Argentina is historically the #2 team in South America, and still currently #3 above Chile. Remember, they had only a -1 GD in the 2019 WC group stage in a group that featured Japan, England, and Scotland. Sure, Argentina hasn't won a game this year, but look at their 2021 schedule: Brazil, Canada, USA, Venezuela, Brazil, Brazil, Mexico That's 5 of 7 games they were expected to get blown out on, with the other two expected as fairly even. Oddly, they played Canada quite close and instead got blown out by Mexico. Also, Mexico beat Colombia 2-0 last month.
