Who's going to blast the USSF? And will the USSF care? Columbus has seen the last of USAvMex. Might as well just make peace with it.
Correct. And I would suspect that unless the U.S notches another dos a cero (or better), Cindy isn’t going to get it again either.
This. This is the last WC that the US will ever need to qualify for. 2026 we get an auto bid for hosting and beyond that the field is 48 of which CONCACAF gets six spots instead of the current three plus one. Mexico games will be in NFL stadia going forward because they'll be meaningless exhibitions.
Folks, due to two recent deaths in the family and the effects it has on my heatlh, I regretfully will not be able to attend the USMNT WCQ v. Mexico in Cincinnati next Friday. I have a pair in the ADA seating at the top of 224, which I equate to sitting at the top of the Nordecke at HCS. I am only asking to recoup the $170 each I paid for them. Please PM me if you're interested. I am providing the following from USSoccer as proof that I was awarded the tickets and their cost: Dear Scott, Congratulations on your application being selected for tickets to the match! Your application has been selected for tickets in the following level: Level 14 - $170 A map of the stadium can be found here.
Can folks send me links where I could post these and possibly get them transferred within the next few days? I think I went through FB to get my Costa Rica tickets sold, but I do not remember exactly where I went as I tried so many different ways.
Go to the ticketmaster site where you view them and there is an option there to sell tickets. You should get double your money based on what I am seeing available easy. Wish I could swing it myself for your tix. I would avoid Facebook or blind transfer as it is an easy way to get scammed. Let me know issues and I'll try to help.
Ok you sucked me into it. I'll take them. I'll dm you my details and just let me know how you want paid.
Shoot looks like I was too late. Let me know if they fall through. I will take. Best wishes to you and your family.
This is likely the last USA/MEX WCQ of any consequence for the foreseeable future. 2026: USA & Mexico in as hosts. 2030 & beyond. WC will expand to 48. CONCACAF will likely get 6 slots. That likely will be the end of a single final group (Hex/Oct). I mean, you'd have to have at least 10 teams in that group to make only 6 qualifying reasonable (SA has 5 from 10). Otherwise, the games lose meaning if 6 of 8 qualify. If it sticks around as a final group, I do not think USA/Mex would be in any real danger of finishing 7th. Do you? But that would mean 18 final round qualifiers. This year we have 14. I think the trend is gonna be to try and reduce the # of games, not increase them. Thus, the most likely scenario if we get two (or more) groups. With top 2 or 3 qualifying. Or six groups with the winner qualifying. Either way, as soon as you go multiple groups, the top two seeds are never gonna be in the same group, so unless one team falters badly in the rankings, you will not see USA/Mex at all in qualifying. Expanding to 48 is a terrible idea. If everyone gets in, then the qualifying matches loose meaning as well and become a gigantic waste of time.
There will still be competitive matches vs Mexico of course. There will still be the Gold Cup and Nations League.
Yep, USSF will put those in pointyball stadia to max revenue and the crowd will be at least 60% Mexico fans.
Winning the conference makes a difference in seeding at the WC. The rivalry with Mexico will never lose consequence regardless of how many lesser teams qualify.
Bet we see a three group set up. Winners make it outright. Hex out of the two runners-up for the last three spots. Or simply a playoff
I’m in the middle of a Twitter war now because people are trying to make it sound racist that the USSF are trying to achieve home field advantage.
