Crushing defeat but I value positively Kyogo peformance. He had a chance to score in the first minutes dribbling the GK but then Leverkusen CB blocked him masterfully. He keep running and pushing defenders/GK for the whole match. Worthwhile european experience despite the final result.
Good game by Celtic and Kyogo. Furuhashi has 3 good chances to score. Celtic has plenty other chances but Leverkusen overall is a better Team in an better Form.
Scored today, again, along with the usual hard work. I know his English sucks, but he should mentor our youth academy boys. The role model any kid needs.
Of course you can play good when you loose 4-0. Celtic has 11 shoot, Leverkusen 10. it was a very even game but Leverkusen used his chances and Celtic not, that was all. For a neutral watcher, this was a very exciting game. Celtic has at least 5-6 huge chances to score.
Okay, yeah, from this point youre right. Celtic was Bad. Maybe I mean more that from view of performance or offensive play, they looked good.
Kyogo looked good. He nearly scored (by head ala Okazaki), always threatening german side. What hit me was his continuos movement to press opponent CBs, just as Leicester's Okazaki did but with a better set of tools (skills) in his pocket. He frankly deserves a better team. This Celtic is not enough. Maybe someone in EPL will scout him and take him on a highet level. Let's hope just in the next winter transfer window.
Scored an absolutely fantastic goal tonight in Celtics important victory over Ferencvaros, 2-0. That's 9 goals in 13 appearances, impressive stuff.
He managed to get Japanese players fashionable among Celtic support, again. J-League highlights all over the forum I'm on. Daizen Maeda is on the fans' wishlist. To be fair, the manager knew what his system needed, and Kyogo was the perfect fit. Japanese players in general have traits that make a frantic press doable. In Scotland, Kyogo's speed is harder to spot, (shallow defense line) but yesterday, he showed how good it is to have a fast striker up front.
What if Maeda join and Kyogo left? He deserves (and need) something better than scottish league. Qatar 2022 is too close.
Yeah! We've seen how'd that worked out with Nakajima, Minamino and (gasp) ManUtd's Kagawa Playing for a better team in a better league doesn't mean shit if you don't get plenty of play time.
Kyogo played most of the game on the right wing. Did not work- he seemed to fear losing the ball, and so did not run at the defender. Second half, he was moved to the center, and ended up winning a penalty. Given that a different type of striker has shown signs of playing well and scored the first goal, a 4-2-4 system would be ideal. Postecoglou likes his attacking football.
Comeon, THIS Celtic is far worst then Klopp's BvB and that Halaand's Salzburg. Minamino and Kagawa were FINE in their team and they tried to rise their level playing in a UCL TOP4 level club. They failed but Kyogo is playing in a very weak league and Conference League level club, he deserves BETTER.
Currently only Southampton have been linked. Hardly a big improvement. A mid-table German or Italian club- sure, but not Southampton. Besides, I think Kyogo wants a title. Celtic's fortunes have turned- the radical tactic has begun to give fruit. And I'm saying this as someone who prefers direct, counterattacking football.
Furuhashi drew the penalty which was converted by his teammate, as Celtic tied it at 1-1 vs Leverkusen in the Europa League. He later had an assist to Jota as they took the lead at 2-1. Game now tied again at 2-2
He made a good showing but sadly his team lost. Despite the loss, they still qualified for the next round of the inaugural European Conference League.
His defensive work in the last 10-15 minutes of the game saved us, on top of his vital goal. Our best player in the air got injured, and we really had to avoid being squeezed into our box.
