Wout Weghorst has tested positive for Covid-19, so a chance for Nmecha or Waldschmidt to start in the CL v Salzburg.

Berisha's Fenerbahce faced off against J. Eggestein's Royal Antwerp in the Europa League today. Berisha played the opening 66 mins before getting subbed out and wasn't on the score sheet. While Eggestein was an unused bench player.

After doing reasonably well in the Austrian league last season, both are still working to find their way abroad at their new clubs. Berisha has been in and out of his club's rotation, and has 1 goal and 1 assist so far in 5 Turkish league matches played.

While Eggestein has been mostly a bench player during Belgian league play and hasn't registered himself on the scoresheet yet. But he does have 2 assists earlier on in Europa League qualified vs a Cyprus club. The main reason Eggestein is on the bench is because the striker ahead of him is Michael Frey who leads the Belgian league in scoring so far. Interestingly, Frey spent time on loan to FC Nuernburg in the 2BL a couple seasons ago but was very mehh on that level.

So it seems both Bayern and Dortmund are stepping up their efforts to sign Adeyemi. The issue is that reportedly Bayern see him as a Coman replacement and Dortmund as a Sancho one. Would prefer him to play as a CF wherever he goes.

Cant understand why he should be a Sancho replacement. Think he would fit perfect in their current system with 2 forwards

Yeah Holer’s looking good. At 27 he is entering his prime so needs to start scoring consistently, but could be a useful option.

I think we are starting to see more CF options now, and Flick seems more prepared to call up players from smaller clubs.

It’s a shame Wolfsburg’s form has gone off the rails just when Nmecha is getting a chance at CF, he isn’t getting many chances created for him. Scored a decent header in CL but didn’t get much today.

Is Burkardt even fits the emerging category? Cmiiw this is his third season of bundesliga and he performed reasonably well so far. If anything he should get the called up before likes of Nmecha

Will be interesting to see who the next Wolfsburg coach is. Hopefully he can get the best out of Waldschmidt and Nmecha.

2nd category is basically for CFs who are more and more XI and performing. Basically ones who are close to establishing themselves.

this is 3rd 1BL season for Ngankam too though and he's in bottom category too.

Marco Rose (BVB trainer): “Cologne made it difficult for us to get into the game at all. But everything that happened to Ball today has to be said that Cologne were the better team. But when you see how our guys hang in, that's great. Big compliments to my team. Steffen Tigges scored his first goal and is as proud as Bolle. I think that will take him further and we want to develop him further here. (...) No returners are expected for the game against Amsterdam on Wednesday. "
