I believe Serbia packed their midfield with 5 guys while we had a three man midfield which included an over the hill player in Moutinho. We also had 2 forwards who don't defend in Ronaldo and Jota. At least Ronaldo can dribble, Jota can't hold the ball for shit.
When I see Netherlands appear in the draw, I see it as basically an automatic bye to the next round for Portugal. The Germans likely feel the same way about us.
We would beat Germany with a mildly competent coach. The extent at which Santos got outcoached against them at the Euros was embarrassing.
So now we know all the playoff teams. The unseeded teams and possible first opponents for us: Poland, North Macedonia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Austria and Ukraine. Seeded teams are hosts in the "semi final".... not that playing at home matters as we just showed vs Serbia
From those we would beat all except ukraine. They cucked us last time out in similar fashion to Serbia Its gross how these games arent two legged though. I'm sure the break down for the playoffs will be three groups. Pot#1 Portugal, Italy and I believe Poland will be top seeds in each group. Pot #2 teams will probably be Sweden, Russia and the Ukraine. Pot #3 teams will be Turkey, Wales and Scotland. Pot#4 will be North Macedonia, Czech Republic and Austria.

The draw for the play offs takes place Friday Nov 26. The semi finals March 24,25 and the finals March 28,29th. Seeded: Portugal, Scotland, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Wales Unseeded: Turkey, Poland, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Austria, Czech Republic Will be a long wait. See how this team shapes up by then.
