OK...I was a fool on the earlier post. New England is a dangerous team come playoff time. What a comeback for the Revs! Orlando moves back to 4th place. Nashville up to 3rd.
Amazing. The Revs tonight are like a Liga MX team in the older CCL tournaments, just rest the big guns and bring them in if absolutely necessary, then get a result anyway.
It's not just ESPN. Austin has been using ATX as an abbreviation for us for a decade or two. That and the '512' area code indicate Austin (even though we have two area codes now... and what are area codes anymore?). Odds are that Precourt requested that it be used for the abbreviation because everyone in Austin would expect it... and if it weren't used, we'd use it anyway.
Seeing as their road record is better than all of 2 (TWO!) teams home records (one of which is the Revs!!!), I'd say they'd do just fine if they had to play on the road.
Here's something that looks to be at least five years old: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/362258363758439872/
I just now realized that the Revs earned a draw yesterday. I assumed that they had lost, as I left home when they were down 2 goals, midway through the 2nd half. Wow, they are something else.
And here is something from 2006. ATX is the code for Atbasar Airport in Kazakhstan. AUS is the code for Austin-Bergstrom airport. ATX means Austin TX.
I've flown in/through there before, that's why ATX threw me off. Living in a completely different Texas from you, I doubt many people here think of ATX with Austin.
