We are in the same place as we were when we were in all the conmebol tourneys. And if anything we were struggling harder In WC qualifying when we were in conmebol. So it’s not us being In concacaf that we are not improving
Marcelo Flores is a difference maker at this U20 level. He’s got a lot of potential. Hopefully he just grows a couple more inches.
Our other RB option who just switched to play with Mexico is apparently being eyed by Inter. After all the hoopla regarding his switch why didn’t Tata call him up? Can’t be worse than Chaka’s dumbass
Mexico fielding 5'10 goalkeepers in 2021. Kid wasn't bad and can still grow but clubs not focusing on size in their academies is going to bite them all in the ass, especially clubs like Necaxa who don't have regio money to always be able to cover their gaps by just buying South Americans.
Yea... You know damn well the U.S. and Canada have wayyyyy more White kids playing. Only thing is the small minority Black kids are simply more Athletic so they get progressed. The population numbers prove it. As well as knowing Soccer in the states is more of a suburban sport.
Christ, you guys need to STFU about race... Our NT problems aren't remotely racial. 90% of Mexico National Team issues are because of disfunction and/or shortsightedness of the federation and LigaMX owners...
I agree with this, but I also agree that the problem isn’t a racial thing. It’s a mentality and priority problem. Where countries like the US and Canada get to run their programs with less of a spotlight and pressure to churn out money, Mexican soccer is an international product that is mined and exploited rather than crafted and developed. Being physically gifted will certainly help, but soccer is one of the few sports where skill, technique and endurance can and dies very often trump physical advantages. Mexico produces more than enough technically gifted players to compete. They just get chewed up by the system in which they play. The real cringe race talk is the weekly stuff you hear on the sports news or at the bar about basketball and football players.
There are at minimum 2 parts to “fixing” Mexican fútbol in my opinion. 1) Fundamental issues - League, profit vs development, meaningful tournaments, etc… 2) Practical issues - Because #1is all sorts of fkd up, Mexican fútbol has to work with what it has. Working with what Mexican fútbol has ends up reverting to issues found in #1. It is a vicious cycle driven any profit margins that has demonstrated either a stagnant fútbol system and a digression in Mexican fútbol. Yes, other countries within CONCACAF have grown but Mexico should also. re: demographic. I am not searching through 400+ pages but I am sure argentina and Germany have been brought up
