To be fair, they played pretty darn well if you consider they are facing the champion of America and have 8 players unavailable, including several key starters. Many other sides would have folded under those conditions, but they actually put up a great fight (at least in the 30 or so mins I watched)

After we scored the side disappeared not helped by the imbalance in the midfield and general sloppiness.

I hope staff and players learn their lessons from this to make us stronger. Uruguay deserved a draw at the very least.

Scaloni got it all wrong today. That was brutal to watch. A win is a win but yikes, what a terrible showing on our part.

Di Maria and Dybala combo early in the game proof to be crucial.

3 points at away game against Uruguay who's fighting badly for top 5 spot, no Messi for majority of the game, cant ask for more.

We're pretty much qualify now. 8 points ahead of 3rd place with a game in spare.

To be fair, if this was our old teams from years ago, we wouldnt be able to snatch an away win against opponent who's playing like that.

To be fair, Dybala wouldn’t have done anything. Our midfield and attack was just missing. We had no idea how to combat Uruguay’s pressure.

We should be thankful that Emi and Cuti has popped up in the last year or so. Imagine Armani and Pezzella in the back today?:eek:

We probably should be at 33 points right now. Foyth’s blunder v Colombia and we were playing our best football when we were up against Brasil. We would’ve taken that game. We are still not automatically qualified but I believe with another win, we’ll get our ticket to Qatar.

If Tucu burried those two easy 1 vs 1 chances, we would still won 3-0 :D, but he reminds me of our previous "9", in fact the minutes he gets, the more he reminds me of that guy.

I cant believes he didnt at least squared the box to the center on that second one.

We completely dominated that game and should have won 3-0. We had bad luck

Probably our worst win. Took a huge error by Uruguay and a moment of brilliance by Di Maria. Oh well these things happen. Now beat Brazil!

Very very ugly win. Uruguay very dominant most of the game.

Very poor tactics from Scaloni where we needed more midfield control.

Need a better performance vs Brazil.

They have possession at 65% for us. How can that be? I felt that we were back on our heels all game.

Guido and Lo celso were very poor today and I feel like that contributed to a lot of Uruguay's chances.

Papu Gomez is such a calming presence on the ball and a dangerous attacking player on the left.

Angel Correa was invisible. He had some bad tackles.

Need to see more Dybala and someone stronger as CDM (please Scaloni let's see what Lisandro Martinez can do).

Good thing Dybala made good contribution within his limited playing time.

I do like Papu , he seems to be solid most of the time but when playing one half. He's able to take on few players with his run like RDP.

    For the Brazil game:

    1. Montiel should start and NOT Molina.
    2. Guido, Gio and RDP must train their ********ing passing everyday. Especially the passing coming out from the backline. If we lose a million balls like today we'll lose 0-5 with the brazucas.

It is sad that one of the few games Dybala starts, our team has a collective breakdown. No offensive player in the world would have looked good the way we played after our goal.

Scaloni is saying that Dybala himself requested the change due to muscle overload.

Also, Messi looked completely out of sorts. Not trying to accelerate on purpose.

If he is going to play like on pins and needles, he really shouldn’t be playing against Brazil.

Emi said in his interview that Messi is definitely not 100%.

Cuti, Emi, Acuna, and Di Maria are the only ones to emerge with any credit from this game.

Like Rattlehead and Supamario said, we would have lost this game without Cuti and Emi.

Hopefully we got the one bad game out of our system. What does alarm me is Lo Celso’s form.

Not having Messi will always gives opponents some adventage, cause his mere presence means multiple opposition players would constantly needs to pay attention to his movement. Noticed after he came in , we had few great chances right away cause Tucu finally getting unmarked.

Paredes absent is another notable thing. RDP seems to be doing triple duty since Lo Celso wasnt covering much space. RDP was fouled countless times as a result.

Otamendi also lacked concentration, he passed the ball to Uruguay player even though he's not under preasure. Luckily Uruguay has been terrible at the front these days.

I didnt like Messi body language at all, he must be still carrying an injury and constantly being preasured by PSG not to play.

Interesting how things stand. It is unclear, according to this person, which FIFA ranking date they’ll use. Could be November or could be March or April. Teams that go into the playoff could have a chance to gain more points. Also CONMEBOL still has matches in February and March. But if we go by this, there will certainly be a couple group of deaths.
