No. I think that in the interim he has played in ways not captured by your description. He always deserved to be in front of Lletget, but after this fall with Venezia it is no contest. That’s all I’m saying.
I made no comment about that. I agree with your statement. I'm simply saying that it's ridiculous to make it about him not being in MLS.
A fair criticism of Gregg is his deferrence to european clubs wishes when it comes to the back end of the roster. I get the feeling that a lot of these decisions come down to "if our guy is the backup right now, we don't want them to fly cross the world"
That's odd. He was playing for Kcity and Eggy never called him iirc. When he moved to Venice, Eggy called him up. What am I missing?
It might be both, and I'm fine with that. Not much difference between players 21-40 on the lists, and keeping good relationships wth clubs is important. It's also a matter of personal prefferences, I'd like to see more Dike, LDLT, Hoppe, and Mihailovic, but I'm not the coach.

Reynolds and Dike 🐺 "This is a really difficult moment for Bryan Reynolds... I'm sure he'll leave [Roma] in January."🟣 "I'm told some Italian clubs are watching [Daryl Dike] closely."@FabrizioRomano looks ahead to the midseason window and what it could mean for some #USMNT players.— House of Champions (@ChampsHouseCBS) November 8, 2021
Nothing. We have to remind ourselves that he was playing as a forward for the U17s at the U17 World Cup only 2 years ago. Oct/Nov of 2019. [Reyna, Pepi, Bello, and Scally were also part of that team. That's how young we are.] Then COVID hit right after that event, shutting down the 2020/1 U20 cycle and USMNT games. Busio would have been one of the key players on that U20 team. After the USMNT camps started up again, it didn't take long for Berhalter to involve Busio. The bigger question might be why Kreis and the U23s didn't bother looking at him. Cuz both the cancelled 2020 and and the 2021 event were before his move to Italy. Instead, we recruited dual-nationals like Perea and Johnny to be part of that team. If there's one thing I do give credit to Berhalter for, its that he's given a ton of opportunities to really young players. And not just the guys that are currently part of the team. He called up Justin Che, Cade Cowell, and others. He called in Paredes and Nyeman of DCU to train with the Gold Cup team. And it hasn't mattered if they're based in MLS or in Europe. We can criticize Berhalter for a lot of things, but his aggressiveness with young players isn't one of them.
79.2 - Heracles Almelo's Luca de la Torre has completed 79.2 percent of his dribbles this Eredivisie season (19/24), the highest percentage of all players to have attempted at least 20 dribbles. Skillful. pic.twitter.com/yEF602YEUY— OptaJohan (@OptaJohan) November 9, 2021 “form”
Yes, I saw him play a little and he was much improved from u20 days. He plays very much the same position as Ferreira, That could be the problem.
break the bank Venezia, you know you want to….,,., think of those defense breaking Busio corners connecting with Dike all game
I don't believe Valencia plays him consistently in the middle of the pitch do they? Mostly out wide I think.
Steve Nash, Stu Holden, and Kyle Martino may be the more famous owners of Hoppe's Mallorca, but Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver is the one with the big bucks... Allegations of racism and misogyny within the Phoenix Suns: Inside Robert Sarver's 17-year tenure as owner
1. Not getting my hopes up but good luck to him 2. There are a bunch of report out right now in Belgium linking #RBNY right back Kyle Duncan to KV Oostende in Belgium, on a free transfer. I've heard this is true and that it's close. I've been very impressed with Duncan this year who I think has made big strides in his game.— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) November 10, 2021
By the way, that would be the 5th former MLS player in Belgium (USMNT/CMT eligible ones). Sam Vines (Royal Antwerp) Mark McKenzie (KRC Genk) Chris Durkin (Sint-Truidense) Tajon Buchanan (Club Brugge) Kyle Duncan (KV Oostende??) All of the American ones are academy homegrowns from Colorado, Philly, DCU, and NYRB (although Kyle had a jaunt in France first)
