Never should we in the US expect even decent commentating particularly when, like in this game, the only thing that matters to the commentators is the "fluff" that is happening away from the match. Lloyd has been great for the US and she well deserves her moment in the spotlight but that "spotlight" should NOT happen at all during play. There is a LOT of time before and after the game and that does not even include halftime. BTW: To me, and I know what the general rule says, the goal should have been called a "own goal." That is unless Horan called her bank shot.
Fox could prove to be a good shooter if she would just keep the ball down. But she is a defender and, in general, defenders want to kick high and wide when pressured most of the time. BTW: the idea of a professional foul just seems wrong. I really think the those kind of cheap dirty fouls should be punished more than a yellow card but less than a red. It is too bad there is not a penalty box in soccer.
Actually, even in the last match, it very much looked like the US was always shooting to hit someone from SK. It the last game they kept kitting the 'keeper pretty much dead center. This time the US is hitting someone on SK before it gets to the 'keeper. That, at least, gives it a better chance of going in, as we are seeing in this match.
And it really was among the best shots of the match. SK just needs more shots to make this a little interesting.
Rapinoe is just MUCH too slow to play at even this level. MY grandmother is faster and she has been dead for over 100 years.
