Set your terms and we are on. Seriously.

Btfw, I love how I posted the "highlights" gave y'all the min mark and people only say he missed only ONE.

    This shit is embarrassing.

BTW, He has literally cost norwich a minimum of 2 points in that game alone. Anyone remember the leicster game? I can keep going.

Pepi will be a top league striker in just a few weeks.

Hmmm. Wonder why you chose top 3 then? Actually, I don’t wonder at all.

The Bundesliga and Serie A are close enough in UEFA Coefficient point totals that they trade places on that list back and forth pretty frequently, including sometimes at multiple points during a season.

At the start of this season, Serie A was top 3. At the start of last season, the Bundesliga was top 3. At the start of the season prior to that, Serie A was top 3. Two seasons prior to that, the Bundesliga was top 3.

So it doesn't make much sense in my mind to talk about a "top 3" grouping. Top 2 maybe, since the EPL and La Liga have remained pretty consistent in those spots for around 15 years now (with the exception of a year or two when the Bundesliga was 2nd). But obviously top 4 or top 5 are the more typical groupings.

for a striker, it depends SO MUCH on the team and service. Again, I'm not a particular Sarge fan but the discussion here is overheated.

He gets plenty of the ball, even on his bad teams. We should still see improvement. We haven’t seen it. You are making excuses.

And correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t remember you participating in the PBP threads over the years so I doubt you would have the knowledge base to opine on it.

This is clearly why Berhalter can't select the right players. He hasn't even been participating in the BS PBP threads, so his knowledge base isn't even adequate for such a thing!!

Can we get another Alert! thread about this? The real fans need to know so they can express their outrage!

I was there. You were there in pbp. This is why bigsoccer is losing its appeal.

    Berhalter correctly left Sargent out.

Some of us like to watch the game and not type on a computer. The idea that you need to be in the PBP thread to have knowledge of how someone played is ridiculous.

That's why the blunt discussions around attacking players can get so tiresome. Teams also need different things from players. Folks like to dump on Jozy, with some good reason, but Sunderland did not drop with him in the side. My favorite thing to point out (cause it makes heads explode) is Sunderland didn't drop with Jozy, they dropped with Defoe scoring goals for them (and Jozy winning silver for Toronto). While that is mostly on Big Sam leaving, Moyes screwing the pooch, it does illustrate "scoring goals" is not everything.

Sarge's situation is different, of course, and Norwich are not getting goals anywhere else, and more than one thing can be true at the same time: Sarge can be a decent/serviceable hard-working, ball-winning "defensive" lower-table striker in top leagues, and still not be a game-changing/ top-level striker in a top league, and, as a young player, can still improve as well.

As I've posted, if I had to guess my guess is Sarge makes his mark as a solid 2nd striker in a 2 or 1-1/attacking winger in a 3 or perhaps an inside AM in a 4 or 5 or even an attacking ACM in a pointed 3. But he just does not appear to be the guy who will be able to create goals out of nowhere as a CF/Single Striker in the most competitive leagues.

And I still hope I'm wrong - but even if he's no Ruud/Vieri he can still be useful to some teams. I just doubt they will be the upper tier of the upper tier. And again, I'd love to be wrong.

I mean some people don't watch the games for whatever reason. I can def say that Jazzy and others have watched a lot of Josh and post in the game threads. I don't always post when I'm watching but I think most people that watch do and yes, you can learn a lot by watching -- Josh sees plenty of the ball, even on a bad team, his problem is that he's a striker that isn't particularly talented at finding the back of the net. Yes, those guys tend to play on bad teams and they tend to be part of the reason they are bad.

I’ll say that at least Sargent seems up for the physical demands of the Prem particularly given his age. Not everybody adapts to that aspect. I still think we will see a stronger and more physical Sargent over the next 2-3 years. Maybe that makes a difference.

That means almost nobody is watching Josh's games.

Josh’s only issue is confidence. When he starts to score then it should be ok.

Thats obviously not the issue. The issue is people pretending to say they watch the games when they obviously DON'T. E. G. Sargent had one miss last game.

I didn't. The original post that mentioned Top 3 is this one:

...which you can't see because you, probably, like 90% of the people here, already have Jazzy Altidore on ignore.

PS: To make it clear to all the genius-level IQ folks here, I was replying to Jazzy, reason why I mentioned "Top 3."

That is my hypothesis at this point.

So many of our guys play in relegation fodder not because we're unlucky or unappreciated and can only place a third of our players in relegation fodder clubs, but because about a third of our players are so poor, they can help turn any mid-table team into relegation fodder (and a few former-top teams into mid-table ones).

Add on top of that the anti-American bias of many fans in Europe, and you have the reason why the Mexicans who spend all day following our players instead of watching their Chivas (they got very few guys left in Europe) find so many tweets mocking our guys.

Sargent starts again vs Chelsea. Farke clearly blind and/or not reading the BS boards full of geniuses. Or he could possibly just be playing him because he spent 11 mil on him and is feeling guilty and wants the fans to like him? I dunno, lots of possible reasons offered here...

Should be a good test. Chelsea without werner/lukaku so maybe a chance to grab a point, but surely wouldn't bet on it. Sargent did put in a MOTM performance against Bayern last season though, so who knows...
