. Actually not bad to start Gundo Goretzka and Kimmich all 3 together. I guess it's all depends on opponent.
Yes agreed …against Armenia he for sure played a 3-4-3 But Armenia game was not all the great . We were also open for counters again reminded me a bit of Jogi days
World cup rankings by The Guardian, take it for what you will. I find it odd, though, that in an English newspaper the current German team is ranked third while England team is fourth. I don't think the current team is third given form - Flick has only had the team for 3 months and I expect he is still working out deifinitive lineups and tactics, i.e. they should only get better. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...m_source=esp&utm_medium=Email&CMP=fiver_email
I find it way stranger that Brazil is #1 on their list. This Brazilian team is more like Germany '02 than anything else. They will crush badly next year when they meet an European power house,
or will make final and lose 2-0 to Germany in final, double from Werner who wins Golden boot with 8 goals. 2022=20th anniversary.
