Bryan Reynolds all games PBP

I had to do actual work. Roma chose not to do any work, apparently. What a fiasco.

 

I had high hopes for Reynolds and still do. But has he done anything to merit playing time or even making the roster in upcoming qualifiers?

 

Dest, Scally, and Yedlin all having much better years at the same position. Moore and Cannon seem well ahead in Berhalter’s eyes. And that’s before getting to anyone in MLS.

Maybe for a friendly that you let Dest and Yedlin skip, but it’s a stretch for now.

 

Nope. The fact that he plays by far our deepest position is as big of a problem as his lack of playing time.

 

Reynolds apparently started vs Waregem but I don't see his number on the field. He's listed as number 2 (both by Google and ESPN) and is shown at RB, but the RB is wearing 4 and I can't read the jersey name.

 

According to their official Twitter he also started. I also learned that this was a derby and by winning, Kortrijk are the “derbyheersers”

Reynolds starts on ESPN+ against RFC Seraing. Five game win streak going for Westerlo.

 

Not a ton early. One play where I have no idea why he was so far out of position, but de Cuyper snuffed out the attack and there wasn't a good replay to see.

 

Goal for RFC Seraing. There was a very wide man on Reynolds' side. He was trying to contain the ball, but the pass went to the wide man. Reynolds rushed ot cut off the cross, but the attacker did a cutback cross in stead and a one-touch shot went off the far post and in. Not really at fault, but also didn't stop it. 1-0 against.

 

Reynolds - attempts a 40 yard field-switching pass and hits it 60 yards.

Then has an exciting dribbling moment, breaking through a tight hole between three defenders, and then hits a poor through ball too hard.

 

Tracking back tremendous tackle in the box by Reynolds to prevent a shot. Got there cleanly, too.

 

Westerlo equalize - corner kick popped back outside the box; Madsen's shot toward the far post takes a friendly defection inside the near post. 1-1.

 

Westerlo take the lead - execute a 3 on 3 break very well after a midfield turnover. Reynolds was still back on D. Dorgeles with the goal.

 

Reynolds on the receiving end of a 1-2 just inside the box - and then on the receiving end of a tackle where he is stepped on and could arguably have drawn a PK. Ref looks at the VAR and disagrees with me.

 

Seraing equalize. Turnover on the other side of the defense leads to a quick cross and surprising finish that beats the keeper near post. Reynolds not involved.

 

Reynolds looks much more comfortable and confident. Great to see. Andddd as I type that, he overhits a cross haha.

 

Rougher start to the second half for our guy. 1 v 3 dribbling turnover, easily intercepted pass forward, cross overhit by 20 yards.

 

Ehhh I look at it as him trying to get forward and create on the first two. However, the cross is a different story.

 

Picked out a good ball forward. Then combines with a midfielder that opens up the play.

 

Great line-breaking pass inside leads to a chance.

 

Cross hits the striker this time, but he can't control it.

 

Now plays a great cross in that finds its target. Striker can't take it down cleanly.

 

Foster blew that one. Right on his head at the backpost from Madsen, and miss-hits it.

Reynolds with the start against Gent. Had a good defensive steal in the box early. Playing right back.
