We won. Our defence was shaky. we desperately need inacio And Pote to return and remain healthy. positive : Pablo Sarabia played great. He’s adapting to the club and can be influential here.
Bragança won man of the match and he looked great. I liked Ugarte's 15 minutes today, looked totally calm on the ball and didn't lose it.
He's really fallen off. But we know what we get with Jovane: He can't create he own chances. He's only useful when he has time on the ball He's clumsy as shit and dribbles the ball with his shins and not his feet He can't pass the ball for shit He can't play striker He's not fast enough to play the wing He can't play on the right side of the field If he loses the ball, he won't ever recover it. He needs space to be effective. Just too many flaws in his game and too much in inconsistency to keep him around or rely on him.
We are winning games even if we are generally playing shit. Atletico Madrid smashed Barca. Benfica win was a non result. If we can keep finding ways to win, when Pote returns we will be back to our best. Once Bayern destroys Benfica they will start dropping points and the lion can pounce. Forca Sporting! What a beauty touch from Sarabia on that first goal. Also even though it was deflected and a bit of a frango, must’ve been nice for Nuno Santos to hear the ball hit the mesh. Paulinho probably should’ve bagged one off that cross from Nuno Santos as well but keeper was right there. Spotty defending at times. Winning some gritty games, will be nice to see when we’re fully healthy and integrated.
This international break is coming at a great time for us imo. Pote and inacio should be returning. Sarabia is adapting. Ugarte finally got some minutes. Youths like Marsá may get a chance in the next game (taca October 15 vs Belenenses). also we got the two champions league games against besiktas which are probably winnable for us. Meanwhile benfica will have two games against Bayern which will demoralize them and they will finally start playing the tougher clubs in liga whereas we’ve played all the tough teams in the first leg already bar benfica. I still believe the BI is possible and yes, probable.
Funny, it was all doom and gloom a few days ago when we lost in Germany. We have a hectic schedule coming up after the break. 7 games in 21 days, including Belenenses up next (not B SAD but the REAL Belenenses club that is in 3rd division. We should see some rotation there. We also got league cup action vs Famalicao, but honestly for all I care We can throw the youngsters on.
Benfica just lost at home to Portimonense. I think this season will be tight race between all 3 grandes .

Anyone else think Nike has done a pretty abysmal job with our kits this year? Stromp kit was revealed today and it looks kinda meh. Aside from the home kit, everything else has been subpar.
I'm more pissed about the complete lack of availability for any of their kits or gear. Absolutely NOTHING available for purchase. The entire Nike rollout has been horrendous
