George Maridis in Germany

    He seems to have recently become eligible to play for for TSC Zweibruecken:

    Erstmals für den TSC spielberechtigt war George Maridis. Der 20-jährige Amerikaner von der Eastern Illinois University ist für eineinhalb Jahre in Deutschland, wo er auf der Air Base in Landstuhl arbeitet, wie Rubeck erklärt. Maridis trainiert seit vier Wochen mit den Zweibrückern und ist seit Donnerstag spielberechtigt. Der Außenbahnspieler bringe taktisch und fußballerisch vieles mit. Zum Einsatz kam er am Sonntag noch nicht.​

    That translation seems to indicate he's at a U.S. air base, so perhaps he's a ROTC student or reserve or something; I really don't know. He wasn't on EIU's roster last season, which I believe would've been his sophomore year, or the year before.

    It looks like he's an '01 who was with an NPSL club earlier this year.

    I'm guessing he is "just" a DOD civilian employee. He could be a military spouse as well.
