Regarding the fire academy, the even this week did the following.
    Split kids into groups
    Play 2 scrimmages
    Do a timed run
    See you later.

I coached for 16 years - when a DOC says "Trust the Process" I start looking at where my money is going... Maybe it's just experience :whistling:

The longer we're away from Sockers the more I appreciate them.
At least you knew never to expect anything.

Sorry the experience has been bad. I was at a 50th a few weeks back - one of my high school and college mates were at the party as well. He took both his sons to FCU - completely disgusted in Sockers - mostly the Nepotism from one coach towards his own son which impacted my buddies kid.

He was back at Sockers the next season - thought both clubs sucked but figured the same as you and his sons have one more year left to go before college. So expectations and a closer drive did it for him.

Central Illinois Eclipse is having a very strong fall girls state cup. They have advanced to 3 of the 5 finals.

What happened to Galaxy? They got beat by 1974. 1974 has numerous injuries and have had a difficult time in Club v Club. That was a shocker!

Which age group are you talking about? The 06 Libertyville girls are good. Galaxy has taken a nosedive.

Eclipse should give their second ECNL badge to that group and make the current North group the regional league team.

I only am familiar with the 2006 group and if any group should get a regular ECNL badge it should be Rockford Raptors. They are a very strong team. The 06 CI Eclipse is not, and it shows in their RL record. I think the ECI U15 is a very strong team, but the rest are either middle of the road or at the bottom.

Almost impossible to have a worse record than the Norrh teams.

I mean it’s tough to have an A and B team practicing at the same location and competing in the same league. Any club with two or more teams in the same age group would never put them in the same division and expect them to both be competitive. Not sure what the expectation was by the parents: here put an Ecnl badge on your sleeve while we give you the lesser players and coaching and then guarantee you at least two losses a season because our A team has to play you twice.

Roster 137 kids to each team and make it up as you go along.

Sometimes I thing that Eclipse is intentionally making things such a mess in order to confuse the f*** out of parents who for the most part - have no idea what they are doing.

If and when Eclipse move back to OB I wonder if they will bother with NB anylonger. From what I see, FCU is by far the better club in the area and has larger numbers.

What is the secret to Inter's success? If anyone should get an ECNL badge....

I wouldn't be surprised if North went to the regional league and Central Illinois got the second badge.

Yes this for sure - and that's only if there is $$$ in NB. If not then they will be done. Typical Eclipse IMO.

To be fair, with all the investigating in women's soccer, it was only a matter of time before cancel culture came for him, it's not like he has a history of being gentle with his players.

You're right. Some former Eclipse parents are thinking this should or will include the club. I agree - it all starts there and we should not have coaches abusing young players and Eclipse had some of the worst IMO.

Not to pile on, but I think the girls' coaches at FCU have a reputation of being fairly affable and caring in favor of their players. I hope the Eclipse girls - who are good kids - don't get hurt by this at the end of the day.

So to be honest, I was pulling my punches on this a bit. I am still involved in soccer locally, and until this was published, he still wielded a lot of power, so I wasn't trying to be to obvious.

What you are reading in the article is nothing, imagine some of that same stuff said to 13 and 14 year olds. Just spent all of dinner recalling things he said and did. He once told a girl who was around 14 and whose mother had abandoned her family, that her mom left because of how shitty she was at soccer. This stuff is just the tip of the iceberg. I am very curious to see how far it goes.

All that being said, DL who was a coach at Eclipse and TC treated my child way worse, so waiting to see if this stuff spreads.

It is also very difficult to expose when you are hearing it second hand and your child does not want to press it, as they are afraid for their career. Just a crappy situation all around.
