At first, I thought it was for the Suriname Football Federation, but it's not. Based on what I know about pro soccer across the globe (which isn't all that extensive), I'll go with Robin Hood, as it's the only professional team I am familiar with from Suriname...
Who is the idiot that wrote this article? He begins his piece with this wonder: "The United States national team has been somewhat of a laughing stock in world football in the past 20 years." Well, I'm laughing at your use of the singular possessive club's when the word you're looking for is the plural clubs.
Another scandal for the Whitecaps. God, what a scummy organization we still have. Hopefully everyone in any executive role from back then finally gets fired. I suspect MLS will make them do it since Kerfoot obviously doesn't care. Whitecaps rocked by latest sexual misconduct allegation, place members of executive on leave The Vancouver Whitecaps have placed several members of their senior leadership team on administrative leave after allegations of sexual misconduct by a former women’s team coach were reported on Thursday. Malloree Enoch detailed her story to The Guardian’s Matthew Hall in a story published on Friday. She accused former women’s coach Hubert Busby Jr. of trying to solicit sex when she was in the middle of being recruited to the team in 2011. The team sent out a news release at 5 p.m. on Friday addressing the situation. The Guardian had reached out to the team on multiple occasions for comment from Oct. 19 onward. More info in the link above.
Boy, now that's confidence. The guy was trying to convince a player to join his team and apparently figured that him giving her a good rogering would seal the deal.
The guys language skills are sub par but the biggest problem to me is that what he says is just stupid. The US may not have had a ton of world cup success over the past several cycles but it's just not true that the US is a "laughing stock" in world football. I'm not going to waste much time refuting something that ignorant, but I would beg to point out that the last time I saw the FIFA Coca Cola rankings, the US was ranked 10th in the world. When you lead an article with something that stupid, I'm not reading any farther because you're an idiot.
Right? Screams regency bias more than anything. Not surprised the author is like 25 years old and a Liverpool fanboy. Lazy journalism. If you want to see what a laughing stock is, take a look back at USMNT failing to qualify for multiple World Cups between 1954 to 1986.
