Panama doesn’t worry me. They’ll battle it out with Canada for third. Something tells me this US team is going to get a win in Kingston.
I thought Aaronson was our best player. Our MMA midfield can't pass. It's embarrassing. Look at the first half. Mexico put on a passing clinic and we put on a defending clinic.
Do not start Pulisic at JAM. He’s not fit and the field will be poor quality. Keep him on the bench and, if we are winning, there’s no need to play him.
I like Weah. I may have misunderstood his play before. I think he is someone you learn to play with as opposed to pass the ball and watch. In a way it was good for Gio Dest and Pulisic to watch the team they got instead of wishing for their club teams. 2-0! Stamp it.
Sweet. I was wondering what was under there and never got to see it on the broadcast. This is even more GLORIOUS than expected. F yes Christian
He worked his butt off. Had a nice look in 58th minute or so I thought he should have put on cage and a ball earlier from Wes or Musah that he didn't reach. Both were made for CP. We saw tonight that CP and Weah are the starting wings. Aaronson is first to relieve either.
Maybe you've touched on why no team has ever won the WC with a manager who was not a citizen of the winning nation.
I'm doing my best to keep up with new posts but haven't yet seen any concern about Tyler Adams. He looked like he got maybe a hamstring cramp in the 93rd minute. I hope it was just a cramp and nothing more, otherwise we'll be missing both he and McKennie in midfield against Jamaica. Also, he got that really hard knock from behind earlier in the game.
yep, and ive explained it plenty and stand by it. two fantastic accomplishments. but as a defense of berhalter playing acosta at the 8 or starting lletget? they mean absolutely nothing.
WHAT? Dropping an in form Wes? This is insane. Sure Musah did well tonight, but don't forget Wes score the winning goal tonight. Both Musah and Reyna got talents, but they still got a bit to go before jumping ahead a man who's starting and scoring goals for Juventus in Serie A.
I'm happy to finally see our talent advantage translate to goals and a convincing victory. I still think Berhalter is a poor coach who was fortunate that nepotism and favoritism gave him his job, and he's blessed with the most talented generation of soccer players in our country's history, with even more talent coming over the next decade and beyond. I just hope he can let his talent play and get out of the way, which he did tonight. No Arriola, Lleget, or Roldan in sight tonight, which was a relief. Looking forward to the days where they're not even on the roster, and guys like KDLF, Hoppe, Caden Clark, and Sanogo rise up the depth chart, with waves of more talented kids coming up behind them as well. Weah was awesome tonight. Musah was excellent, and McKennie had a fantastic, steady performance as well. The back line was good, even though I thought Antonee Robinson had a subpar game passing the ball. Zimmerman and Miles were very, very good. Moving forward, I think our highest ceiling is going to be with Dest at RB and Scally at LB. Perhaps next window we might see a game with them at those spots in the starting lineup. I want this team to crush Mexico in Azteca with Reyna, Dest, and Scally in addition to the rest of our talented roster. Embarrass them and depress them, because they'll know once and for all that they're going to get dominated by the U.S. for the next decade.
I love Weah, but I don't think he's a lock starter over Aaronson. They bring different things to the team and should be used situationally. It ********ing rules that we can have multiple options that are good now!
I'd have felt a little bit better about the next game with Miles. His absence will be felt. McKennie, too, but Robinson especially has the pace and 1v1 ability to neutralize Antonio and Bailey on the break.
Really just a consistently good performance across the board tonight. Weah, Zimm, and Steffen had their best performances in a USMNT shirt IMO, and Yedlin had his best in a long time. If I'm trying to think of the worst players it would maybe be Adams and ARob, and they were mostly fine. The best I've felt after a performance in a long time
It really bugs me that Zimmerman has that MLS dust on him which is totally due to the league not playing faster. Garber has to get on that. Why waste all the talent we have in MLS just because it is not developed properly? The game is a lot more entertaining ($$$$$) when it moves faster.
